Hands down the worst employees I have ever had the displeasure to encounter. My husband was threatened by an employee there last week. In his face and telling him to hit him so he can kick his ass. He was pulling a pallet to the back room and yelling at customers to move out of the way, they often scream as they pull the merchandise to the back room. I am the one who made a comment about his yelling that he didn't like, and he stopped cold in his tracks and marched over and straight to my husband's face. Long story short, we weren't asked any questions and we were escorted out of the store by the whole staff! Humiliating and despicable! I called their main office and left a message, complain as we were still in the parking lot. Welp, it's been exactly a week and no call back! Safe to say I won't be shopping and their location again! 1/5 Stars - Bad Experience at Savers I'm really disappointed with my recent visit to Savers thrift store today. I've been to thrift stores before and always had a good time finding cool, second-hand stuff at the savers in Arcadia . But this time was different due to an encounter with the employee when it came down to paying. When I was at the self checkout, an employee accused me of switching the price tags on the clothes I wanted to buy. He just changed the tags to make me pay more. I tried to explain that I wasn't sure why he wouldn't accept the price as is, but he wouldn't listen. He continued to budge and refused to let me pay for my items... personally I find this troublesome because you know as being a thrift girly you spend at LEAST good 2 hours scouting for good AFFORDABLE items. And of course, I wouldn't have let all my good VALUABLE TIME wasted; so I ended up paying "full price". What also really bothered me was that I think the employee judged me in a way... He didn't check anyone else's stuff, just mine. It felt as if like he was targeting me and just biding at my items??. That's not fair and it's not right in so many levels. Thrift stores like Savers are supposed to be cheap and help the community. They're meant for people who can't afford new stuff or who want to find unique, second-hand items. But Savers is pricing things too high. It's like they're trying to make a profit off people who can't afford it. I ended up paying way more for the items I wanted, which was way more than I wanted to spend. I left the store feeling frustrated and upset. I'm not going back to Savers. I hope they change how they treat customers and price their items. If you're looking for a thrift store that's fair and affordable, I would not recommend Savers. Here and there I find some good things at Savers. Haven't really found expensive brands for good prices, but decent quality clothes to reuse, including a green sweater that I decorated for an ugly Christmas sweater and a navy blue dress to be Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service. And also some super affordable children's books and toys (i.e., Little People dollhouse for about $2) to use for work. If you donate, you can also get discounts over time. Long donation lines. Slow, rude, inefficient, teenage workers. I wouldn't recommend donating them any high value items or fast drop off based off my personal experience. (7/28. 4:30) Savers donation center used to be efficient. Now they replaced their normal workers with rabid teenagers, especially that short rude white boy, yelling and not pulling his weight. Does Savers have enough money to hire dead weights? Seems so. To management, if your strategy is to hire teens to save "money" on labor, don't have them manage the line or the crew, have them only move items. Untrained youth at least have backs if their mouth is untrained. Have a real adult manage them. Have a real adult manage customers. I've never seen so many workers, so disorganized from the white boy yelling at customers and the crew. If you're going to hire animals, train them. read more

This is my go to spot! I'm seriously always here! I love when you donate you get a 20% off coupon, for the most part it's organized the workers are all young and just like most young people they don't care about helping and aren't very friendly. But it is what it is if you know your way around you probably won't need too much help. Another downside is there is no fitting rooms there used to be but after Covid they got rid of them. Sometimes you will have to look for good finds but this is the place to most likely find what you're looking for! read more

The place is big. There is nothing tiny about this space. There are so any aisles for material and inventory. The hope is that they have the variety, which can vary depending on the day. Occasionally, they offer discounts on certain color tags, so that's something to pay close attention to when entering. They have coupons in their emails. I always try to utilize them just so that I could save a few extra bucks. In comparison to other thrift stores, I'll say that because it's such a huge place and fairly popular or the area, the prices (although already good) aren't consistently mind-blowingly cheap. Very reasonable, never expensive, but not always cheap enough to give me to feeling that I necessarily need to buy the item right away. As with any thrift store, there will always be a TON of t-shirts printed for one occasion (like a large family reunion, a 5k for osteoporosis awareness, high school, or church). It's also important to check the garment for blemishes. Many times, it is priced purposely cheap for that reason. That goes for stains, holes, missing buttons/zippers, etc. With any (reasonable) donation, you get a coupon for 20% off your next purchase. Parking: Spaces are tight. The ones that always get filled are directly at the front. Most of the time, I end up parking at the side closer to the donation area. The walk is not much further. FYI: - Most of the check-out stations are self-operated. - Many of the items featured in the kids' toy section are definitely missing pieces. Most of you know what you're getting into. - I am uncertain whether fitting rooms are available again or not. I have been a customer at Savers for over 5 years. About a month ago I was shopping there when a friend of mine had an issue with an employee there. My friend spoke to the manager regarding the issue. Abd we went on with our day. About 3 Weeks later I went back to Savers and I was probably in the store for about 5 minutes when the security guard and an employee who I had never seen before approached me and told me to leave the store that I was banned from the store. I asked Why since I have never had any problems there. They wouldn't tell me anything about why I was being asked to leave the store just demanded I leave. I obviously left and proceeded to get in touch with the district manager by the name of Carol. She told me that she was going to look into it and get back to me in a couple days. About a week later after nothing back from he district manager. I called get again wanting to know what was going on. She was vague and told me I ky that because I happen to be shopping on the store the day my friend had an issue with an employee that I was banned from the store. I was not involved in any way but the mere fact that I was shopping in the store that day is why I am banned. That's unbelievable that Iam being punished for something I was not involved on whatsoever. So if just the fact that I was shopping there that day is grounds for being banned. Was everyone else who was shopping there that day also banned? No. They weren't. I don't even know what the problem was the day my friend had an issue there. I was merely shopping in there at the same time. It's unbelievable that that this district manager would discriminate against me for metejy being in the store shopping at the same time that a random incident involving someone I'm friends with occurs is legitimate grounds to ban someone from a store they have been shopping at without any problems for years. read more

