WOW these cakes are AMAZING!!!!!! I got the jasmine longan and the jasmine tea flavour was super strong and it was so light and I absolutely love this one. It was also so cute and they put a little bit of glitter on top of the fruit. The flowers are bitter, of course, and I thought it was well balanced as for the coconut sticky rice cake that was so delicious as well. Make sure you keep them cold because the cream sort of melts at room temperature but it was absolutely delicious. Would come again and buy it in a large cake size. I love how they do these little cake, mini cake cups because you get to try all their amazing flavours without having to commit to a big one.

    80% ice

I'm very disappointed because the salted cream iced coffee was delicious but I only got 5 sips out of it, cause the cup is very small and it's 80% ice ! And costs $6 plus for ice. Maybe use a bigger cup or use less ice. The banh mi I could not finish cause the taste was bad, or maybe too much hoisin sauce, it was messy and just wasn't good.

Have been wanting to try this bakery for a long time and finally went for the first time last week and now I want to return everyday. All of their pastries are super tempting but their croissants are especially intriguing. Very special flavours and incredibly balanced and well done. Tried the salted egg yolk and coconut croissants which were both extremely delicious, topped with a unique crust, flaky at room temp and filled with cream. Definitely my favourite croissant of Toronto. Highly recommend this bakery and will definitely be back to try their other desserts.

Such good customer service and friendly staff!! After trying a few of their cake boxes, cakes and other items, my favourite is definitely their coconut sticky rice cake box!! There are many textures and layers and each bite tastes amazing. The green tea tiramisu was not bad either but not as many textures as the coconut one. However I am definitely biased towards chewy things like tapioca and sticky rice.

    Mini taro ube cake

Tried their taro ube mini cake and i love it! The taro ube flavour is so strong in the best way. The bottom is a layer of taro sticky rice (kind of like mochi texture, with a thin layer of cake on top, and topped with taro cream. Even though it is a mini cake, it is a decent size and i think it can be shared between 2 people. I also tried their salted egg roll cake slice which i didnt have any expectations for so i was pleasantly surprised. I am a fan of salted egg so i was intrigued and it is more of a savoury cake. The price is considered on the high end but comparable to other boutique cake shops.

Must be a new bakery in Scarborough in the midland plaza with the bbt shops. It's all the way in the end of the plaza across the pho restaurant. The staff working there was very nice and the store was bright and well lit. It gives off a very welcoming vibe. I highly recommend the coconut croissant. It was delicious. They also carry drinks and mini cakes as well as full-size cakes on their menu but I was just really curious to try it out since I was roaming the plaza. Definitely not a sit down place but really nice to grab some goodies to go.

La La Bakeshop is such an amazing bakery. I love how fresh all their baked items are and I think they have the best drinks in the Finch/Midland area! They offer a variety of Asian-inspired mini cakes and my favourite is their Coconut Sticky Rice Mini Cake. The taste reminded me of traditional Malaysian desserts. Their Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Jasmine Milk Tea are perfect refreshers for the hot summer! I loved how rich and creamy the coffee was and the jasmine tea had a floral fragrant taste! Service is always great and the store may be small, but it is super cute inside!

Durian croissant (amazing!) And almond chocolate croissant
    Michelle K.

I absolutely love la la bakeshop! I love all of their flavours, and being part Viet, I love that I can taste a piece of home in their amazing desserts. They recently added durian croissants to their menu and I knew I had to try it. I also grabbed the chocolate almond croissant as well. The durian croissant is so good! There's even a whole durian piece on top. I had one warmed up and one cold from the fridge and they were both equally as good. The durian flavour is definitely there but not too overwhelming where you can't decipher that it's a croissant. The chocolate almond one was good as well, just a tad bit bitter for my taste compared to other chocolate croissants I've had. The price is a bit hefty, especially for an almost 9 dollar durian croissant. But durian in general is very very expensive in supermarkets and I think that if you're a durian lover, you definitely need to try it.

