    4" Jelly Bubble 奶茶宝宝

2.5 stars I ordered a mochi cake online for pickup at the bakery. Parking can be a bit hectic in this plaza, but don't worry, there's underground parking if surface-level spots are taken. When I walked into the bakery, the young man working there quickly looked up at me and then back down to his task of putting stickers on boxes. Since he wasn't going to greet me or ask if there was anything he could help me with, I let him know that I was there to pick up an order. He finally got up from his seat and said something, but it was almost a whisper. I had the order number ready, but that wasn't what he was looking for. He spoke a bit louder to ask for the phone number associated with the order. I gave him the number, and once he found the right cake, he put it on the counter and that was it. I really enjoyed the mochi cake - the flavours were spot on. I wish they had used actual tapioca pearls instead of jelly boba, though. I'm not sure if this particular employee was having a bad day or if he's always like that.

I got the strawberry mochi cake and it was so delicious. Not to mention also so cute! The cream was fragrant and light and the cake was fluffy. The mochi makes the cake a little heavy but was a unique touch. I got the small size and it is perfect for 2-3 people. I would definitely order this again and can't wait to try some of their other cakes.

I keep coming back for two things: the matcha and the mochi. The matcha has a bright, grassy aroma with a smooth finish and just enough sweetness. Service is efficient, and the shop feels tidy and calm.

Cheese pull? What about mochi pull! Came here to try the gelato daifuku and wow the mochi brought me back to Japan. The stretch and softness of it was delicious and you can tell how fresh it is. It's pricey at $7 for a small cup but I would get it again. It's a small bakery with only a few tables. If you are into Jellycat, they have a jelly cat chestnut cake. It's a cute design that makes you want to smile with it.

My wife's all-time favourite mochi place and I can see why. Stopped by this location since it has the icecream offerings and got: - Durian Mochi Ball: Loved this. Cream had a strong durian flavour. The mochi casing was sticky and stretchy like all good mochi should be. - Gelato Daifuku: Got the Hong Kong milktea brownie in an original mochi. The gelato was pretty tasty, though I've had better (to be fair, those were in gelato shops). And of course, the yummy mochi casing again. A bit small though for the price. - Mont Blanc Parfait: Not a big fan. Could it be because this had no mochi to it? Service was pretty quick. There are a few small tables but this is mainly a takeout spot. I'll be back for anything mochi-based.

I've gotten their mochi jelly cakes a few times and sure always a hit! The cakes are adorable and so delicious. I've also gotten their moon cakes before and mochis. I appreciate that they're open late!

The Markham location is a tiny Japanese-inspired dessert shop located in one of the plazas on Highway 7. The service here was average, however the Montblanc Parfait, and Strawberry Sakura Mochi (limited time item) were delicious. When I went, there was a group of maybe 8 crowding the space with 4 occupying the seats, and 4 standing by the tables, and sort of blocking the counter, which made it a little stuffy. There's plenty of free parking out front, and there is a washroom located on the P1 level of the building. Given the narrow shop space, and lack of automatic doors, this bakery would not be considered wheelchair accessible.

The cutest cake! The flavours complimented each other very well together, and it wasn't too sweet! The perfect cake to bring for a gathering. We ordered for pick up assuming it would take bit but was done and ready within 10 mins. There are other desserts to check out as well! Especially their mochi ice cream!

I tried out the Mango Grapefruit and the Chestnut Mochi Bubble. Both of them were good. Very similar to other Yelper's POV, the Mango Grapefruit certainly stood out from the others. Tiny bits of grapefruit gave out a great refreshing fruity sensation. Absolutely delightful. Nice color, beautifully made. The real fruit taste would totally justify its price. Try their mochi bubbles. Honestly, really good stuff.

Jelly chestnut tiramisu cake (mochi on the outside, cake in the inside)

Got the trending jelly cake for my partner's birthday and she absolutely loved it. Jelly cake is basically mochi on the outside and cake in the inside. Never thought the combination would work but it does! I got the 4" jelly chestnut tiramisu (吉栗宝宝) which serves 3-4 people. The flavour of the chestnut from his "hair" and also chestnut pieces. Tiramisu flavour in the inside was really good as well. If you want a fun twist on a cake whether for an occasion or just a dessert, I recommend giving jelly cake as Savorology a try. It's literally the cutest thing to eat! I appreciate them going the extra mile to write happy birthday which was nice of them to do. Place is a bit small with maybe 3 staff, so when it gets busy, just be patient as they're doing their best.

