From the gourmet food, snacks, cheese, wine, beer & candies, it's definitely a savvy place to shop. & if you become hungry while you're shopping take a few steps over to the in-house Deli & get you something fresh to eat whether a sandwich or a small entrée accompanied by fresh brewed coffee, drinks, juices & more. The organic selections are huge. The prices for bottles of wine was surprisingly cheaper than I anticipated, with the opportunity to get a discount if you buy in bulk. Savi's has a mini farmer's market on display in the cold case, grab & go meals, a quaint offering of international products & nook of non-food household items. I'm just sick of their rude clerks. I've been coming here once a week since it opened and I'm just done. Usually to fix my sweet tooth or grab a sandwich. Never friendly, never smile. They have a great Deli and prepared foods, but it's just not worth it anymore. I forgot my bike lock, and parked my bike inside. This has happened at other businesses and they didn't care or were helpful. They told me I couldn't keep it parked even after I explained I normally always bring my lock but forgot. They said I can leave it outside they have cameras. Well you have cameras in the store and you have posters when you come in saying do you know this person bc they stole. So your own stuff isn't safe in the store. So the bald old man and the short chubby Deli guy, you're rude just like every one else that has worked there except Jon. I'm never coming back. read more

I like this little market. I met a friend here for lunch and did a little browsing before she arrived. They have everything from evening primrose oil to condoms. Not that I would ever suggest that one must have anything to do with the other. By all means keep them separate. But while you're there, know that you can grab almost any quick thing you may need. Fresh organic fruits & veggies? Check. Real maple syrup? Check. Kick ass sandwiches and salads? Check. A glass of wine? Check. King of Pops? Check. There's a lot that's already been said about the food. I'll echo all the good points. The food was fresh, and my sandwich (I got the veggie) was tasty. I really, really appreciate that they have a small selection of real cane-sugar fueled root-beers in the cabinet. And they have a really cool wine-by-the-glass dispensing system. Charge a "debit" card at the counter, and you have virtual freedom getting tastes or full glasses of a variety of wines just waiting there for the sampling. You have to check this system out. I was a bit frustrated that the sandwich maker didn't seem to be listening to my friend's order, and sure enough, messed it up. There seemed to be a comparative dearth of vegetarian-friendly options on the menu. And the cashier seemed a little high, but I'm not going to hold that against him as long as he rings up things properly and doesn't hurt anyone in the process. And Savi is a bit expensive. Just popped in on way back from Beltline to Marta and thought I might check and see if they have some of my favorite French butter and cheese products. Well, they do have a $7.99 (plus tax!) cheese box that is a few crackers, a few slices of fruit, and some -- wait for it -- *cubes* of processed cheese like you would find at an office retirement party. Wine selection is ok, but ridiculously priced when you have knowledge of how much the bottles actually cost to buy from an importer. This is sort of either a laughably pretentious version of a NYC deli -- with significantly less appetizing prepared foods -- or a kind of laughable failure at attempting to do a European gourmet market -- with abusively inflated prices. Anyway, however you choose to interpret the concept, it's not worth visiting. The cherry on top is that next to their broken entrance door, they have three fading color pictures of black men who allegedly engaged in petty theft from their "urban grocery," along with the request to call 911 if seen! Lol! Really? Do they really think the Atlanta police are going to waste time responding to a call based on pictures on their door? I personally found the pictures to be extremely racist, but perhaps the owner would disagree and that's fine. (If we're being fair, isn't it also "theft" to charge insane prices for cubed cheese?!) Seriously, though, the door just makes the business look petty, ridiculous, and hostile to the broader community. What a sad, overpriced, misguided place. Savi Urban Market is a cool, upscale, gourmet neighborhood market. It's located around the corner from Fritti and Sotto Sotto and across the street from Victory Sandwich Bar and Dad's Garage in Inman Park. The space is just big enough to where you can push small carts around. In some aspects, Savi is to Inman Park as Star Provisions is to Westside. They sell artisan wines, cheeses, and beers. They've got a deli, bake their own breads and desserts, and they stock fantastic local treats like King of Pops and High Road Craft Ice Cream. If this isn't enough to turn you onto this place, then I don't know what will. There's a broad range of unique and eclectic food brands and products. The store is definitely worth checking out least once to see the neat things they have for sale. Just about every dietary need seems to be catered for, e.g. the bakery offers breads that are gluten-free, wheat-free, flourless, and organic. For winos, they have an Enomatic wine machine so you can sample wine by the glass. The deli is the best part, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At lunch (11am-3pm), most basic sandwiches are only $6. You can even get a pimento cheese sandwich for only $3. Savi's sandwiches are high quality, delicious, and satisfying. The tarragon chicken salad and corned beef Reuben are some excellent ones I've tried. The "sous vide" dinner menu (6-10pm) is a great deal if you're looking to grab dinner to-go. You can order one protein and two sides for $10. Protein options include grilled mahi-hahi and Berkshire pork loin. The sides are where it's at, though: roasted garlic cauliflower with basil, grilled asparagus with coriander and lime, baby beets, turnips with honey, etc. Savi is open seven days a week with early opening and late closing hours. I was searching for a good breakfast sandwich, and surprisingly, I was recommended Savi Urban Market via Yelp. After scrolling through the other reviews, I saw Sara K's comment about egg sandwiches and started heading for SUM. And just a note: I totally second Sara K's tip...Dekota really does make awesome egg sandwiches! Street parking is available in front, but there is a lot behind this little shoppe. If you do park in the lot, there's an entrance in the back. It is a small space, but man, do they pack a bunch of goodies. One side is pretty much alcohol; the other is filled with a couple of aisles of everything from Nielsen Massey extracts and organic hair products to Organic Valley dairy and quinoa. They have a lovely cheese and charcuterie section. They pretty much have all the essentials extracted from a Whole Foods Market. I ordered a breakfast burrito for $3.99, which comes with eggs, cheese, and pico de gallo...yummo. And what a cheap cheap deal! I think Dekota seriously used at least 5 scrambled eggs for the amount I saw in my burrito. Additional proteins were 99c, & I added avocado and bacon. Everything was cooked to order, so it took a good few minutes, but Dekota was very conversational! I was literally stuffed when I finished my burrito, and honestly, I was expecting those small wraps you get from your typical fast food joint. This is a legit burrito (I believe my wrap was tomato basil). Yeah, so the breakfast burritos are a decent size. I definitely like the slightly cramped, but cozy feeling of this market better than the one in Buckhead. It's got more of a city market feel inside, and yet, the service and friendliness are what you'd expect from a family owned business. read more

