I absolutely adore this place. It's a cute neighborhood restaurant which has a mixed variety food but everything is delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the vibe is more conversational the music is not too loud and it's perfect for hanging with a couple of close friends or date night or just celebrating a small occasion. Weekend hungry and order it doesn't oysters, the lamb meatballs and ahi tuna tacos. We did not try any drinks or beverages but the menu looks pretty nice. Definitely coming back to try them. Ziba's has been on my list for a while and I'm so happy I finally got to give it a go. Decided to try this after a long day of work and it did not disappoint. I sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me immediately. She was super helpful in guiding me through the menu on faves and helping me narrow down choices. I ordered oysters, a French 75, and Thai chili mussels. Highlight: The Thai chili mussels!! They were absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of spice/kick, I cleaned the bowl lol. Suddenly tonight when I dined in my server slipped in a 20% "to-go" charge on my bill, didn't tell me about it, and when I asked about it he simply offered "oh, we do that on Mondays now" So, only on Mondays you charge dine in customers a "to go" charge, without making them aware of it? My husband treated me to lunch at Ziba's for Mother's Day and it was quite nice! I never even knew this place existed, it's easy to miss if your driving down Boulevard as it's kind of tucked away in the corner. I'm not sure if it's like this on a normal day, but for this occasion the atmosphere was cozy and romantic. It was mid day but once you walked into the restaurant it felt like date night on a late summer evening. The lighting was dim and each tabletop was illuminated with candles and adorned with fresh, beautiful flowers. The service was good, we were greeted immediately and seated shortly after. The menu consisted of small bites, salads, an assortment of mussels, main courses, and desserts. I decided on an empanada as an appetizer ($7.88), Bichon for my cocktail ($12.88), the whole fish ($36.88) as my main, and a key lime pie ($5.88) for dessert. **Empanada 7/10 the portion size was huge. It was good but not the best empanada I've ever had. It had huge chunks of chicken which I would've preferred either shredded or simply cut smaller. It was served with salsa verde for dipping that was a bit bland. **Bichon cocktail 1/10 I definitely wouldn't order this again. I'm usually a margarita on the rocks drinker but decided to try something different. The waitress recommended this cocktail based on what I usually drink. The taste was ok but the flavor was very weak. Tasted almost watered down. I should've stuck with my usual. **The whole fish 8/10 the branzino was a nice size and the entire dish as a whole was very flavorful. **Key lime pie 9/10 the taste was amazing but the portion was small. I also would've liked more graham cracker crust on the pie. The pie to crust ratio was "off". I can see myself back at Ziba's in the future and would recommend them to others as well. read more

One of my favorite hidden gems in Atlanta! This dimly lit restaurant has some of the best food in the city. My favorites are the oysters and spicy shrimp (the sauce is so good). Spice and Spirit: A Rye Whiskey Experience hosted by Dad's Whiskey Stash owned by Jason. The whiskey tasting was $35 plus tax at Ziba's Restaurant and Wine bar. We got a complimentary whiskey drink four Rye Whiskeys and a mini charcuterie board for the table. Ziba has street parking only. You can only park on the side streets. Jason was an amazing teacher. He did a great job hosting the tasting. The group truly enjoyed sharing our thoughts on the various whiskeys. We tasted the following whiskeys: * Laws Straight Rye * Uncle Nearest Rye * Resurgence Rye * Rye & Son's Rye Whiskey I got to order additional food from the menu. The oysters were pretty good. They came with crackers, mini hot sauce, cocktail, and horseradish sauce. The oysters tasted pretty fresh. A friend ordered the bread pudding. It was amazing. Definitely give it a try. Another friend ordered the beignets. They were disappointing. They tasted like unglazed donuts, nothing like a beignet. I would definitely go to another tasting hosted by Dad's Whiskey Stash. Ziba's is a true hidden gem in Grant Park! I usually go on Monday for date night and it is truly the cutest place. The dim lighting and brick make me feel like I'm in NYC for some reason! It had spinach, avocado, hard boiled egg, feta, and bacon with Greek feta dressing. My kind of salad! So... let's talk about Ziba's. What drew us here was a $1 oyster night, what made us sick were the very poorly shucked oysters - I'm talking huge chunks of shell missing and still being served which is a health hazard in and of itself - and the prices of all the food and drink items ending in .88 For those who don't know, 1488 is a number that calls in Nazis and their white supremacist sympathizers. The 88 specifically means "heil h*tler". It's also conveniently the price of one of their signature drinks, very disgusted that a restaurant would use Nazi symbolism on their menu while touting themselves as a family friendly space. This is deceptive, disgusting, and downright racist, Ziba's you should be wholly ashamed of yourselves. This place is Grant Parks best kept blight; it's best to steer clear as there are many other affordable oyster joints in the city that are (hopefully) not racist. read more

