Yelp friend recommended this local sports grill. Went in last night for dinner. Place was hopping and bar was filled for Monday night football. Kinda rowdy, so if you are taking your family in be ready for the noise, or to be ready to join in the fun. Good bar menu with a few more sophisticated entree's including the grilled salmon with mixed veggies I tried. The three of us split a dynamite shrimp appy (quite good) and our table also got a couple penne pasta dishes. Good, solid food. With generous tip for the great service, we got out of there for $90. Found this place on Yelp while we were in San Tan to pick up a marketplace find. Was looking for a place to eat before heading back to Tucson. Looked small from outside and was pleasantly impressed. Sat at a high top. Drinks ordered& food in. Ordered burgers which were great. I just drank a soda water with lemon and hubs had a Modelo. One of our favorite spots since moving here a few months ago.... If Ella is working. Her service is on point she remembers her customers and is on point. We aren't stuck waiting for what feels like forever for things we order from the bar or food. Vs some other waiters we ask 3+ times for something and still feel forgotten or an inconvenience. We need more people like Ella around especially since the bar options in the area are slim to none. Truly the best & why we come back time and time again. read more

I'm so irritated with Mindy !! I normally get Amber she treats me nice . I'm a regular. I came on a Friday which they sell coconut shrimp. Mindy explained to me after my order was burnt that they don't have any coconut shrimp. Andre the cook , came out and said yes we do. So he gave me coconut, shrimp, and fries.. so what did I do . I gave my tip to Andre . He should be running in the front, but I said they had an incompetent person running in the front. I've been coming here for a long time and I know her from native New Yorker and now she's there as savvy messing up . everything. I'm so mad . I'm a regular . I never have problems . And then Mindy tells me oh I didn't know we had coconut shrimp. They taste so good so you took my coconut shrimp that was burnt to eat them because I was told that they didn't have any more coconut shrimp for Friday shrimp day. Something is wrong with this establishment or maybe they need to find better help but I'm not gonna blame it on Andre and I'm not gonna blame it on Amber because they're phenomenal today. First time here and enjoyed it. Decor nothing special, just basic small neighborhood sports bar but food was good. Cobb salad was big and a large amount of chicken. We have lived in San Tan for quite some time and we were looking for something new. We came across this place on maps and decided to give it a shot. The food was crazy good. The San Tan Burger was big with great flavor. No condiments needed. The Chicken Avocado Wrap and onion rings were great. Perfectly made. Bartender makes a bomb Michelada. Seriously one of the best I've had. It wasn't like he just added premix and beer. There were spices, olives, lemon, lime. Great dinner. We will be back. read more

Moving from chandler i was bummed that there was no bars in area. Then i stumbled upon Savvys! Fantastic crew! And very welcoming! This place has become my favorite place to enjoy free time and meet new people! If you are looking for a place to be greeted with a smile and great service this is the place for you! This is a small little bar and grill tucked away in a strip mall in San Tan Valley. Let me tell you how impressed I was with their burgers! They were perfectly cooked and juicy, we even went wild and got peanut butter and jelly burger, which was pretty great. Their loaded nachos were great appetizer and the dessert cookie, which is like a pizza cookie with ice cream is just magical. Our server was amazing and made us feel so welcomed. They have a lot of TVs, so all of the college football games were going on today. read more

Went and tried Savvy's since they've moved in. Probably should just be a bar and focus on alcohol. It was early Friday night and they were out of fries, onion rings, cheese curds, etc. The servers seemed annoyed with food orders. Will try again, but expectations should be set for a dive bar and drinking only. read more

Food wasn't bad, just overpriced basic bar food. But it will get the job done. Service, however, was terrible. The type of service where they seem to have contempt for you just for being there. The place wasn't particularly busy, and they certainly weren't short-staffed considering multiple servers had time to chat at the bar. Asked for another drink that never came and my server disappeared. Finally another server walked by and asked if I needed anything, so I got the check. Again, nobody ever came to take my card for about 10 minutes. Finally, my original server who had disappeared walked by, didn't say a word, but snatched my card from the table. Returned it a few minutes later and muttered "have a nice day." Quite pathetic and I will not return. read more

New name thought it might have changed. No it didn't! Service was not good but the food was horrible. Bacon was super burnt on appetizer, sent it back and it came with our food. Ordered chicken strips for our grand daughter and they were black as hell! Sent them back and got a cheese quesadilla right before we left. Not thrilled with any of it. Will not return. read more

I had the best experience ever. I showed up early in the morning and a really sweet, super nice bartender named Amy made me a world class michelada. I bet it had 20 ingredients. It's clearly the specialty. Then I watched her made a guy a Bloody Mary that looked like it was from a craft cocktail contest. Go see her, she is so fun, great smile. Excellent experience. read more

Quality dive bar vibes. The menu has a good selection of diverse items with some interesting change ups on standard food you'd generally see at other bars. The green chili-bacon burger (The San Tan Burger) was very good quality. The Mac and cheese tastes a little like Kraft (who doesn't like Kraft though) and the onion rings were fantastic. We also got the Bavarian pretzels with the Queso and they were delish. They have several events going on during the week which seem like a lot of fun. I think we will try out a Friday/Saturday night to see how it is when it's lively. Service was timely. read more