This place is no longer dog friendly. You used to be able take your dog for a walk on the Beltline and stop in a savvy real quick to grab something. I went in a couple of months ago and was told it was fine if I carried my dog but today they told me to leave my dog tied up outside in the heat where they could be taken. This review is about delivery orders - the actual food is great and the selection in retail is very nice. If you place an order to this business thru Yelp/Seemless/Eat24/etc and they are out of an item, they just refund that item and don't call you - they rely on the ordering company to take responsibility to handle anything, which is ultimately way too late because your incomplete order is already on the way. The manager tells you that it's not their responsibility, that you're paying the ordering company, and if you want a substitution for the refunded item you need to come pick it up because the driver isn't going to wait and there is no way to charge you. They put 100% of the blame on the ordering service and will tell you that they met the requirements for the service. It's like she is angry that they have the delivery service. I won't be ordering here again because I can't place an order for my family and just hope everyone gets a meal when the order shows up. read more

Its the boss's birthday and I'm tasked with finding his favorite wine. A Washington State 2004 Kiona Cabernet. So it took some time and some finding but after speaking with the vineyard and the distributor, I called this location and was told they had what I was looking for. The person that answered the phone was very friendly, gave accurate answers about the product and their location. On the Savi site, the promote that they now have a location in Brookhaven, so I asked if they sold the same products and was advised that they should, but it would be better to call that place. Well after getting two people on the phone with VERY BROKEN ENGLISH, I decided to go with what I already knew. I walked in and was helped immediatly upon entering the store, and by stayin open till 11pm they stay open longer than my neighborhood Publix. I walked around a little, seems like you can get a prepared breakfast, lunch or dinner. The "chef" looked a little grundy for my liking, but with my luck he;s one of Atlanta's best and I've judged a book by its cover. I liked the skybars, and will probably go back to try those, I asked the lady how it worked, because I was just about to stick my debit card in, but she explained that you buy a card from them $1 and load money onto it and then use it to taste the selections. I saw a beer that that I like the way it looked and Im no beer drink but the coloring of this one made me want to try it. Kriek Boon. Has anyone tried that? The cheese selection didnt look any where near what I would consider even a good cheese section and thought their pricing a little high. Overall, I look forward to a future visit. read more

There is a deli section where they make fresh sandwiches and a market/convenience store section chock full of imported and local snacks, wines, cheeses etc. They also have basics like toothpaste and chapstick. I had a rooster chocolate chip cookie and it was delicious but right around 3 dollars so you pay for what you get. Will be back for sandwiches! read more

