Here comes a 5 star review if there ever was one! Our beloved dog had to be put down around 6…read moremonths ago. Had no interest in a replacement for her until we thought more and more about it. My wife and I have so much love for each other, we needed to share that with another dog! After all, a house with no dog is no home! We thought about getting a nice puppy, but then thought about saving a shelter dog, and that seemed like the thing we wanted to do now. Enter Robert and Yana. Saw a pure white Maltese online at their rescue that we thought could be a candidate. Drove over there and there were at least 50 dogs there, horses, and all kinds of animals! The Maltese, named Coco, as it turns out, had been a stud for making puppies at a puppy mill. Never got any love or attention. Was treated badly. Owner had actually cut his ears (still can't figure out what that nut was thinking!) He was then abandoned, chained under a house and left for dead in the hot Lancaster sun for months as he deteriorated, his fur became terribly matted, he lost almost all his teeth. Nearby people threw him scraps once in a while, but nobody cared to save him. Then somehow Robert and Yana found about this and drove out there to try to do it themselves! But Coco wouldn't come to them. They tried treats, and everything, but he wouldn't come to anyone. He was a wild dog. Then Robert thought! He brought a female dog to entice Coco, and just like that, he came out to do his life-long duty, when they grabbed him. He has had a lot of health issues, as mentioned, and a bad ear infection to boot. A lot of these things were addressed by Rob and Yana. These Incredible people do God's work, I'm telling you! I was so amazed at how they devote their lives to saving precious fur-babies like they do! We decided this dog was for us! A challenge to be sure for me, but I've always been good at teaching dogs tricks, etc. Coco is a bit rough around the edges, of course, but I feel confidant as he makes strides learning and most importantly enjoying life, with ALL the love for him and him alone! To get puppy-chinos from Starbucks, go on long walks, given the best food, doggy parks, having his own people to lay on their laps.We've had Coco for three weeks now, and you wouldn't believe the changes in him! (and how fast he has become spoiled!) Our hearts feel SO good knowing the good life we will provide him with, no matter how long he has with us in this world and we feel so good for HIM! He comes when called, is learning how to 'sit' and 'sit up', and is very loving! He is very sensitive personality. I can't imagine him being this way and still surviving everything he was up against. Robert is the nicest guy! A great guy! They set me up with all kinds of stuff. Food, treats, some medicines, and everything we needed to know about him. Leash, collar, harness, and this is just the beginning!,They care so much about what they're doing you can't help but get sucked in! Yana is such a hard worker too. Just super loving, caring, knowledgable folks! They went out of their way to help us out every way they could, and no we have a happy, sweet baby that's all ours! The mom was a stray, she had 4 kittens in a neighbor's garage. I brought all 5 to my home and kept them until the time came to bring them to Paw Parent in West Lancaster. I come to visit them every Monday. The cats are now spayed and ready for adoption. The owner and her help work so hard keeping all of the dogs and cats feed and happy. They need volunteers to keep the work load down. They really care about these animals. So sad very few people will adopt a BIG DOG.

Don't bother with this place unless the animal is at deaths door…read more We walked in and I told the lady in the red top with botched lashes that we had a 2 pm appt (this was at 1:50) and she's like well it's not 2 pm yet and under her breath she said "I hate my job" and so I asked her if there was anything we needed to fill out while we wait and so another lady jumped in and said she'll take the cat to the back to see because if the cat is healthy but they can't take it in unless it's sick and injured so she checked out the cat for about 2 mins and said the kitten was fine so I was like well can we put it up for adoption and they clarified that no exceptions can they take a healthy cat which is fine because I know shelters are at capacity. My mom had a similar experience trying to rescue a cat as well so it's a pattern. That woman is the first thing you see when you walk in unfortunately and is extremely rude and unprofessional saying things unprovoked. Would not recommend.

They have provided everything I needed for him and more, from shots to microchip to neutering! Andy works the foster side and she is literally a lifesaver. Every interaction I've had with her she has been professional, compassionate, and friendly. There was a situation that I was pretty upset with and Andy perfectly de-escalated it and made me extremely happy. I'm a little embarrassed at how angry I was (and I never get angry), but she really did a great job of bringing me back down. I would highly recommend this place!

I had a puppy as a child, but after he passed traumatically, I never owned another animal other than cats. When I first looked on the SPCA website, I was so excited when I found a dog I found cute. His name is Cupid!! Setting up an appointment to meet him was very easy. I made an adoption application for a meet-and-greet with him and it got approved in less than a few hours. Scheduling was very open and compatible with even my mess of a schedule. As soon as I got to the shelter, they brought out Cupid and he got to meet me and my mom's dog. He was a little bigger than expected, but besides that, I knew he was meant to be my baby. He was skittish, but he warmed up fast and I immediately adopted him. The prices listed on the SPCA website were actually incorrect... he was $300 cheaper!! Not only was it only $100 to adopt Cupid, he came with a collar and engraved tag with my phone number and his name, a leash, his microchip and its information, a bag of the food he was currently on, and a folder with plenty of information about how to make your puppy comfortable in it's new home. Thank you, SPCA, for making adopting so easy! P.S: I have to say, I've only had Cupid for a short amount of time, but I can tell you that he is the sweetest boy. I only got him last week and he knows how to sit, go potty only when outside, wait for me to give him his food, and a bunch more. He is the light of my life.

The process was quick and easy. I booked an appt same day, we walked around looking at all the animals. They are soooo cute! The cat area is adorable, they have a cat patio and inside is decorated adorably. The cats do just want affection which is heart rending. I wish i can take more than one home. My Mariah found a kitten she liked. The fee to adopt a kitten was $150 and he was fixed and had his vaccinations up to date. We chose his name, they had a collar made for him. They sent him with a cat carrier, just fyi. Again great experience!!!