Five years ago I would have given 5 stars immediately without hesitation, however, now I can only give a 4 and that's being very generous. The prices used to be fantastic, but I noticed an enormous increase in all of their pricing about a year and a half ago. I used to get absolutely beautiful blouses and dresses very reasonably priced, but now they're charging full department store prices for used items. This makes no sense to me. Why would I pay $35 for a used blouse when I can buy it brand new for that price? Also, the store used to be immaculate and very well organized, while it's not filthy now or completely unorganized, it has declined quite a bit in both areas. I'm not sure if it's under different management but management needs to look at all of these reviews that are complaining about the exorbitant prices etc., and the lack of safety in the parking lot. read more

So savers for the win once again!! I was in the area of Montebello and decided to go to the nearest SAVERS which turned out to be the store in Arcadia. I actually had some clothes to donate so I did the donation first and once I walked into the store. It's so spacious and, clean and so well organized. It was such a joy to shop there. Of course I always start in the jewelry department and was able to score 2 pieces that have a vintage vibes to them. Very near to the jewelry department is shoes that are behind the counter, so they are designer, and I saw the most beautiful Dior sneakers and immediately asked the clerk too hand them over :). I didn't care what the price was I was just hoping they would fit and they fit me perfectly !! They are the Dior high top sneakers. They're in mint condition and they were $200 and they retail for $1200, So anytime you have the opportunity always pop into your local SAVERS but this one in particular in Arcadia is a gold mine. Oh and if you make a donation, make sure you get your 20% off coupon which I was able to use for my purchase. Win win !! read more

I have been going to Savers since I lived in the Midwest years ago. Definitely one of my favorite thrift chains. I donate all of my items to this Savers and the Savers in Arcadia is my go-to. I love to shop consignment and recycle after I am looking for something different. The last time that I went, I couldn't believe all of the items that were outside the store, waiting to be brought in for pricing/sorting, etc. Once in the store, I noticed that they have rearranged the various departments. It was fairly clean and organized. You receive a 20 percent off coupon after donating, so I was able to find an old-school lawn chair and several sundresses. All were in good shape and priced adequately. My only complaint is that there are no checkers just self-check-out. Please hire someone and make this a better experience. The self-check-out sucks. If I wanted to do that, I could just go to Walmart. read more