I really wanted to support Savi, but I'm not sure if I'll be visiting again. It's pretty pricey- about 4$ for a can of soup- and staff has been pretty rude the last few times I've come by in the late afternoon. (Not much eye contact, annoyed expressions.) I purchased a pint of milk only to discover it had gone slightly curdled. I brought it back for a return, and they refunded but didn't offer to compensate. This place has convenience and some decent groceries.The sandwiches are not good, the hummus and pimento cheese are almost inedible. The produce is sometimes moldy. They don't put expiration dates on the desserts or field roast sausage so I've gotten some really old stale desserts here (yuck) I've seen food in the store that is almost 1 year past expiration including refrigerated creamers 5 months past expiration. I've picked up moldy tomatoes etc. if the owners/managers would pull this place together it could be great. The remodel looks nice read more

Cute little in-town market that I love to stop by at! Their pre-packaged foods (in to cooler to the left as you walk in/by the deli) are awesome! I have gotten some great things here- like the cauliflower and packaged meats and salads. Genius idea for those of us that are bachelors in the A! I also love seeing them 25 or 50% off. This is not the place you go to grocery shop or to stock up on anything, but it is a lovely little option for grabbing a bottle of wine and some fancy snacks before heading off to a friends. You could event get breakfast (eggs, bacon, veggies/fruit) for a sleepover.They have lots of essentials and it is definitely more appealing to stop in here on the way home instead of driving all the way to a grocer. Love their supply of chocolates, alcohol and pre-made meals and meats. Although pricey, you pay for convenience (and most of their stuff is local and natural/organic). The longer I've lived in Inman Park the more I've fallen in love with Savi. The proprietors are super friendly and support the neighborhood, the veggie sandwich is seriously bangin', and they have an impressive beer/wine/ice cream selection: what more does a bachelorette need? Sure, it's pricier than Kroger, but it's also a more pleasant shopping experience and it's local. I'm not a fancy enough cook (read: not a cook at all) so I haven't dabbled in to their sous vide selection, but it looks impressive. The sandwich makers are often on the seriously slow side, but no matter: it gives me time to peruse elsewhere throughout the store. I'm super glad to have Savi in my neck of the woods, that's for sure. Every neighborhood should have one. read more

This lovely little market has just about everything you could need as a single living nearby in Inman Park or all of the necessaries for a small dinner party. This is a great spot. You can't beat a $5.99 sammy at lunch with quality ingredients. Right across the street you can get something more gimmicky at $4 a pop, but you have to eat like 5 of those little buggers to get full. No thanks, how is that considered value? Decent wine selection, meats, cheeses, King of Pops in the house, High Road Craft Ice Cream (the best ever), artisan chocolates, some unique items in the grocery section as well that I haven't seen elsewhere. Sure, they have some of the normal shit that you could find at Publix, etc. but why shouldn't they? This is a neighborhood grocery, not everything stocked has to be 'unique and different' just for the uber-hip crowd. Some of us lame asses like to pop open some typical canned soup here and there and slurp up all of its processed non-organic goodness, and then throw that can in a landfill. I love the deli here (open from 7 AM - 7 PM), the sandwiches are some of the best I've had in Atlanta. The deli clerks are always really nice and they prepare the sandwiches quite quickly. My two favorite sandwiches [thus far] are the 'Carter' ($7.99) and the 'Dangerfield' (10.99). They are pricey and small compared to say a Publix sub, but they're also that much better; and let me say that the dressing that comes with the Caesar salad - is the best dressing I've ever tried, I'm going back for the entire bottle. Aside from the deli, they have a very decadent dessert selection, I haven't tried any of their dessert, but you can just tell it's good. My only beef with Savi? It's not in Castleberry Hill! This is what a neighborhood market should be. Small quantities of tons of different stuff from toilet paper to organic flour, baby formula to high-end extracts. A small section of fresh produce, dairy products, even meats and cheeses. They have rotisserie chicken, entrees and sandwiches all ready for a quick stop during lunch or dinner on the way home. Savi is fun to explore and definitely a place I would go to, to buy unique sweets for my friends. Savi has a motley of unique products including organic products and imported sweets. They even have a small selection of organic produce for sale. There's a cafe in in the store that has an appetizing menu with lunch specials for 5.99. There's pre-made food for purchase as well. I'd definitely like to give some of the goodies a try, like the spinach noodles and mac dish. I ended up buying some dried mangoes, but there were a bunch of other goodies I'd like to put my hands on. The store has pretty accommodating hours as well, I think they're open until 11 or so. Terrible business practices here... We received a flyer for this place in the mail with a coupon for a Free Growler (which is a jug of beer). The coupon specified only the following things: While Supplies Last and Expires 12/8/11. The coupon also listed the addresses for BOTH locations, this one as well as the Brookhaven location. We took the coupon to the Brookhaven location as it is closer to where we live. I asked the cashier for our Free Growler and presented the coupon. The cashier informed us that the growler was only available at the other location. I showed her the coupon which clearly stated both addresses. Note that this was on the CUT OUT COUPON itself, not on the whole flyer. She shrugged and told us that not only did their location not have growlers, the other location was only going to give away 25... another fact conveniently left off the coupon. She said they were already out at the other store... keep in mind that we had gone on the SAME day that we got the coupon in the mail. As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the most deceptive coupons I've ever run across and a display of absolutely horrendous business practice. If your free item is only at ONE location, that should be stated on the coupon, and certainly both addresses should not be listed on it! Furthermore, if there are only 25 available, that should be stated as well (as opposed to "while supplies last" and an expiration date over a month away... something that implies that the item will be available for at least a little while). We were very upset at having driven over there only to find out that not only was the advertised item not available, it never had been. I will never, ever go to this store again. I will not give my business to a store that so blatantly misleads customers. I'll also note that we looked around the store when we got there and the alcohol they sell is extremely overpriced. read more

