After the second day, I had to venture out for meat and found myself at the Woodson Bridge Mini-mart & Deli asking a very smart, attentive young woman what was the most popular item ordered. She said emphatically, "Cheeseburger. Cheeseburgers are definitely what most people order here." She politely asked, "with everything?" I asked what everything meant, she responded: "mayonnaise, mustard, tomato, onion, pepperonicini, jalapenos," I said "YES!" probably too quickly and too loudly because, as I mentioned, I'd been at the Abbey and eating very simple, vegetarian fare. She brought it over and was incredibly sweet and kind and it was pretty much an OBSCENELY DELICIOUS burger, one of the best I've ever had. Yes, it came on the heels of deprivation, but still.
