A tiny inside space with about 7 tables. Full around noon on Tuesday with a brisk takeaway happening. Extensive menu with some items only available after 3 pm. Uniquely flavored cup of soup and pitcher of ice water got things off to a fabulous lunch start. Thai tea comes with a paper straw: great for the plastics conscious: plus not sickeningly sweet like it can be. For main course you pick your protein (or veggies only) and pick your spice level. Found this family run restaurant about 2 weeks ago. Just ordered 5th carry out. Wife is Loving the fresh rolls. We get the Tom ka and Tom Yum soups. Both are delicious. I e had drunken noodles - pretty good and better the next day. So the chicken /potato curry was very tasty. Ok, the plus side to this place is their fried rice might be the best I've ever had. Fried rice is hard to screw up, but I've definitely had lots of mediocre fried rice. This is truly fantastic. Unfortunately, that's where the good food ends. I had the red curry noodles, and my boyfriend got some kind of shrimp in brown sauce. Both tasted like pretty much nothing. I'm guessing that I should have ordered them with more spice, but usually we both order things mild at Thai restaurants and they still have that slight kick! These had no kick, and no other flavors, either. I actually ended up only eating a couple bites of my noodles and then just filled up on the mountain of fried rice that constitutes a side. Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai for lunch. I asked if they had peanut sauce as on the menu it says that it was served in a "sweet and sour sauce." So upon placing my order I asked for a side of peanut sauce to add more flavor. Turns out: 1. I was given a batch of noodles with NO sauce (this is the blandest pad Thai Ever - and I hadn't even tasted it at that point - see photo) 2. There is hardly NO chicken in the pad Thai 3. Barely any sprouts, eggs, green onion, etc. SUPER disappointment. I tried to salvage it by adding my peanut sauce, but it was only enough to get a few bites in, had to toss the rest. My group of friends is OBSESSED with Sawasdee's peanut curry. No, really, they are obsessed. They plan weekend activities around it. If we order carry-out, they double their order to have leftovers for days. Yeah. While I'm not quite that into any of the menu offerings here, I do enjoy their pad thai. The noodles are nothing special, but the sauce is the perfect combination of sweet flavor, peanuts, and a hint of lime. The sprouts, egg and crushed peanuts also really add to the dish. It's not the best pad thai I've ever had, but certainly a tasty lunch or dinner (and if you order the dinner meal, prepare yourself for leftovers, holy portions!). Also, props for the cash discount: dinner patrons get 10% off the total bill if you don't pay by card. read more

Currently, they are take-out only. You can either call in or order there. Inside, there is tape on the floor to show 6 ft. distancing. There is also plexiglass between you and the cashier along with a giant bottle of hand sanitizer. Curbside is available and you have to pay when you call in your order. I normally order lunch take-out: Thai Fried Rice, Pad Ped, and Pad Thai. I always order it hot and it's just right. The portions are generous - all this food is enough for 4 servings. read more

I have the Chef special the had red curry & coconut Mille with mix of seafood. My only complaint was I had a lot of bamboo shoots & green & red peppers but not a lot of seafood. The taste was great but the minimal seafood was disappointing. My son had the fried rice with broccoli, peapods & chicken. He also had the Almond chicken with the gravy on the side. The gravy was the best almond chicken gravy I've ever had. Excellent. My husband had cellophane noodles in brown sauce with mixed veggies & chicken. We asked for medium, but it seemed spicier. It was still very, very good. Highly recommend this place. 3rd visit: not as great. Flavor is still good but portion sizes are small. Too much rice, not enough peanut curry, too much ground pork & not enough lettuce in the Larb. The pad Thai was kind of tasteless. Not enough spice or sweet, no ground peanuts, minimal green onion, no bean sprouts, just noodles. This visit was a Z Thursday night & the other 2 visits were on the weekend. Fantastic food comes out of this little place. Really good Thai food. My "hack" is to order vegetable curry but add chicken because this gives you a larger assortment of vegetables than if you just order chicken curry. Actually the waitress suggested this but I will still claim credit. Soups are good. Pad Thai good. The steak larb is really tasty. Service is friendly prices are very reasonable and portions are large. What more can you say. Five stars. read more

This is a really good spot for lunch! Came here with coworkers and we were immediately greeted, sat, and given water & menus. Good quality food, and price is very fair. Their lunch menu has a lot of options. Also, they give you complementary soup, and it's pretty good! I got noodles, and you could tell they were fresh and of good quality. I like the food here, the only complaint I would have is the level of spice varies from day to day, I always order medium spice sometimes it's perfect and other time it's not spicy at all. Other than that I've tried most of their apps and their Tom yum soup is delicious when it's spicy . I love spicy food so I drop in here whenever I can. After jumping through all their hoops including sending them proof of payment from my bank - they claim I lied and never received anything from them. Yeah, ok. Unfortunately, the dishes generally do not have enough protein chicken/shrimp/beef/pork. We have asked for extra protein and have still been disappointed. There is no zero or that would be my new rating. If you are stated to be open until 9:00 PM, not answering the phone at 8:15 for a carry out means you are not open until 9:00 PM. Not even opening the door at 8:30 PM Wednesday when you are "open" is not excusable. The food pretty much goes downhill after about 6:00 PM anyways as we all know. You run out of red, orange, yellow bell peppers and just dump in green. Eggplant runs out, and the food gets very different order to order. While the food quality is sometimes great, other times it is a chance it will be nasty. I am done with you. I will get my weekly Thai food fix from Brighton or Novi. The pad thai was edible but that's pretty much it. The meat was scarce, the sauce was non-existent, and there was nothing else in it except for a few pieces of egg...no bean sprouts or peanuts or taste. But that was the best part of the meal. The soup was the worst thing I've ever tried to eat. It looked like brown water with unripened tomatoes, whole mushrooms, and something leafy green. Will never go back. 2 thumbs down! read more

This is our second favorite Thai restaurant in our area. We come here once per month, sometimes only for the soup and the fresh rolls because the Tom Yum soup is the best in the area. If you order Pad Thai you should ask for extra sauce because sometimes it's light. But all the menu items are delicious including the Curries and Satays. Don't understand the good reviews here. I've ordered from here a handful of times. Either my order is wrong, or they just put whatever they want in whatever dish I order with no consistency. Everything is greasy, the rice tastes old and of dirty dish water, and the soups are worse. Dirty dish water. I wouldn't wanna walk back into the kitchen at this place. The sad part is, I really wanted to like this place because it's close by and there isn't much good food around here unless you go to Novi or Brighton. I gave it a shot a few times, but no more. Visited once for an early take out dinner and ordered my "barometer" meal, the pad Thai. I ordered shrimp with it. It came out a ghastly, unnatural yellow color. The taste was awful and unlike any good Thai food. The shrimp was over-cooked and instead of providing lime on the side (which is normal and traditional), I received lemon instead! Even a healthy dose of sriracha couldn't make the pad Thai more edible. It's truly unfortunate this place isn't more delicious. There is a dearth of independent, yummy restaurants in New Hudson.