I've lived here two years and everyone I know has been wishing a place like this would open. Small selection of items, but good selection! Beer wine, food, essentials, and a fresh bakery and deli. Some of the items are priced a little higher than you would see elsewhere, but in general, they're not outrageous. The made to order breakfast sandwiches are AWESOME. Savi benefits highly for being in an area without any alternatives. The alcohol selection is quite good, albeit at a higher price than at the grocery store. It does have a good selection of high end beers, and I especially like how they sell many of them as single bottles. My first gripe with Savi would be the deli, which to be frank, isn't very good. I've always felt like you were at the mercy of the individual preparing your sandwich, and the result vary wildly. Sometimes you'll get a great sandwich other times you'll be left wondering why you just didn't make one yourself. The inconsistencies make it a "miss" for me. Lastly, the grocery is very disappointing. It's great that you can walk to Savi if you live in Inman Park, but everything sold here is available at Whole Foods for less money. The produce is also poorly maintained. Numerous times I've encountered rotting vegetables that have been sitting there for weeks. There shouldn't be white mold clearly visible. read more

This new market is pricey but it's chock full of interesting items. Including hazelnut straight out of Italy. They also carry Sparkmans drinkable yogurt (mango and peach) which makes me very very happy. They carry lots of gluten free items for all you gluten-free folks. To me, an obvious destination for an evening walk. Open late and I can definitely kill time browsing their wines and beers. Quite possibly the only things I buy here: chips and beer (they have a decent selection!), but they have real food staples such as yogurt, eggs, and onions. I've been found to splurge occasionally on Dancing Goat coffee beans and a Rooster cookie. Next on the new year diet list? The bacon chocolate bar by the cashier. A fabulous addition to the neighborhood, with plentiful back-lot parking, delicious pre-made food & scrumptious lattes, I am a fan. The staff is super helpful & very personable. The wine selection: extensive. The lay-out: suitable. The food/cheeses/deserts: heavenly. Tonight my husband got a slice of lasagna, I got some mac & cheese + stir-fried veggies. We left thinking it was slightly pricey but now after finishing every bite, we think it's worth every penny. On our way out from Victory Sandwich Bar, this gourmet market caught my eye. I remembered the name, probably from Yelp reviews, and felt compelled to check it out. Note that I didn't purchase anything. I also only strolled about for 10 minutes. Since I have always lived in the suburbs, I experienced a bit of sticker shock as I looked at prices that were at least double what I would pay at a dingy, overstuffed farmers market. Call me crazy, but when doing groceries, I like to do a CBA (cost-benefit analysis) and plowing through huge crowds of people to save some money wins for me every single time. However, looking at the selection of cheeses, wines, beers, coffee bar, and the stock of local goodies (Frozen Pints Ice Cream, High Road Ice Cream, King of Pops), I was impressed and slightly tempted (though my paunch was quite stuffed from my sandwiches). I was slightly disappointed that the desserts were not made in-house (I saw the little card indicating where they come from, but now my memory fails me).
