Well, I had steak and eggs today. The steak was delicious. Didn't see it on the menu and I just said hey can I have some steak and eggs? my fault that I didn't look thorough enough but $38 for steak and eggs. It was good but it wasn't worth that much money. Stopped in on Sunday morning for breakfast. We hadn't been here before so don't have anything to compare it to from before. I had the California Eggs Benedict and it was delicious! I got the potato medley as my side and it was colored assorted potatoes. They were crunchy on outside and soft on inside. Not dried out like some places. They had a seasoning salt on outside which was good but just a bit too much for my personal taste. Server was very polite and quick to help us. Anyone familiar with Queen Creek knows this small town has transformed into a beautiful town outside of the craziness of Phoenix. What was the former Queen Creek Cafe is now Badlands Bar and Grill. With a wide variety of food options, the fish and chips to breakfast was delicious! We had family in from out of town and we had dinner on Friday night because it was close to home. Our family enjoyed it so much we made reservations for Sunday brunch for the whole family. It was an absolute delightful experience. Even Joe, the manager came by on our first night to introduce himself and make sure we were being well taken care of. Badlands is anything but BAD! Big and plump shrimp in the cocktail, The wedge was really nicely sized, and we shared it. Really enjoyed the ribs and walleye fish. The broccoli was really tasty; a nice light combo of butter, lemon and salt!!! Dessert of the brownie came out warm and kinda toasted. Wonderful bar pub, with a beautiful inside setting and a gorgeous bar. I really enjoyed the staff they were very friendly and attentive. My husband and I split the spartichoke dip which was a pleasant surprise. We both absolutely loved it and thought the crispy Brussel sprouts were a great addition. My husband had the wagyu burger for his entree and I had the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich for mine. Both really tasty, fries came with both and thought those were seasoned great and perfectly crisp. My husband and I keep talking about going back, it was a wonderful date night spot with really good food. Highly recommend! read more

They have a great menu here, and the food is off the chain good! The server was super friendly and spent time joking around with us as they weren't too busy. The inside has hard floors and they have lots of TV's here so I think when it's basketball or baseball season it might be kind of loud so I personally would probably do lunch before dinner here. read more

This is a nice local place with great service high-quality food and a wide variety on their menu. Other night we were very tired, but I wanted to go somewhere and grab something to eat, but not go far so we chose this destination because we had been wanting to stop by here anyway. The inside atmosphere was very vibrant. They were having a trivia night on one side so we sat on the dinner side. Our server Autumn was wonderful. She was very helpful and she was very attentive. There are a lot of things to choose from on the menu and this is a scratch kitchen, so everything is made to order which is always great to hearwe ordered quite a few different items. Everything was well prepared. Everything came out pretty fast. I would highly recommend you try to place for a great local place with great food and great service. Hands down the best and creamiest spinach artichoke dip I've had, and adding the roasted Brussels put it over the top. So much yum! I will be back for that. I was intrigued they had gyros, so I ordered the gyro pita. Delish tzatziki and a nice soft pita with nicely seasoned gyro meat. My hubby got the blackened chicken Alfredo that he enjoyed but mentioned it was more like a yummy Mac and cheesy. The service: took a minute to get seated, but once at our booth the waitress was friendly and attentive. Had several other staff members check in on us too. I just had the best lunch at Badlands. Had the hot honey chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and everything was cooked to perfection. We started with the cheese curds and they hit the spot with the Chipotle sauce. We opted to add a pretzel with cheese that ended up tasting like a bland loaf of bread and the waitress dumped the cheese sauce all over my son. My husband opted for the gyro that was slices as large as a steak and very dry. His fries were a slop mess of sauce, olives and where not editable. My chicken was dry and sides were tasteless. I honestly do not know exactly what to think of Badlands. I liked it but wanted to like it a lot more. The vibe in the resturant/bar is just odd to me. It was more like a cafe than a bar and grill to me. The biggest complaint I had was the acoustics in there are really bad. The main (center) dining room was full and it was LOUD! And I'm a guy who has to turn the volumn up on most things I listen to. I don't know why this is because I'm not a builder or a designer. We went for dinner on a recommendation for the Walleye and being from the midwest (not a snowbird) Walleye is a favorite and hard to find out here. My fiance and I both ordered the 'Mom's Fish & Chips' which was tempura fried Walleye strips and french fries with cole slaw. The fries were decent, not fresh cut but still crispy and not oily. The coleslaw I found plesant as it was not saturated with too much slaw sauce. The Walleye was just ok though. The strips were small and there were only 3 and a half of them with the half one tasting more like chicken than fish. The tempura still had a decent crust on them but overall they were just ok. I am guessing (just guessing here) that they took full fillet's and made them into two strips. I have personally made fried Walleye before and a full fillet is much bigger that what was served. I'm also not sure what the point of serving the fish on the bed of lettuce was. Maybe that's just how it's served where the owner is from? Over all I don't think the plate was worth $24 (menu online shows that it's $22) even though Walleye is not easy to find in this state and it's not an expensive fish back east. The positives that I took from the expierence was the service was very good and the place was also very clean. But hey, these are just my opinions and I encourage you all to try for yourselves. We waited for the new restaurant opening faise to end to try this establishment. Now Badlands have been opened for a little bit, and it's not as busy as it was when it first opened. I had the sweet and spicy chicken wrap. The sandwich option sounded amazing with a brioche bun. However since we shared a giant pretzel, I had the wrap instead My wife had the twisted burger, and a side of potato soup. My wrap was great! A nice sweet taste with a little kick. A good crunch with plenty of meat. The burger was also good,the bacon was amazing, burger had a good taste. The only issue My wife had, she though there were a little to much ketchup. However, she would order again but just had the ketchup herself. She also loved the soup Now our biggest mistake we did was ordering the giant pretzel, and then trying to eat our meal. This pretzel was on point plus the beer cheese was awesome. The pretzel had a nice char to it that added a nice taste. Over all, we had an wonderful experience.