I ordered a durian cake from their downtown location before, so it was really exciting to see that they've opened a location closer to home. The bakery is super cute but doesn't have any seating. They have so many tempting items to pick from. The staff was also really friendly and flexible with boxing the buns. She also suggested I purchase 6 for tax free. I tried their salted egg yolk bun which was so unique bitting into. The bun is filled with a salted egg yolk custard. The two croissants were really good. The garlic cream cheese bun was also super flavourful and delicious. It's a bit on the pricey end, with each bun averaging around $5-6 each. I bought 6 buns and my total came to $32.

LÀ LÁ Bakeshop is a modern Vietnamese bakery that first opened in downtown Toronto in Summer 2021. Now this is the second location in the city located at the Sky City Shopping Centre in Scarborough. A vast array of taste flavours inspired by the baker's memories of Southeast Asia. Grand opening day was today and the Sky City Shopping centre is definitely turning into a foodie heaven. Omg the iced Vietnamese coffee was phenomenal. One of the best that I've had in the city. The lychee jasmine tea was so refreshing and you can tell it's a brewed tea and not artificial, not too sweet, just right. Both drinks were excellent! I just ate the Huế Sausage Bun with Shallots banh mi cha Hue. I really enjoyed the sausage, it was different and dense and not too salty. The Lava Salted Egg Bun was absolutely delicious. You can see how much filing they put in this bun!! It's all over my mouth now. The pork floss and the salted egg had such a good balance and the lava salted egg was pouring out in the paper bag as I bite into it. So delicious! So glad they opened this location. Such unique variety and a different flavour of bakery altogether!

Finally a LA LA bake shop (@lalabakeshop.ca) is now soft opened with a uptown location. I attempted to buy something from their DT location previously & most stuff were sold out!! Went during soft opening over a week ago (grand opening just happened last weekend) & found there was no lineup & most stuff I wanted to try were still available!! We have tried: Durian mini cake ($15.5): My all time favorite! So creamy, soft, some durian fruit pieces & strong durian flavor!! It was so bomb , durian lovers must try! Lava salted egg bun ($5.8): Pork floss outside. When warmed up in oven, the salted egg yolk in the middle was melted & oozing out! Super satisfying!! We savored every bite. Salted Egg croissant ($5.8): most enjoyable when crunch up the croissant in oven before enjoying it with melted egg yolk in the middle! Nom nom! Scallion and cured sausage bun ($3.8): Pork floss outside. Good size, best to share so you can enjoy other yummy buns too! Banh Mi croissant ($6.8) : Uniquely reminded me of the regular Banh Mi and with a yummy croissant twist. When buy 6 or more items, tax is included. 3272 Midland Ave., Unit B127, Scarborough, Ontario Follow @eatntravelrepeat for more food adventures!!

Lychee jasmine iced tea and coconut sticky rice mini cake
    Mei Lan M.

A friend of mine had recommended this place and I also read many positive reviews so I definitely wanted to check this place out. First of all, customer service is great - very accommodating and all questions are answered patiently. I ordered the lychee jasmine iced tea - and it was very light and refreshing. It was perfect on a nice day like today. Like the other reviews said, less ice and smaller lychee pieces would have been helpful. I also ordered the coconut sticky rice mini cake and it didn't disappoint! All of the flavours and textures went well together and it wasn't overly sweet. I really enjoyed this. I wish the mini cake had been a little bigger though - you can really only share it with one person. I look forward to returning and trying some of their other items.

    Abigail G.

I tried their new milk buns in chocolate, matcha and crème brûlée since they were having a 50% deal. They all were really good - the buns were sweet and so soft and they had so much filling. The only thing I'd say is that it's best to eat it within a day otherwise they aren't as good.

Got the Matcha Pandan Tiramisu. It was good: creamy with a good mix of flavours. It seems a bit pricey but it's bigger than normal tiramisu.

We were there on Boxing Day at about 10:15am. There was a limited selection of savoury and meat filled Chinese buns at that hour. Baked Char Sui bao, Cheese, Ham, Sausage buns. The fresh cream bun was added at this time. If you wanted Taro or Custard filled buns or Egg Tarts, there were none on the shelves. There was a posted board outside the bakery offering "buy 6, no tax and receive one egg tart". I bought six buns and received a small HK milk tea, which was fine instead of an egg tart. The buns filling and dough texture was so-so imo, when I compare it to buns available at Markham Chinese bakeries. However, it filled our need while we lined up at another store on the day.

