Just had the most perfect lazy morning breakfast at George and Onnie's (or Little Flour, whatever…read morethey're calling it now) and I'm still thinking about it hours later. Walked in around 7:30 before the mall got crazy, and the place was chill with that cozy café smell hitting you right away--fresh coffee and baked goods. Ordered the longsilog and wow, the longganisa patty was juicy and garlicky without being too greasy, paired with perfectly sunny-side-up eggs and garlic rice that was spot-on crispy. The atchara on the side cut through everything so nicely. Grabbed their signature ube pandesal French toast on the side because why not, and it was ridiculous--soft, custardy inside with that sweet ube glaze that wasn't overpowering. Coffee was strong and hot, just how I like it. Server was super attentive without hovering, refilled my water before I even asked. For the price, it felt like a steal compared to other spots in the area. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. 100% coming back tomorrow before my flight. If you're anywhere near Newport, don't sleep on this place.

After a…read morelittle online sleuthing (a.k.a. me scrolling through Google Maps like it's Tinder), I decided to check out Pancake House -- conveniently a short walk from where I was staying. Like most sit-down spots in BGC, the service was lovely -- smiles all around, not a single complaint. But let me drop a PSA for any future diners: these folks have Olympic-level upselling skills. You think you're just getting a drink? Boom -- now it's a refillable iced tea. You order a meal? Suddenly, it comes with a "highly recommended" upgrade. They could probably convince you to add an appetizer to your water. Anyway, I went with the pork tocino breakfast (because I'm not about to skip protein) and added caramel walnut banana pancakes -- because self-care. The tocino and garlic fried rice were so good I had to tap out before even touching the pancakes, so I boxed them to go. Fast-forward a few hours: I'm ready for my pancake moment. I butter them up, drizzle that caramel sauce, take a bite -- and immediately go, "Wait... why does this taste... meaty?" After a few detective bites, I realized there was definitely some kind of cross-contact situation happening. Somewhere, a rogue spatula betrayed me. I sadly retired the pancakes to the trash. Honestly, aside from the unexpected meat-flavored dessert, it was still a decent experience and a solid kickoff to my BGC trip. Lesson learned though: in Manila, even your pancakes might come with a little extra protein. Overall, I'm giving the tocino breakfast a 4.5, the banana pancakes a 2 (1 for looks and the other 2 for effort), service a 4 so I feel a solid 3.5. Worth a visit and the Mind Museum is a short walk away too!!

We were walking around we couldn't make a decision on where to eat despite massive choices in restaurants. I ordered 2 taco, that says"best intown" but it's not the best. Taco bell is better, and I'm not a taco person. My husband ordered the chicken burger, he didn't eat it at all because of the pure grease on the deep deep fridge chicken meat upon biting. The bread they used for a burger tasted weird. The kids ordered pancake for supper , pancake is always a safe choice. So one star only. I was warned.

My heart wanted to go with the ube pancakes, but my mind ordered the lox and rosti. The portion size was decent! It reminded me of the portion sizes in the United States. It was quite filling! It was delicious. It came with 4 pieces of lox, a pan fried potato cake, salad greens, pickles, pickled onions, and a poached egg. I also ordered the matcha Freddo, which was a coffee with matcha on top. It was interesting! I haven't had anything like that before. Most other places it tasted more like a matcha latte, but this one you could taste the distinct coffee and matcha flavors. It's iced so it's perfect for the heat! They are in their soft opening phase. The service was really attentive (then again most places here in the Philippines have good customer service). The ambiance is clean and modern. It's a nice space to come dine or have coffee. They have a pastry case when you walk in! Some may assume that they only do coffee and pastries. Though, they have a full on menu! It's more than what appears to the eye. They also have 2 hours of free WiFi which can be accessed via a voucher. They also have AC! Overall, I had a great experience here. I would come back and try some other things on the menu. I do wish they had more healthier options, but I know not everyone has the same taste as me. For my meal, coffee and mineral water I think I spent around $12 USD.

Recovery Food at the stopover pavillion is more of your anti-hang over cure. The food is recovering, not for your body really, but more for your mind. The menu is limited to FIlipino comfort foods with meats, rice and eggs. Not that is not where you should make your choice. The choice should be if you go for normal.. or full recovery. I always go for full SST recovery with brown rice or talangka rice. The food quality is always consistent. What I appreciate is that they also serve a wine bottle full of fresh calamansi or dalandan juice for only 100 php. The ice tea is from powder so I wouldn't recommend that. Don't show up here during lunch hour btw, there is a wait and the place gets so crowded you can't hear yourself talk anymore.

So you can expect that with the loads of call centres around the fort, this place is forever packed. Something which can be a bad thing because the acoustics in this outlet aren't good. So it can get VERY loud and VERY busy. The service here is pretty fast too, which is a plus. The portions of food and drink are very generous (juices are served in a carafe not in a glass for only 99 bucks!). There aren't that many veggie options and I wish they offered something for vegetarians. But the best dishes here are the rice bowls. The SST (sweet spicy tuyo) is always great. Plus they offer the option of organic brown rice which is awesome!

Honestly, I had no idea this place existed, but luckily was paying attention when our driver drove past and I saw a massive line out the door at 1am. Luck would have it our hotel was just around the corner. We walked by one evening and decided it was way to crowded. With over an hour wait and every table filled we also knew pictures inside would be nearly impossible. With a couple hours to spare the morning we were leaving, we walked over after breakfast to check it out and maybe order something small to share. Of course, the desserts caught our eye and the rest was history. 1 massive dessert later, 2 of us could not finish, but throughly enjoyed every bite we ate. A daytime visit was the best choice. We pretty much had the downstairs to ourselves for pictures and several 2nd floor areas were purposely non-seating areas so patrons could take pictures. I could have spent hours here and would definitely return. The collection is unreal. The 50's vibe/atmosphere was on point, and the dessert (the only food I can judge) was delicious. If we had a place like this in Los Angeles, it would be a total hit.

It has a unique gas station theme, with classic cars, memorabilia, and a vintage vibe. They offer American comfort food like burgers, pizza, pasta, and hearty breakfast plates but surprisingly their Filipino favorite dishes are so good. Ordered the hipon (shrimp) sinigang & the sizzling squid. Both were so good. Loved the sauce on the squid. Loved all the veggies in the sinigang especially the okra & kangkong (watercress/morning glory). This place is great for casual dining and late-night cravings. They have a bar for those who want to enjoy a drink while soaking in the retro aesthetic. I stopped in here twice during my stay in the area. I also tried their chicken & waffle. It was really good too. I wish I tried their desserts but I was too full both times. They have merchandise to purchase as well if you need souvenirs. Staff were friendly.