My family and I were having trouble finding a place that were taking clothing items (Goodwill) during the pandemic and thankfully a friend recommended Savers; Savers were taking them still! The whole process was quick and easy; they have a mini drive-thru set up where they can help each person/car load the donation items into the bin. It is no surprise that Savers has been known a rip off thrift store been to the one in Riverside and Arcadia :) You can expect to pay more than $8 for a used clothing. At this point, it is better to buy new than buy used from here since you are paying more in my opinion. Although there are indeed wide range of clothes from used to new with tags. Today I saw a express blouses with small holes and they still charge $10 for it. There is also a designer dress that was used and cost $150 when the laces are rip apart. Am I getting a good deal on it considering I have to pay more for a used and torn clothing ? Nope There are two workers on the floor and no workers at the jewelry counter. People are getting angry for not being help. Customer service is definitely lacking from the store. If you have hopes of saving money then this place is not for you. Seasoned thrifter, Savers newb. Finally checked things out this weekend and I have to say, this might've been my favorite thrifting experience during COVID times! Savers is big, clean, and handling COVID precautions like a champ. Parking is easy in their gigantic lot (even on a Saturday afternoon), and they had bins outside waiting for donations (no guessing on when donations are okay to drop off or figuring out where they go). They had someone onsite managing the door and letting people in as other guests left. There are six foot markers on the ground to keep everyone distanced and they're sanitizing carts regularly. So, onto the store itself. What do I like about it? Their home goods section, which is what I'm shopping for 99% of the time, has some serious gems at good prices. I like how everything is organized and found some great baskets, ceramic pieces, and kitchen stuff while I was there. I also loved looking through the little bags of small knick knacks and crafty stuff on the back wall--I found one with some good paint brushes and a drop cloth for only $4. I didn't really check out the clothes or books this time around, but they had quite the selection of both if you're in the market. Just now realized this location is offering 5% cash back via Yelp, so I'll be sure to activate that deal before heading back. Please becareful where you park your car. Very dangerous. Someone stole my Tacoma tailgate on August 29-24 in the day.Even having it locked. I Ask for security cameras and the cameras are old and only pointing where they get donation and they said they can't see either way any cars because they have the tarp covering the cameras. Please please park in front of the entrances. I can't imagine something worse to happen to someone and not being able to have any evidence because savers doesn't have up to date cameras. I saw a year ago a post of another accident of a lady getting her window broken and same thing no good cameras. Savers needs to protect the clients who shop at there stores. The pricing here is insanely high for a thrift store. The stars are only given due to the size, organization, and cleanliness of this store. I won't be back because of the pricing. For context to this review, just know I'm the QUEEN of thrifting! I've been to every major thrift store imaginable in the county, both big and small, including all the Goodwills, Salvation Armys, Out of the Closets, and mom and pop shops. So when I say the pricing here isn't thrift store pricing, that's just a fact. My entire wardrobe has come from thrift stores for years and I also thrift and flip easy stuff to flip (housewares, decor, etc.) on Offer Up and FB Marketplace. I looked around for 30 min. and barely saw anything high end at all. High end (not referring to actual designer brands) = Nordstrom, Saks, etc. brands. There was a lot of mall brands, but the low end ones like Old Navy, Forever 21, and Rue 21. Normally, a richer area means more high end items, but that wasn't the case here at all. Examples on pricing - Express and Target brand tops = $10-13. I'm sorry, but idk anyone who would pay $12 for a used Target cardigan when that's barely less than what they cost new. I did see one pair of Sevens jeans .... $35!! Are you for realz?! Other area shops that price those better brands higher would price an identical pair of jeans at maybe $15. I saw ZERO good deals in the housewares section. Mugs? $7-10. Candle holders? $5-8. Again ... these prices aren't thrift store prices at all but are almost what you'd pay at big box stores to buy this stuff new. I used to live in Los Feliz so I frequented thrift stores in WeHo, Hollywood, Los Feliz, and west LA. Even thrift shops in Santa Monica I've been to before weren't priced as high as this place. The organization of this place though was definitely something worth mentioning. Everything was organized by clothing type and size. Jeans and bags were hung on strange hangers that kept them very organized and easy to see. Housewares were labeled and organized by item type. While the place had very little furniture, their housewares was one of the biggest collections I've ever seen at a thrift store. Clothing, shoes, and bags - also a ton to look through compared to many other places. This is the perfect shop for those who are faint at heart and not truly into thrifting lol. If you want to pay a higher price in exchange for not having to dig, not having to deal with a dirtier place, not having to deal with so much riff raff, etc. then this place is definitely for you! How is it possible that a pair of shorts not designer or name brand are sold for $25. Things are given for free by the people. It's a pretty big store though and I'd wanna come back either during the week or right when they open to avoid the crowd. Prices were decent. They have a toy wall which I've never seen in person. I was biting my tongue waiting to see if it'd get better -- but I just saw the most blatant knockoff Hello Kitty plushies priced at 25 DOLLARS EACH. Highway robbery! Almost nothing in the store is under $5 anymore. This is my favorite place to go thrifting! The store is huge and plenty of parking available. I always come here and this place doesn't make me feel grimey and gross like other thrift stores. They have so many options for clothes, shoes, toys, and home pieces like plates, cups, etc. I highly recommend grabbing a cart when you first walk in especially since you'll end up piling up your cart. Now a days this place is always dirty , they took out the fitting rooms , their stuff is complete and utter crap half the time. The items are definitely overpriced and their staff are basically non existent. THE shittest customer service, when I tried to donate using a walk up as their line was extremely long and congested. We had parked and walked our stuff over which was very heavy. The bins were RIGHT next to them but this curly hair guy working in the line gives the worst attitude you can imagine like I'm a bum begging for their hospitality. Their supervisor Rebecca was just as bad and was no help telling me the same thing and giving me the same shitty attitude.NEVER donate here they don't care about you and do not appreciate you GIVING them something to sell! I found a cute shirt in my size and almost put it in my cart until I saw it was marked for $18.99. For a freaking used t-shirt?! I could get a brand new shirt for that price at many places. There was a used base for a play doh set up with no parts priced at $12.99! I bought my kid an entire play doh set brand new the other day for less than that. Price gouging at best. I was hesitant to write a review here for a couple of reasons. That changed today. I've noticed significant and I mean truly significant improvement here in the last few months. Today's visit was to drop off some donations to make room in my closet; as No local GoodWill is currently accepting any more inventory. The attendant met me outside the door and immediately provided me with a coupon off my next purchase. Amazing service for such a busy morning. The inside of the store has also changed. Bathrooms fresh; shelves clean and well-stocked. Also the prices have dropped quite a bit. I was looking for a specific & very hard to find type of analog radio to take a break from my iPhone sometimes; and for $4.99 I found it! Not only that but the book & clothing selection; is extraordinary wholesome. They also had a ton of fashion accessories such as baseball caps; belts; and more.