I was there overhearing that they will be having their grand opening soon. You can find your classic buns here like sausage bun, pineapple bun and char siu bun. But they also have specialty buns like fried chicken sandwiches, garlic cheese sausage buns and more. Buns are fairly priced here as well in my opinion with fried chicken sandwiches being less than $4. They also sell whole cakes and slices of cakes which looks really good. Interior of the bakery is beautiful and newly renovated. It's brightly lit and super clean inside. The one cashier cashing me out was friendly and chatty which I enjoyed. Telling me that VIP cards will be available once grand opening happens, but didn't know the exact date of their grand opening yet. Make sure to check out these affordable and tasty buns!

Xuan Bakery has been on my list since they've opened and I finally had the chance to take a peek inside! It's your classic Chinese bakery, so nothing special there - you just take the tray and tongs at the far end and make your way to the register. The spacing can be done a little better - you can't really have more than 2-3 people looking and getting buns at the same time. SELECTION: There wasn't a lot of variety, but with the selection they do have, it was pretty unique. They have two different types of Pineapple Buns (bo lo bao): the classic and a Taiwanese version (which looks like Japanese melon buns). They also have several different sausage buns, including one with cheese and another with pork floss. These also look a bit different, it's not encased in the bun, but it's more of a hotdog kind of look. They also offer cakes and free samples of their cakes, which look and taste like your typical Chinese bakery cakes (not my preferred taste). They seem to really want to upsell their cakes (the lady kinda tried pressuring me to try and buy). PRICE: The prices were on the higher end. You're looking at about $4-6 per bun. They also have a 'lucky draw' going on right now if your subtotal is more than $25, but my draw required a minimum purchase of $35 lol (for a free slice of cake). FAV: The classic pineapple bun. The top was SO crispy yet the bottom was SO soft. I would go back just for this by itself. There was a lady ahead of me who ONLY bought the pineapple buns. She knows what's up.

I've been to this Saint Germain Bakery twice. My first visit was in December. I wanted to get macarons for my friend and colleague. I also got a six-pack of molten cheese tarts. I recently returned after my dental appointment. I was craving a croissant. This place uses a ton of butter, to the point where you can smell the butter as you are approaching the store. It's that level of buttery happiness that I wanted. Little did I know after uploading my whack-load of photos that I never reviewed this place. Oops! My guess is that I came here during my last week in the office and then I went on vacation, which seemed to include not writing a review. Well, here goes! This bakery is on the northwest corner of Pharmacy and McNicoll in Scarborough. There is parking at the back of the store. It's weird that the main entrance faces McNicoll. The businesses next to it have entrances that face Pharmacy. It's heavenly walking into this bakery. It specializes in Cantonese baked goods, such as beef curry buns, BBQ turnovers, and more. It does put a spin on non-traditional Chinese goods that use a lot of butter. The croissants and pain au chocolat are excellent. They are flaky, buttery, and delicious. I need to get macarons. I've gifted a six-pack, but have never consumed any. The molten cheese tarts are to-die-for good. I brought six of them into work last December and were a hit with my colleagues. They were rich in cheese flavour, each bite melted in my mouth, and they had the best buttery crust holding everything together. I recently indulged in a bunch of buns and flaky pastries, from a curry beef roll, to a BBQ pork bun. There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Everything was fresh and flavourful. This place didn't skimp on filling. I learned that you can get a VIP card that gets you 10% your purchase. This card is $10 on its own. You can get it for free when you buy at least $30 worth of goods. I managed to hit the latter by getting a container for pecan shortbread that was divine. These round shortbread were also a hit at work. Staff here are always helpful. I may need to order a cake from this place. They looked so good, especially the ones with fruit on top. This place also sells Hong Kong-style tea and lobster rolls. The latter was sold out when I was here on Tuesday. I'll need to get the former next time. If you are a bakery fan, come here. It's excellent! (199)