Great food, great service- great outdoor atmosphere. I love a warm spring evening here- grab small plates, a drink and people watch in Grant Park. My favorite small plate, Chicken Kabob but I also recommend the Spicy Shrimp which arrives in a bowl much larger than you expect with bread. My husband recommends the Ahi Tuna Tacos (I don't like raw fish but it looked prepared well so I ordered it anyway. It reconfirmed, I do not like raw fish) The salads are huge-add the smoked Salmon and you have a full meal. Service was great- our server (Leon) was very patient(I take a long time to review a menu) He almost tempted me with the dessert menu but my drink(The Bichon) was dessert and worth the $12 because it was large and not a small drink. Went for their $1 oyster night, was reminded that you get what you pay for. Oysters were served in a tray of ice that was half melted by the time it arrived at the table, meaning both the oysters and sauce were very watery. Because the ice was whole cubes instead of the crushed ice you would expect, the oysters that were not waterlogged were instead not very cold. They also gave us fewer forks than members of our party, fewer crackers than oysters, and we had to ask for napkins which we didn't receive until we were done with our meal? Anyways, I'm hoping the preparation is done by a different staff member than whoever is responsible for plating the food as otherwise I think I can expect to spend tomorrow kneeling in front of my toilet. Wow! I was blown away by the quality of this place. It's been years since I've dined at this place, and this experience might have been better than the last. We initially had dinner reservations for 6:45 pm but we arrived around 6:30 and were seated right away. Our server was super friendly and walked us through the menu. For drinks, we got the Bishon (perfect amount of sweet and bitter with a hint of mint) and French 75 and started off with chicken kabobs. The kabobs came in 3 pieces served with cucumber and a cucumber yogurt sauce. Chicken was super tender and juicy and had good flavor. For our entrees, I ordered mussels and my fiancé ordered the jambalaya. Mussels was big enough to share between two people. The sauce had tons of shallots and garlic in a super creamy sauce and was served with baguette and fries. Jambalaya was a good size portion too with tons of protein - sausage, shrimp and chicken. The restaurant definitely was a full house by the time we left so I recommend to make reservations or get there earlier. The service did slow down once they got busy but that's understandable. 14 Jan 2021 My wife and I were out walking the dogs in Grant Park and decided to stop in with our pugs (outside seating, of course) and we are glad we did. Upon arrival - about 5:30ish on a Thursday night - we were greeted very warmly by the owner and a member of the wait staff, and their customer service is unparalleled. They sat us in a corner with a heater since it was a little cold, everyone came out to see our pugs, and brought us draft beers and waters. They have a Tex-Mex menu every second week of the month so we had tortillas and salsa as an appetizer. The salsa is stupid good, very spicy and a little hit but in a good way. For our main course we ordered for me a Fancy Burger, which is a hand patted sirloin beef patty with bacon, lettuce tomato and some specialty sauce on brioche - absolutely delicious, and the side of fries are seasoned and fresh and excellent. My wife had the 3 enchilada meal with rice, these enchiladas are not your average enchilada - loaded with onion, lettuce, purple onion, and some other stuff but my wife could only finish one, and they were really good, especially for a restaurant that doesn't do Mexican every day. I don't give many 5 stars out, especially since this crappy Covid hit, but they are managing to stay a very good place to hang and eat despite the pandemic. Location is one block away from Grant Park which means we will be back frequently. I wish I had gotten the waitress and owners names, but they were wonderful ladies. One last item I would like to mention: I don't think they normally give military discount but they gave it to us, and we felt really bad about that since so many places are struggling around the world, so I think that overall I would have to give this place and staff 5+ stars. I believe they have a GoFundMe set up to help them get through the pandemic so I will definitely both continue to go back and also will donate to their GoFundMe. They deserve to stay in business and we need more people and places like this. If the owner sees this I would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for the great service and chow and overall wonderful experience. We'll see you soon. My friends were very excited to take me to the "Best Kept Secret in Grant Park" and this place is definitely a gem. The atmosphere is great and the food was even better. It is definitely unassuming from the outside, but it is very special inside. We ate with two little kids and Ziba's had a small but ample kids menu. The food was really good for kids food (I stole some pasta and French fried). For dinner, I got the Jambalaya with Shrimp, Chicken, and Andouille. It was very good and huge portion. It came with an awesome slice of spicy cornbread that was served warm. My friends got the Barbacoa and Avocado Salad which also looked amazing. I'm knocking a star for price. The food was much more expensive than I would have guessed and they even charged for soda refills (which was not explained beforehand). The service was also lackluster but they seemed to be short staffed. All in all, I would recommend it. Ziba's offers great atmosphere for a special occasion or a simple night out with date or family. The sign out front says "Grant Park's best kept secret", and they're not wrong! The relaxed ambience, attentive service, reasonable wine selection, and wide variety of dishes allows for very down-to-earth yet classy dining experience.
