With the dedication to fresh items- what do they do with day-old items, they end up here. I also check the day-old bread and other items shelves. I have found some interesting grabs. Usually this bargain aisle is marked-down with new bar-codes to make it easier to check out, but sometimes they just mark it down with markers and a cashier has to find the price. Bonus- finding standard items marked down like Arizona Tea or different pizzas that I can buy in bulk. This is a good chain store to buy produce, meat and seafood go the freshness.

This location is housed in a strip mall with a plethora of various businesses and there is ample parking. The store stays stocked and has the best discounted refrigerated aisle. This location houses LuLu's hot-n-fresh made to order items in person, whereas the other locations you have to purchase the pre-packaged items from LuLu's. Of course they also sell the pre-packaged items as well. They have a reasonably priced combo plate and I love their stir fried noodles. The deli and hot food counter is kept clean and tidy. And they offer hot items right off the smoker during lunch and dinner hours. You can also call in an order for them to hold if you feel they might run out before you get off work or take a late lunch. I usually purchase the smoked wings and salmon. The Bob's ribs, riblets and are good. Dierberg's has the BEST rotisserie chicken, I use it to make chicken salad sandwiches. It is extremely juicy, tender and packed full of flavor. I take it home and sometimes put it back in the oven to crisp the skin a little. I love the salami in the deli and the Dierberg's packaged Havarti cheese slices to snack on with some triscuits. Dierberg's is the place to purchase Merb's Bionic Caramel and Pecan apples for $8.99 an apple if you don't want to go to Merb's in-person. If the apples weren't soo delicious I'd say that the price is astronomical. The apples increase in price seems like every year. Dierbeg;s offers Katies Pizza and Pasta items specifically. I love Dierbergs, YESSSSSS they can be pricey sometimes but to me they are also comparable to Schnucks prices.

I could've written this so many times over the years because of everyday kindness, great product…read morerecommendations, and random acts of flowers (they gave me a bouquet for myself AND for the sick person I was making soup for ), but today takes the cake. We were expecting severe storms today so lots of people were stocking up when the tornado sirens started earlier than expected. They announced that anyone who wanted to stay in the store should join the crew in the basement to be safe. They guided us all calmly to their basement/storage/employee break area with smiles, lots of snacks, bottled water, and even flowers for moms with their babies! They made sure everyone was comfortable and had a place to sit down. I felt so safe and so taken care of! Once we were cleared to go back upstairs, everyone was as helpful as ever and the crew even walked folks out to their cars with umbrellas in the pouring rain. If everyone treated each other like this team treated a bunch of strangers, the world would be a better place. Thank you to everyone who was working this afternoon for restoring my faith in humanity!

I visited a few times and unfortunately it got worst with each visits. Pros: 1. Can find international items (mostly Jamaican & African) from my observations 2. Located right off Olive & 170, easily accessible Cons: 1.Building needs serious working (water leakage & roden identified). Owner was very receptive when I noted the rodent 2. Cashier is not friendly. Handling items rough when searching for barcodes, it's like she is going to rip the packages open 3. Prices are no longer transparent. Removed off almost all items in the store. 4. Items can be pricey (maybe due to tariff) 5. Expired items are still on shelf Recommendations: Shop at your own risk. If you do go, examine items closely. Suggest items in a sealed original bag or items where the outer layer is trash.

This Asian grocery store is mostly what you would expect of a small grocery store. When I say…read moresmall, it's of an average smallness. Bigger than a convenience mart, much smaller than a Schnuck's. This grocery store is nestled into a very nicely kept shopping plaza. I'm rating the East East Oriental grocery store 4 stars because it's well lit, decently organized and is reasonably easy to find the things you might need, as long as you know what you're wanting. With that said, I found the selection a bit limited and some prices higher than expected. I visited this grocery store to stock up on a few things to help me make Sushi rolls. I got the Nori sheets I wanted, the primary reason I went there. However, it was from a brand that I don't normally use. That's what I mean by limited. I actually prefer the Yamamoto brand, but they don't carry it. So, I guess I get to try a new brand. I also picked up pickled Daikon, miso paste, tofu, pickled ginger and dried seaweed (Wakame). I was hoping to find some dried tofu, but they don't have it. You can get dried tofu as part of some miso soup packet mixes, but I wasn't looking for that. I also didn't need Furikake, wasabi, rice or Kewpie mayo, but they do carry these. On the flip side, they do not carry the small jars of Huy Fong Vietnamese garlic chili sauce. They only carry the larger size. I prefer the smaller size, but only because it takes me a long while to get through even that sized jar. For powdered Wasabi, I only recall seeing relatively large bags at around $20. That sized bag would last me years. On the plus side, the store does have a decent amount of dinnerware including ceramic bowls. If you're looking for larger sized bowls for Pho or Ramen, they do carry these. They also have a reasonably good selection of various Asian brand canned meat and fish. They also have a smallish section of fresh produce. As for prices, they are often on the higher than expected side. 100 sheet package of seaweed is around $25. That's actually a decent price all things considered. That makes it $2.50 for 10 sheets or $12.50 for 50 sheets. This 100 sheet package is way cheaper than buying 10 sheet packages. Furikake is around $4.50 or so, just a tad pricey. Keep in mind these are 2025 prices. Your mileage may vary. If you're looking for something specific like a sauce, there's a decent chance they'll have it here. Overall, I would definitely shop here again when I'm running low on Sushi fixings. Though, at 15 miles distance from home, it's a bit of a trek.

Thank you Schnucks corp for being such a great neighbor and really adding positivity and uniqueness to Overland and Saint Louis's culture. There are few things that say "vibrant and healthy culture" as warmheartedly as being watched by handfuls of cameras for safety while you sift through their "ripe off the vine" super fresh and never stale produce. I will absolutely keep coming back here forever and will never drive out of my way to other grocers that care so little about their customers that they won't even have multiple cameras on them! 1/5.
