You'll hear stories about Hawaii 5-0 filming on location, but the star-studded notoriety pales in comparison to the way Sooz and Richard make you feel at home, whether it's your wedding, special event, birthday party, or other intimate occasion. Steps from the water, you can hear and feel the ocean lapping at the shore while you enjoy the sunset on the sand or watch a movie under the stars. And be prepared to have fun, because Sooz and Richard know how to throw a party. The 60s party is one of our particular favorites! Finally, Yogi will be there to greet you, tail wagging and a gentle smile on his adorable face... This is our absolute favorite place for an event, with Auntie and Uncle we adore...We so recommend checking out the place for yourself!

So our wedding was a 5/5 experience but management is definitely old school and could use a lot of work. There is no texting, only a landline, and an email to work with. Good luck reaching anyone via email. To have a 6 hour wedding with 50 people, it costs roughly 10k for the space (about average when you factor in lighting, furniture and seating at other venues) but you have to pay for you own prep time. Only an hour is complimentary, so if you want to add any personal touches at all you basically need to pay for that time. Considering you're paying 10k, the fact that one is not allowed to leave decor at the venue is super unreasonable. There was no event going on the day prior except for our own rehearsal. So we were to bring everything we could on our own day of, and beg our wedding planner to help. They claimed it was for "liability purpose" yet I was allowed to leave my dress grossing 2800 at the venue and not my $10 box of flowers... and the lightning that was already hanging cost $750 to allegedly rehang. Who knows why that needed $750. There were claims that there was not enough space to leave any belongings or purchase enough chairs for my guests, but from what I can see it's just badly organized. There's a massive stack of CDs in front of the bridal room coated with so much dust you can barely read the titles. There's all kinds of knick knacks everywhere by the piano. The dust in the bridal room is bore line scary when you look closely, the chandelier had dead flowers and cobwebs. The frames are coated with dust. Again, the wedding itself was beautiful but for 10k you'd think someone could be paid $200 to come in there to clean. I sincerely have no idea what my 10k went towards since the Morgage on the house is non existent according to Zillow. Emails were rarely answered in a timely manner, which is tough if you're a bride organizing almost everything. and their sweet sweet dog who was advertised as a ring bearer apparently only performed this service one time prior and got side tracked and pulled my flower girl into the bushes. I love that kind of silliness and don't blame the dog one bit. But it certainly feels like false advertising to say that this dog is willing to do the service but come day of my planner told me of all the weddings she'd aided there, she's never seen it happen once. We had a great wedding, but it's massively overpriced for how little effort is going in on the home owner's end. A beautiful scam. 3 stars for my guest's wonderful experience but not to my own chaotic one.

It has a huge yard right on the ocean with spectacular sunset views. People should be aware that pretty much all you're getting for your money is the location and scenery. The house has an old Hawaiian feel with large rooms and open architecture. It was built in 1964 and actually has a total of 10 bedrooms; however, there are only 6 bedrooms and 4 baths available for rental. The other bedrooms are either rented out separately, or the owner lives in them. Even though there is a large parking area, carport, and garage, there are only 4 spaces available when you rent the 6 bed, 4 bath part of the house. There is street parking available about 200 yds. away, but you have to walk on the shoulder of a very busy highway. The driveway entrance to the house is also on this same busy highway, so getting in and out is not easy. We were disappointed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the house. We had to wash the large sliding glass doors and several of the windows in prominent areas. Some of the screens in the bedrooms had large tears. There were several large mirrors in the dining room - one of which was cracked. There were not enough towels for all the guests - some bathrooms had no towels, and we had to supply our own. There was an odd collection of dishes and really not enough of them considering the number of people that could stay there. The dishwasher was not attached to the underside of the countertop, so every time we opened the door, the dishwasher would tilt forward, and dishes would spill out. We actually had to weed-wack a large area of the back lawn (right outside the back door where all the guests would be) where there were 12" tall grass weeds sticking up. The entrance to the house is a courtyard where there is a pool which is not very inviting since the bottom looks like it needs to be cleaned and refinished. Nobody wanted to go in the pool. Basically, this is an old island house that really needs some TLC. Also, be sure to read the rental pricing carefully. Paying $1,500/night to rent the place does not allow you to hold any events while you're there. There is an additional $3,000 fee if you want to hold an event. We were aware of that, so it wasn't a problem, but that extra cost should be considered if you're planning an event.