    Pure hazelnut mochi cake

Great presentation for some delicious mochi. The flavours and texture for the mochi bubbles are amazing, but I wasn't a fan of the hazelnut mochi cake because the filling was an odd texture, halfway between a cake and ice cream. It took about 10 minutes to get our order. I think many people ordered the mochi wrapped ice cream which looked amazing, I would come back to try that. Parking overall wasn't bad for a weekend night, but the space is small and there are only 3 tables available with two seats each so definitely more of a takeout spot.

Savorology Artisan Bakery is located in Liberty Square. It occupies the old OneZo Tapioca location on the north side. This plaza has a high turnover of businesses, especially bubble tea. I hope that this place doesn't fold. It is known for its daifuku (gelato wrapped in mochi). I've dropped by a couple of times for desserts and enjoyed them. I have had the following items: - Iced coconut latte - Matcha gelato daifuku (twice) - Tiramisu mille crepe cake Guess how many items I have dropped because I go through klutzy spurts? Two. More details on those incidents are to come. Staff here are always friendly and helpful when I drop by. I like watching my daifuku being made. I see everything from the mochi being rolled out, to the finished daifuku placed in a small cup. This bakery is cute and cool. You can get gelato, cake, beverages, and more. There are a few tables and chairs to sit down and enjoy your desserts. The downside to have a rather generously sized daifuku in a small cup is that gravity kicks in and the daifuku falls when you try your best to hold the cup. It happened to me while I was in my car. It landed on my lap, so the five-second rule applied. A larger cup would work better for folks like me. The matcha gelato was yummy. It wasn't terribly sweet and the matcha flavour had a decent strength that I enjoy. The mochi was super stretchy and enjoyable to eat. On the other hand, it was all me dropping my tiramisu mille crepe cake in its box in my car. Yes, I'm fortunate that both incidents happened in my car. The packaging was sturdy that my slice of cake was fully intact. It felt onto the passenger floor of my car, so it wasn't horrible. I loved my crepe cake, despite missing some cream on top. The layers were skillfully stacked. It tasted like tiramisu. I liked it because it wasn't heavy. I've also had an iced coconut latte. I loved it. The coconut flavour was delicious. It was perfect masking a lot of the coffee taste. I am not a coffee person. If you're like me, this drink works nicely. It was refreshing and cold on a hot, summery evening. This place had an affogato on the menu. I've never had one. I need to give it a try when I'm back here again. I also saw mooncakes. I'm not sure if they are seasonal or offered year-round. (409)

Stumbled upon an IG foodie story about a daifuku (mochi) ice cream and had to try it out. I got the chocolate one, to share with my daughter (she's a chocolate lover). The mochi is already made, but they roll it out and put the scoop of icecream inside once you've made your order. Very pricey for a small daifuku ice cream. It was almost $8 for one. The mochi was very good, soft and chewy. The ice cream was deep in chocolate flavour. It was yummy, but I can't justify going back for that price and size.

Xuan Bakery has been on my list since they've opened and I finally had the chance to take a peek inside! It's your classic Chinese bakery, so nothing special there - you just take the tray and tongs at the far end and make your way to the register. The spacing can be done a little better - you can't really have more than 2-3 people looking and getting buns at the same time. SELECTION: There wasn't a lot of variety, but with the selection they do have, it was pretty unique. They have two different types of Pineapple Buns (bo lo bao): the classic and a Taiwanese version (which looks like Japanese melon buns). They also have several different sausage buns, including one with cheese and another with pork floss. These also look a bit different, it's not encased in the bun, but it's more of a hotdog kind of look. They also offer cakes and free samples of their cakes, which look and taste like your typical Chinese bakery cakes (not my preferred taste). They seem to really want to upsell their cakes (the lady kinda tried pressuring me to try and buy). PRICE: The prices were on the higher end. You're looking at about $4-6 per bun. They also have a 'lucky draw' going on right now if your subtotal is more than $25, but my draw required a minimum purchase of $35 lol (for a free slice of cake). FAV: The classic pineapple bun. The top was SO crispy yet the bottom was SO soft. I would go back just for this by itself. There was a lady ahead of me who ONLY bought the pineapple buns. She knows what's up.
