In the summer, there are plenty of flax items in smaller sizes. This season (24) there are Beautiful new with tag garments from Worlds Window in size small. Customers of all ages are always saying, "this is my favorite store". The store is run by volunteers who work all week with programs for the disadvantaged, and on Saturdays for sales. The volunteers get nothing but good karma and the satisfaction of knowing they are helping people through the programs. Board members, volunteers, employees (when they have them) get no discounts, no first dibs, no advantages over customers. The SSL has been in existence in it's original form since 1863, and in it's current location since the ealry 1900. Note: this is a biased review: I love the place.

Please note Thrift stores are very hit or miss so going from week to week can result in a highly different experience. I'll be the first to admit, all thrift stores have a funky smell to them and I found TurnStyles to be no different; nothing to the point of unbearable but it lingers for the duration of the visit. Now in terms of being what do they offer, well pretty much everything and anything. Furniture, clothing, toys, books, CDs/DVDs, cookware, you name it. I found the kitchen section in terms of pots, pans, mixers and things of that nature to be very sparse while their main attraction was clothing. Towards the back, one can find a small furniture section with some decent to horrible offerings. I liked some of the books they had and was extremely tempted to pick something up since I found many that perked my interest. Their music selection had me laughing as I noticed a couple odd bands from the 80s, 90s and beyond which I don't think anyone would buy. Color Me Bad anyone? I don't recall seeing much for motorized lawn equipment but I was in and out relatively quickly. As for my purchasing, I found a couple of very cool items! I bought a 7 foot ficus tree which I've had for a long time. But what I really like is I bought this Greek inspired side head sculpt that I absolutely adore and it gets many compliments from my guests. Also there's a Greek inspired plate and candle holders which I think adds interest to my living room. Finally, I've also bought some quality kitchen items for my kids which saved me a ton of money. There are a few other knickknacks but you get the jist. Overall, thrift stores have a very particular clientele and subculture. I'm pretty sure if you're reading this you know how things go, so I'm not going to try and upsell you, rather give you the thumbs up to come on by and see what they got. It's pretty small but they have good prices. I mostly go for the household items since most of the clothing has a tendency to be pretty outdated. They do have a HUGE HUGE furniture section. I don't know where those words came from but it wasn't enjoyable. 5 years later to today... I didn't detect that odor. It was well lit. The idles were clear to push a cart. This is NOT and upscale/antique goldmine. It is a place that you might find something you didn't expect... as all thrift shops are. Prices? Generally high/very high on clothes. I go thru there books and oddities and baskets. This is what I don't find in most thrift shops- friendly people. The ladies at the register actually are really nice and can be very helpful about items inside the store. This store raises money for special needs programs. Donating here isn't fun but I like supporting companies who really help others. Don't expect a Thank You when donating. Just know that if rough times happen - it is stores like this that help. They even offered me 10% more in store credit--and yeah, I considered it. There were some fire pieces that almost had me breaking my own rules. But let's be real: my closet is already a crime scene.
