The store is located in a really nice area with other nearby shopping and conveniently located. When I entered the store I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well organized the place is. Product are mealy and clearly labeled. The staff are extremely helpful and go way above and beyond to help which is a great thing. The prices here are also phenomenal! The checkout lanes and self checkout were not crazy at all either. I will definitely shop here again with I am here the area.

I am very grateful for this help and when checking out at this store, I was having difficulty using what was on my EBT card and then paying cash for the balance. I noticed an employee standing nearby and asked for assistance and after explaining what I was trying to do, specifically asking, "Am I able to use the balance on my EBT card first," she just frowned at me and shook her head no. No further assistance was offered. I will not be going back to Publix. Customer assistance was very poor!

Some of the reasons I like Food Lion in general include: -easy to use app -sales are clearly marked -stores are just the right size (not too big or small) And some of the reasons I like this location in particular include: -produce tends to be fresh -some of their cashiers are really friendly -they've been nice to me when I've shopped in full gremlin mode at weird hours Some of my proudest moments in this store include: 1- the time I forgot my phone and needed to use theirs (they let me), 2- the time I negotiated a $10 discount on some freezer burned crab legs, and 3- the time I got a rain check coupon for a product that I had a freebee coupon for. The main reasons my rating isn't perfect include: 1- in the evenings, they often force you to do self checkout, and 2- cashier quality can be inconsistent. Overall, this is a perfectly good place to shop. Just make sure you download the app and leverage their deals if you choose to go!

Within a…read more5-10 minute ride you can have access to any store you want, but walking distance options are pretty limited to the Bessemer Avenue shopping center and a strip center across the street. Because of that, I have visited Compare Foods over the years which is located in the Bessemer Shopping Center. Compare used to be called something else but I can't remember the name anymore. It's a good option if I don't have a car or if I need one or two items, but I was never able to warm up to this store, and here's why. Everything is so freaking expensive!!!!!!!!! I don't get it. The store is mostly frequented by local people who for the most part are hard-working blue collar workers and their families and many of them immigrants from Latin America, Asian countries and Africa. These families do not have money to squander and so I don't know why the store has to charge so much for everything and how these families agree to pay these high prices? I think one of the reasons is because the store does carry a wonderful selection of ethnic foods. I saw many many offerings that I never see in any other store. As a matter of fact, when I was in there today I bought a Ghana sweet potato. Mind you it was over $2 for one potato but at least I got something a bit exotic and different. Regular potatoes were way overpriced and I refused to buy them. I walked around the store a bit to look at all of the interesting items, and again, if you are from a foreign country looking for comfort food or spices that you are used to having back home, this place is a great resource. It has definitely been cleaned up since the last time I was here pre-covid. Everything was neat and clean and organized but so expensive! I can get a avocado or a mango for half the price at even Harris Teeter and Diet Coke was almost double for what I pay at Food Lion when I get a sale. I was going to pick up a few items but I could only bring myself to to buy the Diet Coke and the Ghana potato. Everything else was way too overpriced for me! I truly do understand why the foreign items may be pricey, but not when it spills over into coffee creamer and eggplant! I was going to give this store a 3 but in that they have spruced it up a bit and are providing ethnic food for their local community. I'm going to give them a four. If they could just find a way to deliver the everyday items at a normal price, I would be a regular customer, but for now unless I am in dire need, I'm going to spend the extra 5 minutes and head up Church Street to the Food Lion at Cornwallis shopping center where my dollar will go much further. But if you are living in Greensboro and aching for some comfort food from home in a foreign country, this may just be the place for you!

They have more product and fresh produce now! Meat section is nice, prepackaged pan dulce readily available and more! There is no issue finding ingredients for the Latino-inspired cuisine. Good service. I'll be sure to support this establishment a lot more as it's very much needed in this part of town.

Like the everything sourdough I bought - which was delish! I've tried frozen pizza, frozen veggies, meats, cheeses, dips, crackers, etc. it's all delish! This time I did a pick up order and it was perfect. My shopper was able to get everything I'd ordered, no need for substitutions. The employee that brought my order out to me was kind and very welcoming. The only extra cost was the paper bags they used but that's a $1 well spent for groceries delivered to my car.
