Ziba's has been on my list for a while and I'm so happy I finally got to give it a go. Decided to try this after a long day of work and it did not disappoint. I sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me immediately. She was super helpful in guiding me through the menu on faves and helping me narrow down choices. I ordered oysters, a French 75, and Thai chili mussels. Highlight: The Thai chili mussels!! They were absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of spice/kick, I cleaned the bowl lol. Lowlight: The ambiance in Zibas is very dim lighting. Not a terrible thing but not my favorite during the day. It is a perfect spot for date night though. I'll definitely be back!

My husband treated me to lunch at Ziba's for Mother's Day and it was quite nice! I never even knew this place existed, it's easy to miss if your driving down Boulevard as it's kind of tucked away in the corner. I'm not sure if it's like this on a normal day, but for this occasion the atmosphere was cozy and romantic. It was mid day but once you walked into the restaurant it felt like date night on a late summer evening. The lighting was dim and each tabletop was illuminated with candles and adorned with fresh, beautiful flowers. The service was good, we were greeted immediately and seated shortly after. The menu consisted of small bites, salads, an assortment of mussels, main courses, and desserts. I decided on an empanada as an appetizer ($7.88), Bichon for my cocktail ($12.88), the whole fish ($36.88) as my main, and a key lime pie ($5.88) for dessert. **Empanada 7/10 the portion size was huge. It was good but not the best empanada I've ever had. It had huge chunks of chicken which I would've preferred either shredded or simply cut smaller. It was served with salsa verde for dipping that was a bit bland. **Bichon cocktail 1/10 I definitely wouldn't order this again. I'm usually a margarita on the rocks drinker but decided to try something different. The waitress recommended this cocktail based on what I usually drink. The taste was ok but the flavor was very weak. Tasted almost watered down. I should've stuck with my usual. **The whole fish 8/10 the branzino was a nice size and the entire dish as a whole was very flavorful. **Key lime pie 9/10 the taste was amazing but the portion was small. I also would've liked more graham cracker crust on the pie. The pie to crust ratio was "off". I can see myself back at Ziba's in the future and would recommend them to others as well.

    Rye Whiskey Tasting Setup

Spice and Spirit: A Rye Whiskey Experience hosted by Dad's Whiskey Stash owned by Jason. The whiskey tasting was $35 plus tax at Ziba's Restaurant and Wine bar. We got a complimentary whiskey drink four Rye Whiskeys and a mini charcuterie board for the table. Ziba has street parking only. You can only park on the side streets. Jason was an amazing teacher. He did a great job hosting the tasting. The group truly enjoyed sharing our thoughts on the various whiskeys. We tasted the following whiskeys: * Laws Straight Rye * Uncle Nearest Rye * Resurgence Rye * Rye & Son's Rye Whiskey I got to order additional food from the menu. The oysters were pretty good. They came with crackers, mini hot sauce, cocktail, and horseradish sauce. The oysters tasted pretty fresh. A friend ordered the bread pudding. It was amazing. Definitely give it a try. Another friend ordered the beignets. They were disappointing. They tasted like unglazed donuts, nothing like a beignet. I would definitely go to another tasting hosted by Dad's Whiskey Stash. Thanks for a great time, Jason!! Your wife is the best.

Love the atmosphere. This restaurant has timeless charm and romantic ambiance. I got a half spinach salad with salmon, and it was AMAZING! It had spinach, avocado, hard boiled egg, feta, and bacon with Greek feta dressing. My kind of salad! They don't know what gluten is but they have lots of gluten free options, by virtue of the fact that it's Mediterranean food. I heard that the chicken kebob and mussles are good too. There's free street parking nearby.

Great food, great service- great outdoor atmosphere. I love a warm spring evening here- grab small plates, a drink and people watch in Grant Park. My favorite small plate, Chicken Kabob but I also recommend the Spicy Shrimp which arrives in a bowl much larger than you expect with bread. My husband recommends the Ahi Tuna Tacos (I don't like raw fish but it looked prepared well so I ordered it anyway. It reconfirmed, I do not like raw fish) The salads are huge-add the smoked Salmon and you have a full meal. Service was great- our server (Leon) was very patient(I take a long time to review a menu) He almost tempted me with the dessert menu but my drink(The Bichon) was dessert and worth the $12 because it was large and not a small drink. The restroom did feel a bit tight like in a dungeon but besides this the restaurant is beautiful.

    Mussels and jambalaya

Wow! I was blown away by the quality of this place. It's been years since I've dined at this place, and this experience might have been better than the last. We initially had dinner reservations for 6:45 pm but we arrived around 6:30 and were seated right away. Our server was super friendly and walked us through the menu. For drinks, we got the Bishon (perfect amount of sweet and bitter with a hint of mint) and French 75 and started off with chicken kabobs. The kabobs came in 3 pieces served with cucumber and a cucumber yogurt sauce. Chicken was super tender and juicy and had good flavor. For our entrees, I ordered mussels and my fiancé ordered the jambalaya. Mussels was big enough to share between two people. The sauce had tons of shallots and garlic in a super creamy sauce and was served with baguette and fries. Jambalaya was a good size portion too with tons of protein - sausage, shrimp and chicken. The restaurant definitely was a full house by the time we left so I recommend to make reservations or get there earlier. The service did slow down once they got busy but that's understandable. Can't wait to come back here for our next dinner night out.

