I come to save mart when they have good deals or just small grocery runs. Last time I went I had 2 packs of the 24 bottled water and I also had my cart full of groceries and as I was walking to the registers I seen they had no registers open besides the self check out which is 15 items or less and I had more than that. As I was in mine 10th item a lady finally opened one of the registers and another associate walked out of one of the rooms and looked at me talking bout he doesn't know why I'm at self check out with all those items so I proceeded to tell him " there was no registers open and no associates on the floor so my only option was the self checkout " and he just responded with "oh yea I know". It was probably around 11:30am so idk why they didn't have registers open. read more

Went to Save Mart today, the store is very clean fully stocked. I enjoy shopping and Save Mart but when I checked out, I was checked out by a lady named Gwen.. who never said hello did not have a smile on her face was really not real rude to me but rude to me because I didn't have my products the right way for her . Customer service is such an easy thing to do to put a smile on your face greet your customer. You didn't even have to make small talk just be nice. She wasn't nice to the two customers before me, the next time I go in there if she's checking out, I'm not going to her. I'll go to self-service if that's not available. I'll just leave my cart. Smiles cost nothing thank you cost nothing this woman has none of that. read more

I was out here in Tracy taking a little break from work visiting a friend. I wanted to bring some steaks to BBQ. I've always had good luck with the meat departments at Save Mart, so I stopped in here to see what they had. I cane across a pack of what looked like good marbled flank/ skirt / flap steak, you know that thin steak with he grain all running in one dir3ection. Usually I don't get this cut, but hey, it was on sale, and rib eye costs way more. We did a salt pepper garlic powder and paprika rub and my friend grilled it up perfect. Sliced against the grain, it was a very good steak for the price. I'll say no it wasn't as tender as a high end rib eye or any prime grade meat, but when you look at the price of $8.00 vs $25 a pound, it was worth it and my friend liked it too. I went in for a Christmas tree on tracy blvd tracy I said to tree guy I have app it has a coupon for ten bucks off he said that doesn't apply to 3-4 ft trees, I said ok Ty week later I can back trees almost gone! And drying but I noticed the coupon did apply to 3-4ft so I went in at self serve cashier I asked how much the small trees by the door are( ???) @Idk I'll call a manager"- the tall dark handsome very unfriendly manager said "$19.99"I said "cool I'll take one and here's an app coupon for 10.00 bucks off too" She froze- called manager back and he said " well she can use the coupon but trees are 29.99 then!" What a lousy thing to do !!! Shame on him I'll ho back to Save Mart for the meat deli and produce department for specific items but I won't shop there anymore and contribute 200-300 a week to this selfish manager's bonus read more

I described what I wanted as a design for the cake and it came out so beautiful. Unfortunately I forgot the Baker's name, but she is amazing at what she does. I'm shocked that this grocery store currently has a three star rating. There's good staff here (the checkout stand people are always friendly and the guys that work in the butcher department are always fantastic helpers), I also have had good interactions with the assistant manager (related to couponing). The produce here always seems to be in good shape, I've never had any issues with expired items (unlike other grocery stores...), the aisles are always neat and organized-- and bonus, the deli carries this fantastic habanero cheese that even the fancy grocery store close by doesn't carry. They also do a good job of keeping the carts stocked (seriously, why do so many abled body people have trouble with returning their carts to the nearest cart return?...). In short, I think this grocery store is worth giving a try if you've never tried it before and especially if it's close to your house. read more

As most of us customers are bagging our own groceries these days, it's frustrating when the clerk starts scanning the next customer's groceries when we are still bagging our own. As I mentioned that to the cashier, I was totally ignored. It'd be nice if SaveMart management reminded their cashier of this simple etiquette. I've been shopping at Save Mart for around 6 months now. I actually just stopped in last Friday night for some items after dinner before heading home. They have cool little kid karts for your kids to push around which kids love, it keeps them occupied and out of your hair in a way as you can put items you're buying in their kart and the kid is happy and not asking you to buy them 20 things. Went to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy decided to use the good RX plan the pharmacy personnel was not happy about it they vented to me that you all come yup You All come in here trying to use the good RX and we're not going to accept them because we're not making any money from it. WTF. I just listened and let her vent I don't know why she was or what the problem . I love the Deli at Save Mart and so I was very disappointed when the Broccoli cashew bacon salad was old, and the cashews were mushy.