In late 2023, we had calls with around ten wedding planners/coordinators and out of all those great choices, we had our heart set on Amanda. Right off the bat, she was SO easy to talk to and made me feel so comfortable. I've heard of many "wedding planner horror stories" and I felt so comfortable during our consultation call to voice my concerns/worries. She described her own process to me and what I should expect which reassured me that this wasn't going to be the case with her. Amanda was the head/sole planner throughout the entire process compared to other places starting off with one planner and then midway getting assigned another planner that would be taking over for the rest which also reassured me that details, big and small, wouldn't be lost along the way. We knew she'd be a perfect fit for us. The planning process included little to no stress because of her! She is very knowledgeable about vendors, our venue's layout and needs, rules, etc. Of course she was extremely helpful in narrowing down our vendor choices (we had an all-star vendor team), but she also took a lot of the stress away thinking about all the logistics and small details I wouldn't have even thought about it if I was trying to do this on my own! She also was respectful of our budget even though my husband and I decided to go over lol, but even though we were over she still suggested different ways to save which all worked out in our favor. Her other strengths are her creativity and design taste. Even when we couldn't envision it, she would and we trusted her fully. There was a reason I was drawn to her after looking at her website and Instagram. There were times throughout the process where I'd get stressed since I am a worry wart, but she always reassured me that everything will work out and that we actually do have enough time. Our check-in calls always felt like talking to a good friend, while still being professional. I loved that about her! Wedding week came and Amanda was able to help us plan our welcome party. She came early to help set up and ensure our rentals came on time and I had everything that I needed. It was a huge success! We wrapped up a couple small details and again, she took care of it all so that we could relax a little. As for the big day... that day was literally a DREAM. I was mentally preparing myself for any possible mishaps to occur like they usually do, but there wasn't even any mishaps that we noticed! We were just a tad bit behind on our timeline and a lot more of our guests ended up taking our transportation than we had accounted for, but they adapted quickly and took care of everything for us. That's how much Amanda and her team were on it right away, so much so, that day went flawless to us. Were so in awe with how beautiful everything turned out. They always made sure we also ate, had drinks in our hand, hydrated, and even sat and fanned the flies away from our food while we continued to take pictures (s/o to the Bellas x2). 4 months later and our guests are still talking about how beautiful our day was and we seriously cannot thank Amanda and her Savvy team enough for everything as they executed our dream wedding. We look back at our all photos and we're sad that we just want to keep reliving the day over and over. Thank you for an amazing day we will never ever forget!

Went online to submit order for my granddaughter's birthday party- a lot of pics and designs to choose from with very reasonable prices. Leslie, co-owner, communicates right away and will ask questions to make sure you get the best item for your party- is it indoor our outdoor, windy area, beach, how large is the stage, things like that so she can make suggestions which will work better for your party. Things we may not be aware of since they've done thousands of parties all over the island and continent. They know all the party venues, hotels, convention center, cultural centers, restaurants, etc that people have parties at, so it makes it easy for you too because they have info and experience that we may not be aware of. Philip contacted me immediately after I submitted online request and we nailed down the details. He texted a week before so I could make payment and reconfirm details and make sure nothing changed. Philip arrived as promised in the cool van advertising the company and brought exactly what we talked about. Setting up for us, tying on balloon clusters, explaining what works best for life of balloons, and even brought an extra one in case the heat wasn't kind. They give you an option of having them return to pick up balloon stands (we had two columns outdoors so needed to be on the metal stands) or to save the extra fee, you may return it to Hawaii Kai. Oh and they also rent helium tanks! Mahalo Jamie, Leslie and Philip for creating beautiful balloon art and being so easy to work with!
