Excellent entrees, desserts and service! The ramen, dumplings and huge amazing cookies are all delicious !!

Some good and some not so much. I ordered delivery. We had creamy crab rolls, good like a big rangoon. We also got the peanut noodle salad and thatveas delightful. However, Garlic noodles not so much. Not garlicky and so stuck together we had to add butter to eat. We got the dumpling bowl, and considering they are know for Ramen had high hopes but the broth was not good. It's hard to describe but bland while also just bad is close. Gen. Tso"s chicken was mediocre, chicken very dry and chewy. Walnut prawns were a big disappointment. This is a favorite for us. I appreciate that the sauce was on the side but it lacked flavor, just so bland. Chicken chow mien was on point and the veggie fried rice was the best fried rice I have ever gotten in Redding! We will definitely try again. Next time we will go in for ramen. read more

I got stuck in Redding due to flooding the night before. I had a comforting lunch at this place and it's just as good when I first tried it. Tucked in an unassuming establishment but once you go inside you will find a very welcoming decor and pleasant atmosphere. We needed to plan a surprise gender reveal and the lovely people at Sweetspot were able to fill and decorate cupcakes for it within only a few hours! The cupcakes were some of the best I have ever tasted, with a delicious whipped topping and a slightly hard frosting underneath that gave great texture to each bite. I was a little thrown off trying to enter the building and even more so upon seeing that it looked more like a restaurant on the inside. However, I easily found the counter that beautifully displayed their baked goods and gelato. I will definitely be back to try more sweets and the ramen I saw on several tables! read more

Sweetspot is a fantastic spot for a quick dessert and yummy ice cream! My family and I were craving a sweet treat after dinner & the ice cream and cookie sandwiches here hit the spot. Not to mention, the interior is adorable and very clean! They have interesting Asian-inspired flavors such as Thai Tea & White Rabbit Candy which really caught my eye. I enjoyed the Guava Strawberry Sorbet & I found it paired nicely with the White Rabbit Candy flavor as well, though the white rabbit was a bit too sweet for me. A real hidden treasure in Redding (seriously, use your GPS/maps to find it hidden next to an auto repair shop on Hartnell). This little cafe features both Japanese/fusion meals including ramen and noodle bowls AND a bakery and gelato counter with nice looking pastries. The ramen was excellent - in-house made noodles that were al dente, large portion of protein ( I got the chicken shoyu ramen and took half of it home and I never do that). Other things on the menu looked worth trying. Prices were par for the course these days or maybe a bit better, especially with the large protein portion. I had high hopes for Sweetspot Redding after speaking with Charleen over the phone a week prior to placing an order. I specifically asked if we could get 3 dozen mini cupcakes including Diva, Dirty Diva, and Red Velvet--since Dirty Diva isn't shown online--and she confirmed it was possible. She instructed us to call a few days in advance with payment, and I let my coworker handle it since I was going to be out of town. Unfortunately, the experience after that was disappointing and frustrating. When my coworker called to place the order, the staff told him we couldn't get Dirty Diva or Red Velvet at all. That directly contradicted what I was told earlier. Then, when picking up the cupcakes, we were given 24 Diva and only 12 Chocoholic--nothing close to an even split and not the flavors we expected. No Red Velvet. No Dirty Diva. To make things worse, the staff refused to give me the order unless I provided the last four digits of my coworker's phone number, which I didn't have memorized. I had the first three digits, but not good enough I guess. I was forced to leave, get my work phone, and come back just to pick up cupcakes we had already paid for. I understand security, but this felt excessive and accusatory--especially with no prior heads-up that this verification was required. The whole situation was incredibly unprofessional. It felt like there was a complete breakdown in communication between staff members, which left us with a product we didn't want and an experience we definitely didn't need. Oh, and to top it off--the Chocoholic cupcakes were dry, which is exactly why we asked for caramel-filled Dirty Divas in the first place. I'm genuinely disappointed. Sweetspot really needs to ensure all employees are on the same page and that customers aren't given false promises or left confused at pickup. Oh my, what a wonderful surprise the new Sweetspot is. Okay, it took me a long time to visit after their move, so not all that new. We had wine, bao buns, pot stickers, gelato, and a cupcake. Maybe that's an odd combination, but it suited us well. The chairs are so yummy! - the ones with the green seat cushions in the bar area. The decor is lovely, even in the restrooms. If you're looking to have a group dinner, check out the sweet private dining room (used to be a meat locker!). The service was outstanding, just enough check-ins. Prices are reasonable. The menu is eclectic - a bit of this and that - fun! Check out the Thursday special - buy one get one for a penny!!! (May be a limited time special.). I got to go from here tonight, and it's so good I had to write a review mid meal! I ordered the chicken ramen, potstickers, bao buns, and the chocolate crackle cookie and snickerdoodle. It was all yummy! The chicken is juicy and the broth is flavorful. The bao buns are not fatty. The potstickers have a caramelized edge that's so yum. The chocolate cookie tastes like a brownie and is huge! Def want to order from here again. read more