This SaveMart is a pretty standard neighborhood grocery store. They have a great selection but are a little pricey. I'm more of a low price Winco kind of gal myself, but if I can't make it to Winco, I'll come here. Overall, SaveMart is a clean store with fresh products. I saw a couple reviews with people saying that they have gotten expired things, but I myself have not had that problem. It's always safe to check the dates on the stuff you buy either way. I will say that their produce, while not as fresh as Safeway, is fresher than Winco. Of course, with a significant price difference. The other parts of the store are comparable to their competitors. SaveMart has a friendly staff for the most part. The night crew can be a little dismissive and I have experienced this a few times. I generally try to come during the day to get my shopping done because that's when there is a better selection and friendlier service. Good solid store at the end of the day but if you want something fancier, try Safeway/Raleys or if you want something cheaper, try Winco. read more

**This review is for Save Mart BAKERY** Thank you Rise Rose and team are the only reason I (and a few of my neighbors) keep coming back, the level of customer service was exceptional from the time the order was placed until pickup. Did I mention we were on a budget?? Under $60 and we added Moana figurines once we picked it up! We went her for my daughter's 5th Moana themed birthday and the cake is super important to me. Several of our friends commented on how much they loved our handcrafted custom cake (and cupcakes) designed for the theme. That just speaks to Rose's level of creativity and artistic expertise. I recently moved to Tracy and stumbled across this Supermarket when I was looking for the Baskin Robbins. I ended up choosing to by ice cream at Save Mart instead and was very pleased with the service there. Everyone was friendly and I discovered the biggest selection on Tastykake products that I have seen anywhere. My wife and I love this store and here is why... The butcher is the best! Everytime there is a sale on Ribeye, T-bone or New York Strip, my wife and I go to the butcher for 2 inch cuts. They always are happy and ready to help no matter what time of day. This is how it works... We go to the butcher counter..."we want 3 two inch thick T-bone steaks" . They politely say that will take a few minutes. My wife and I go shopping through the store and start heading back to the butcher counter when a few minutes pass. Before we are there the butcher is looking for us to deliver the order in the store with a big smile. My wife and I love this type of service. The meat is excellent, but the service makes it a truly GREAT deal! When we check out, the checkers are always helpful and happy. This completes the experience as we walk out the door feeling like they want us to come back soon... read more

She was pushing a cart back to the store and I asked for it, not because I needed it, but because I was going that way and I was trying to save her a trip. She threw the cart at me, gave me a nasty look and walked away. Just bizarre. Other unfortunate interactions with her range between dry and rude. Shame on management for employing rude people. The stored has just got remodeled, and I wanted to try the new Deli. The burrito was cold, it was thrown together in a hurry, the person making the burrito had never made a burrito before for she worked in the bakery. A typical neighborhood grocery store, overall. Save Mart offers a broad selection of the products you might expect at a few-pennies under Safeway and Raley's prices. It is notably higher than WinCo. I didn't find the meat counter as impressive as the competition in terms of service or quality. Most grocery stores seem to sell meat packaged for fresh sale that is or was hard frozen but this seems more standard at this Save Mart. In contrast, I'd describe the produce section as well managed. Produce is kept well stocked, there is pretty good variety, and I've never found wilted or spoiled product on the shelf. There is a reasonably good selection of beer and wines at this store but far fewer than the Raley's at Tracy Blvd. & Valpico Road. Don't look for a coffee shop. There isn't one. The deli is OK but, I much prefer the variety and quality of Raley's for deli items. Save Mart has loss leaders each day and keeps sale papers by the doors so shoppers can easily check the weekly ad and get in-store coupons. The staff is approachable but convey a sense of tiredness or resignation. This is in contrast to Safeway where you can't walk down an aisle without being greeted and asked if you need assistance or Raley's where everyone is absolutely bubbly. Overall, we use Save Mart primarily to stock up on sale items and for quick stop shopping when we need soy milk or a recipe ingredient. read more