Food was good but service was not great. Family did not feel welcomed from the waitress. Didn't get acknowledged after we ordered water, just put it in and walked away. When we asked for our food to go she brought the food and bags and waved it around waiting for someone to grab it before we could grab it ourselves. Only improved her mood after my brother tipped. The food was great, service was nice, but I cannot rate higher due to this concern: they need to get a better water filtration system. Their water had a serious aftertaste, as if it was straight tap water. The tap water in STV is simply not suitable. The staff was very welcoming and I will definitely be back, but I will be avoiding the water here for sure. read more

Great service, fresh food, good drinks. The many TVs and ample seating make it an ideal spot for watching games. I just moved to San Tan from LA and I can easily admit I'm quite the critic of the bars/eateries here in AZ, but I will definitely be returning to Savvy's. Decided to check out Savvy's this past Thursday for a late lunch (around 2pm). The bar was mostly full but all the comfy booth seating was open. Sat down & enjoyed the nachos appetizer and then the chicken tacos. Wasn't sure how fresh the food would be but man it was GREAT. I could tell the nachos and sauces were made fresh, and the pico de gallo has a ton of flavor. Menu has tons of other salad, burger, and taco/quesadilla options that sounded great as well. The bartender single-handedly took care of everyone at the bar as well as serving my table, which as a past server myself I really admire. Hope Savvy's continues to be great as it's one of the few spots I'd recommend in San Tan! read more

We have been to Savvy's many times and the food is always good. The service has not always been at the same level. We usually come in on Wednesday for trivia and have had to wait to get served and longer than expected for our food to arrive. Tonight, Tuesday, was amazingly different. This was when we got the pleasure of having Jersey as our server. She was AWESOME! She was engaging and conversational but kept an eye on the restaurant to make sure no one was waiting on anything. Mind you the meal I order and returned was $14/$15 and my drink was $6/$7... Anyway I ended up asking for the check and was upset right away because I pretty much had to pay for both of the meals and it already had a $10.99 gratuity tip on it.... How is this okay? The server dropped off the check and didn't say ONE word ( LIKE, thank you, or I'm sorry for what happened) and walked away so quick, probably because she knew she already had her tip and didn't need to do much more like a bad and unprofessional server would do... They couldn't even remake my meal I returned since I pretty much was still gonna get charged for it so I can take it home or offer something else to take... Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end. If you're coming for the food or the service, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. We came in as a party of five a little after 9:00 PM and were told the kitchen closed at 10:00 PM. No problemo, we were ready to order right away. Instead, our server didn't return to take our order until around 9:20PM, despite nearby tables continuing to receive service. That was the first sign things weren't going well. I ordered the carne asada nachos specifically because the menu advertised them with queso instead of shredded cheese. I even mentioned to my group that was the reason I was ordering them. I also added a side of sweet potato waffle fries. About 25 minutes after we had already placed our order, the server came back and asked if I'd like a different meat. Like of course I don't want a different meat that's why I ordered carne asada. The server didn't say that they were out of carne asada, but I read between the lines and opted for ground beef cause really the queso is what makes the nachos. Also, I couldn't help wondering why it took 25 minutes to find that out. Then the food arrived. My nachos immediately looked different than expected. Instead of queso, they were covered with shredded cheese. Nothing was mentioned about being out of queso. I notice there was none. When I asked about it, the server casually said, "Oh yeah, we're out of queso too." Wait...what? So the restaurant was out of both the carne asada and the queso. The two main ingredients that made me order the dish in the first place. No one cared to mentioned either of those things when taking my order OR when coming back and asking if I wanted a different meat didn't also mention they were out of queso. Had I known, I would have ordered something completely different from the start. To the server's credit, she did let me order something else. Sucks for the kitchen because they were already closed. I ended up getting the sliders, but they were just as underwhelming as everything else. The food overall tasted like frozen products that had simply been reheated. Nothing tasted fresh, especially considering the prices. The biggest issue wasn't just the mediocre food, it was the lack of communication and straight lie when placing my food in front of me. If items are unavailable, tell customers before they order or at least when placing their food down, not after they've waited half an hour and not saying anything at all. Between the disappointing service, poor communication, and unforgettable food for all the wrong reasons, this place completely lost my trust. I'd honestly rather spend half the money at IHOP, where the food is more consistent and I'd know what to expect.

I don't like the taste of jalapeño & I don't like spice. I ordered mine with Mayo & pickles. Hubby liked his wings. I took one bite & spit it out because the fat wasn't rendered. The blue cheese dressing was good & had crumbled blue cheese on top. My fish sandwich was okay. It was a bit over cooked & greasy. The onion rings were okay. Service was super slow as we waited awhile for to go boxes & then again for the check. We will take a break from here for a little while. That's my biggest problem with restaurants; no consistency!

I visited Savvy's Bar & Grill recently, and it was a mixed experience overall--hence the three stars. When I walked in, the place wasn't too inviting; it felt a bit generic for a sports bar, lacking that extra warmth or vibe to draw you in right away. However, the service was absolutely amazing--the staff was friendly, attentive, and made up for a lot with their energy and helpfulness. The food, unfortunately, came out cold, which was disappointing, but the flavors were okay and nothing to complain about too much. Wait times for the food were pretty slow, even though it wasn't super busy, so that dragged things down a bit. On the brighter side, the drinks were solid--well-made and reasonably priced, which helped salvage the evening. If you're in San Tan Valley and looking for a casual spot with great service, it's worth a try, but temper your expectations on the food side. read more