Ziba's is such an amazing place. More than a neighborhood spot. More than a convenient location. Literally a place you can call yours. The staff is always outstanding. The food is always good. And the French 75s are perfect. I've had the bow tie pasta. Very good. My favorite so far is the whole fish with artichokes and pita bread. Give us a try. It's worth it.

Side Saddle plays to its strengths and coasts on the rest: inventive, genuinely fun drinks (some land, some don't) and food that's perfectly serviceable but not why you'd come. My friend and I stopped in on a Monday night for a quick drink and bite before a concert. My friend lives nearby, but I had never been. It's a newer spot close to the zoo, right on the Beltline and attached to an apartment complex (you can even order food to the pool). Seating is primarily outdoor with a limited indoor section that's mostly high tops, so better suited to a pair or small group than a big crew. It was a hot day, so we grabbed seats at the bar inside. Service was so, so kind, and I really can't say enough about how warm and attentive our bartender was. The bathroom was also spotless, and there's a play area next to outdoor seating, so this would actually be a solid hangout spot if you're bringing kids along. The drink menu is where this place really shines. My friend ordered the Smoke Show, which uses something called corn milk (totally dairy-free) and turns into a smoky mezcal drink that was easily our favorite of the night. I got the GB Garden, a martini-style pour with a mignonette gin and tomato-water. The punchiness of the mignonette gin came through very strongly and kind of steamrolled the tomato water, but it was still fun, savory, and unique. My friend also vouched for the wine list from previous visits, though we didn't drink any this time. Pricing feels really reasonable for Atlanta: classic cocktails are $10 during the (very generous) happy hour, and neither of our signature cocktails was more than $16. For food we split two of the dips on the bartender's recommendation: the herby goat cheese and the eggplant, both served with crudité, a lavash-style cracker, and thinly sliced focaccia. Dips are around $7 each with a discount if you get a trio. My friend had tried a few other things on other visits and said they were serviceable but not memorable. Fine as a light snacky meal, but nothing I'd cross town for. Parking is free in the attached lot, though there isn't a ton of it. Great neighborhood spot for locals. I wouldn't drive across the city for it, but I'd absolutely come back if I'm in the area.

The restaurant is behind an apartment complex, and parking is available for a small fee using the QR code. I also enjoyed a margarita; they had live music to celebrate the opening of the beltline, which really set off the entire experience. Service The staff was friendly and helped with drink recommendations. Verdict I'll be back!

I've visited countless times, often multiple times a week, with friends, family, and colleagues. We consistently ordered generously and tipped well. Unfortunately, a recent experience has led my husband and I to decide we will no longer spend another dollar here, personally or for business. While sitting on the bar side, minding my own business, I was repeatedly harassed by a visibly intoxicated woman who deliberately sat next to me to start trouble. She stared at me continuously, and made unsolicited, offensive assumptions about my marriage. My husband was sitting to my left, completely unaware of what was transpiring as he was listening to some music through his Meta glasses. I initially ignored the woman's behavior and tried to laugh it off because I simply came to eat in peace. However, the situation escalated when she began directing inappropriate questions toward my husband and attempting to provoke him. Despite her continued escalation, other patrons jumped in to defend her and one even threatened my husband, portraying her as the victim. When we attempted to explain the situation to Jason (who I believe is the bar manager), rather than hearing us out, we were told the police were being called on us. We were not the aggressors and did nothing wrong. It was deeply frustrating to be dismissed and treated as though we were at fault when we were only defending ourselves. What makes this experience especially upsetting is that we have always been respectful, trouble-free patrons for 13 years! The bar staff that evening was dismissive and, at times, rude. There was no apparent effort to address how this intoxicated individual was disrupting the environment, continuing to insult my husband, and repeatedly putting her hand in his face to provoke him. To my knowledge, she was never asked to leave nor threatened with police involvement. She left only when she chose to. Only the server who brought out our food showed any level of concern or professionalism. The bartenders and another staff member in the back (a bald person, don't know their role) made it clear we were not welcome and ultimately called the police. We are owed an apology. While I don't expect one, I'm leaving this review to warn other customers (especially people of color) to be mindful of how quickly a place you've supported for years can turn on you and how we're quickly seen as the problem just because we get loud when we've been disrespected. I would strongly advise going to another place in the neighborhood like The Beverly if you want to avoid situations like the one we experienced. After more than a decade of loyal support, we understand the value we bring as customers and as people. Respect should never be conditional or situational. When a business fails to protect that basic standard, it's our responsibility to set boundaries and take our patronage where it's valued.
