    Bacon croissant breakfast sandwich (1/2)

I adore this coffee shop. It's so sweet and both the food and drinks are delectable. They also have scoops of ice cream and coffee drinks that are made with ice cream. Very comfortable dining area and a nice set up of tables outside to relax and watch the traffic on the Columbia River. Very pleasant staff.

Cozy little cafe with nice seats outside. Today was a lovely weather so that's where I decided to sit. Coffee is ok at best but the sandwich was great. I ordered Chicken, Spinach & Artichoke and it was bussin. The wait time was the reason I took down a star though. Both coffee and sandwich took a while.

    Cinnamon Roll

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, this cinnamon roll was inedible. I tried a little bit of the frosting and it was musty. It tasted and smelled like it had been sitting out for days collecting dust so we just had to throw it away. The service was meh as we weren't greeted upon entering. They have games you can use while hanging out when you are there which is nice.

Stopped by for a cup of tea and a sweet treat at this cozy, friendly coffee house. I had the Marionberey coffee cake and my companion had carrot cake. Both were fresh and delicious. My marionberry coffee cake was luscious with cream cheese and berry filling. It was a special treat. As I ordered my tea the guy who took my order asked what size I wanted. As I was deciding he said, "We charge by the tea bag, not the cup size, so get a big one!" I appreciated that. When my tea came it was CRAZY hot. I loved that it was hot enough to give the tea a good brew. We will go back here! Next time I plan to get a coffee from their extensive list of specialty flavors.

    Breakfast burrito (small)

I've been on the hunt for good coffee shops in the Vancouver area, so I came to check out Savona. The interior is super cozy and homey. Most of the seating options are for group seating (multiple tables pushed together, large couches), but there are a couple solo tables. For the most part, Savona is pretty quiet and a good spot to get some work done. The coffee was pretty good but a bit pricey. I had a breakfast burrito as well, and to be honest, was not very impressed. The small sized burrito was in fact, quite small, and was pretty tasteless. I still give 4 stars for vibes and location (sits right next to the river, perfect spot to hit before/after a stroll!).

Stopped by the Savona Coffee house for one of there world famous Affogato treats. This one had a double shot over a creamy sweet vanilla ice cream. It was a perfect blending of the two. The slight hint of bitterness from the espresso shots blended very smoothly with the creamy texture and sweet flavor of the in house vanilla ice cream. After the ice cream melted down a bit it tasted like a better version of a vanilla latte. We came at the end of the day with ten minutes before close. The young lady that helped us was a little intense and seemed ready to go home for the day. I certainly get it. Anyway...we love this place and will continue to come back again and again.

Great Barista, he asked me about the amount of ice, and the amount of milk added to my double shot. Most don't ask.

So, I won't lie, I had REALLY high expectations when I chose this out of all the other options for "dinner". I. Am. Blown. Away. The waitress was patient and answered all my questions. The place is small but clean. They run out of their seasonal, so be aware. My husband paid while I went to the bathroom and he kinda made a comment about 25 bucks for two ice creams, which surprised me as well. Until she gave us the ice cream. My Mt St Helens was three largish scoops with a delightfully large amount of toppings. His ice cream cone came in one of the largest cones I've ever seen. It's thicker and crispier than commercial so I think they make their cones in house! But the rockstar is the ice cream itself. I grew up in the area and so I'm very familiar with northwest flavors. This ice cream is like my childhood in a scoop. The ice cream has enough fats to give a nice mouth feel and I'm not even sure they use Guar gum or carrageenan. The honey tastes local. Even the raspberry syrup tastes like raspberries off the side of a country road that are ripe but not too ripe. That sweet sour taste. If you are traveling through or a guest of this town, you have to try the ice cream.

They have a nice canvas sail overhead to give some shade for seating. The inside is super small. Not what I was expecting. It was similar to Salt & Straw on the Vancouver Waterfront. It's definitely a grab and go type of establishment. I didn't see any baked goods displayed at all. Maybe they've done away with those options?! They had a nice variety of ice-cream flavors to choose from, including non-dairy selections. They also had floats. I decided on the single scoop Mint Cookies & Cream. It was absolutely delicious, and fresh! No freezer burn whatsoever, and plenty of cookies throughout. The mint flavor wasn't too overpowering either. It was the perfect after lunch treat! Staff was okay. Not super friendly at all. She didn't say much when I walked in either. I was the only one in there. It looked like you could sample some of their flavors too, but I wasn't sure if the extra interaction was welcomed. Definitely a different customer service vibe than Salt & Straw; their employees are so friendly and personable. Overall an okay experience. The ice-cream was delicious, but customer service lacking.

Assam Black Milk Tea, Regular Size, 50% Sweet, Less Ice, Non-Dairy Creamer w/ Boba ($7.20) - The milk tea has a good body and is shaken until foam develops on the surface. The Assam tea base tastes fruity, almost a bit like plum, mixed with plenty of malt essence. It's not too sweet at half and is generally good to drink. The boba is a little firm for my tastes, but is mostly acceptable. The pearls are smaller than normal boba, not mini sized, but probably could expand a bit more with more boil and soak time. They do have good, consistently smooth exteriors. Note: Less ice is still a lot of ice Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Softea serves some decent boba. I wish they put in a little less ice, but there are certainly worse options in Vancouver. Bathrooms - Single unisex room.

Our server was friendly and quick. She answered questions and described the specials. They have gluten free focaccia!!!! It was super yummy, but it was also served kinda cold. Worth it. We ordered the fresh catch, which was halibut with some potatoes and grilled asparagus. The accompanying sauces were delicious. The asparagus was good. The white potatoes though had been cooked previously and weren't reheated enough. They were described as new potatoes but were definitely large chunks of russets. They were hard to eat. So we didn't. We also had the Punta di Fesa which is a braised beef dish with mushrooms on polenta. The balsamic mushrooms and polenta were so flavorful and delicious. It was a good thing that my husband started with this dish (we traded halfway through and had plenty to eat!) because I would have eaten his share of the polenta too. The beef however was dry and not what I would have expected from a braised beef. When we were given a knife, we were told we probably wouldn't need it. We did. The service here was friendly and helpful. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten free needs and recommended a great bottle of wine that went well with our fish AND the beef (which is tricky...yummy Chianti AND half price!). It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 7. There were people that ended up waiting but not too long. There are shelves of Italian goods all around you. My husband said he felt like he was eating in a store. You kind of are, but it was still cozy. I plan to come back to try the gluten free pasta and maybe a lunch sandwich if they have solid gf options there. Also, the dessert menu looked great. We were just full.