I'm not a big fan of Ramen AT ALL because they've all taste around the same...until we discovered this place from Yelp. We were up in the area and was craving sweets, it was weird to have these two culters of cuisine served under the same roof, well for us it was and that's why we had to check'em out. We were not disappointed!!! FROM NOW ON YOU WILL COMPARE ALL RAMENS TO THIS PLACE. It was savory, rich tasting but light feeling, crunchy sweet corn, crispy fresh strips of veggies and perfect textured ramen. It sucks that we don't have anything that comes close to tasting this good down here in the east bay or even Bay Area for that matter. Parking was fairly easy, the restaurant shares a HUGE parking lot. Customer service was top notch, clean and calm environment. The bathroom is very clean but be warned. There are no paper towels or blowers to dry your hands. I highly recommend this place for thier ramen. The sweets are good too. read more

If you haven't tried their Ramen it's a must! Their half and half ramen with pork belly is fantastic! The best ramen I have had! Fresh, flavorful, high quality ingredients and they have gluten free noodles as an option! Their rice bowl with chicken, yum yum sauce, garlic sauce and siracha is delicious as well, their dumplings and potstickers are great as well! As far as dessert we love their strawberry cheesecake and strawberry guava gelato! You can also get a champagne float! The strawberry guava with champagne is a great combination! Their snickerdoodle cookie is great as well! I will say some of their other desserts seem overpriced. read more

Sweetspot catered the cupcakes for my wedding, and they were amazing! Charmaine was very helpful and wanted to make sure everything looked perfect. They set them up and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They tasted and looked great and the guests seemed to love them! They also made gluten free cupcakes for a few guests, as well as a special larger gluten free one for my husband! This was our first visit for food (vs sweets) and our first since they moved locations. We ordered the chicken shoyu ramen and the pork miso ramen. The broth on both was so flavorful. I subbed GF rice noodles and the wait person asked if I wanted GF chicken too which I was very thankful for. The noodles were so good. The menu lists broccoli as the first veggie in the ramen but I only got one piece. I don't know if that's normal or not but i definitely expected more. I was bummed about that. Plenty of corn, bean sprouts and green onion. And the chicken wasn't good. I'll start off by saying that I'm chicken picky (I prefer breast and no grisly, rubbery texture) and I did ask about it but was given a non answer so I decided to try it. I took a bite and the texture was quite rubbery so I didn't eat the rest. The ramen filled me up without it. IF I were to go back again (the broth was so good), I'd get the veggie ramen and ask about the amount of broccoli. The pork ramen was excellent. The service was also excellent. read more

The staff here are phenomenal! They were quick to accommodate me and our party that went from 5 to 8! They were so busy that night due to a Halloween event outside and still made our dinner enjoyable. The food was amazing and the desserts are all so delicious we decided to get something different just we could try a few. I ordered the ramen with chicken, the veggies were not over cooked and the ramen was thick and bouncy but the broth was the star. Great place for some gelato and other sweet treats! My favorite gelato flavors are the blood orange, strawberry cheesecake and birthday cake. We also ordered the raspberry cheesecake and two chocolate cupcakes. The cheesecake was divine. The cupcakes had great flavor but were quite dry. It's a nice place with friendly staff. The best gelato in the north state! We went on a Friday evening and there was live music, which is always a plus.

Their Ramen is one of the best I have ever had, really flavorful. I usually get the half miso and half pork belly. The pork belly is delicious and a level 2 apice has the right amount of spice. The rice bowl with yum yum sauce is also delicious. And my favorite drink is a prosecco float with their strawberry guava gelato! Place is so cute! read more
