After sending emails to 5 LA businesses about refilled or refurbed HP LaserJet toner cartridges I chose SaveOnToners.com. Fred Kohan answered my 3 emails promptly. The price was the best I saw for refurbed cartridges. Lower than for refilling your own empty ones. I ordered online and the cartridges came the next day for minimal shipping costs. How can they do it at that price? Packing was excellent. The cartridges worked great after I figured out to not only pull out the the toner strip but also to remove the protective paper. Ok, granted, it is not in the nicest of neighborhoods, but it is an outlet/warehouse and they are passing the overhead savings onto you. So, a few pointers before dealing with downtown traffic and a purchase. 1. The front door is on 16th Street just before S. Central not directly on S. Central. Also, 16th is a one way going toward S. Central. Plan accordingly when you get your directions. 2. The building the store is located in has a garage. It is located to the right of the front door of Save on Toners on 16th Street. 3. Please be aware, you will be required to pay cash if you are buying direct from the outlet store front. I'm not sure about larger orders though. However, if you call the number on the site and tell them you'd like to place an order for store pickup, you may be able to pay by phone like I did. (I had driven all the way over and didn't have cash...but they totally worked with me when I called the main number). 4. When you buy your inkjet cartridges (the compatible generic kind as I did), please open them over paper towels as there will be a small amount of ink. Most are like this anywhere and is pretty typical for most generic cartridges. Have a tissue handy to dab the surface clean prior to putting into your printer. I have a Canon Pixma and have been using my printer for numerous jobs the same day I purchased the compatible cartridges, they work perfectly! This purchase saved my butt on work orders I needed to print out for my small business and I'm glad they worked with me on the payment. Very happy! read more

If price is the only thing that matters, this is the place. I needed a cartridge RIGHT NOW, so I was willing to drive to get it, instead of waiting for delivery. The first Yelp address lists it as being in Glendale. I went to the S. Central address there, and then called the shop when I couldn't find it. It's S. Central in Los Angeles. I still needed the cartridge RIGHT NOW so I drove downtown. Parking was hard to find, and the entrance is actually on 16th not S. Central. But after all was said and done I got a $45 cartridge for $10 (plus tax), with a 2nd one for only $5. I don't mind going downtown, and the next time I'll know exactly where the storefront is and what to expect in the way of parking. Did I say "Next time"? Yes. Saving $15 to $30 on a cartridge is worth it to me. read more

Fred Kohan has, in every time I have talked with him, bent over backwards to make certain that I am a happy customer. On July 31, 2017, my Canon printer gave an error code B504. After a few minutes on the phone with Fred, the problem was resolved. That's customer service +. I've also saved hundreds of dollars with his products over nearly 10 years of doing business with him.
