Savoy Café is located in the Savoy Hotel, Manila. When I booked my room, breakfast was included for an additional $4, which is 234php - a great deal! The breakfast buffet offered typical American fare with some Filipino dishes, but nothing particularly outstanding. The only thing I kept going back for was the Tahô - a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft/silken tofu, served with sago pearl and caramelized sugar, which brings back memories, it was delicious!
The service was subpar - none of the servers greeted me or explained anything. I had to get my food and serve myself, well yes, it's a buffet but not even a greeting was a bit rude. As a result, I didn't leave a tip because I didn't receive any service.
There was also a discrepancy in the pricing. I was told that the buffet was 390php per person, but when I paid for my three cousins, the total came to 3900php, which is $66 - that's $20 per person, quite steep in my opinion. If I had known the actual price, I would have chosen a different option. The high prices and mediocre food make me not want to return. read more
