Great little find tasty beers and good food. I enjoyed the big tasting bar and room and they have lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. Lots of parking outside as well! Sawdust Brewery beers are amoung my favourites. I love the Lone Pine, as well as other selections I find in the LCBO. I've always wanted to go to the main brewery and I finally managed to go. I did not regret it. The setup for the place was nice. The staff was friendly, the food was good, the beer selection was tasty. I would probably take people back here and go back if up in Gravenhurst again. read more

My friends and I stopped here for some drinks on our way back from Muskoka. You can't miss it as there is a massive Muskoka chair out in front. Great place to climb up and take photos! There is a small shop in the front that sells some of the beer and other small items. Right behind that is the bar. It's pretty big and they have pretty unique beers (unfortunately the Cock Puncher was sold out..and yes that is a name of the beer). This is a great place to try something new and something local. The staff are really friendly and will help with suggestions. There is plenty of seating and they even have a few board games. I really wish this was closer to the city as this is a great spot to meet up with friends and just chill. read more

Stopped in for beer on my way to Bala. Easy to find since there's a giant yellow Muskoka chair in the parking lot. Nice big bottle shop with swag and a very organized beer fridge. They had plenty of each type of beer they brew. Behind the counter was a wall of awards they've won. Pretty impressive. Service was great. There was only one person working in the bottle shop when i was there and she kept the beer fridge full without customers waiting. I didn't get a change to hang out at the bar area, but it was busy, so it must be good! read more

You won't miss Sawdust City Brewery while driving along Muskoka Road, just look for the Mega sized muskoka chair! Friendly and causal vibe. Great place to enjoy a pint or a sampler with friends. Choice on taps are always changing. I like how you can do a your own choice flight of any 5 flight. A chance for me to try out some high ABV beers that I would not be ordering usually. There is no table service, so just order from the friendly bartender. After sampling some beers, one can also pick up bottles from the shop. Most of their logo related merchandise is reasonably priced. A must visit if you love beers and in the Muskoka area! read more

Came here as a pitstop when coming down from the cottage. Came with two pets, and went to several.ppaces that said they were "pet friendly" but turned out not too be We found this to be pet friendly! Good thing is attached to a Patio and had a food truck that served food. Food there was alright. Large portion and the burger was good. read more

One think about travel in Canada, you don't have to go far before you find another brewery. This one was fantastic! Sawdust City Brewery is a very cool place, great service from a busy bartender. On Wednesday night they even offer an interactive Bingo game! I was told they just started serving food, this was probably the only non-5-Star portion of the visit. Atmosphere, beer offering and service all top notch! The food will take some time. When I'm back in the area, I will be back! read more

BOTTOM LINE: One of my favourite craft breweries in this neck of the woods, with a great food truck to boot [Grillicious Gourmet]! Here's to hoping to can get a licensed patio soon! If you're ever up in Gravenhurst/Muskoka area, I cannot recommend it enough that you make a pit stop here. Open late 7 days per week, you'll never be left thirsty (or hungry!). The space itself is pretty bare bones but serviceable. Not having a patio is shame. There is plenty of space for various-sized groups, and on Saturday nights, there is typically live music playing. There appears to be about 12 taps on site, not including some guest taps and casks. While this review won't review the beers specifically, I can say that their selection is quite varied from lagers to IPAs to sours, and it's almost certain that you'll find something to your liking here. They serve tasting flights as well so that's always a good place to start. Finally, the one thing that makes Sawdust stand out is their food truck they have outside serving various yums that skews towards korean fusion goodness. Their fries are also to die for! The best thing is is that you can order from Grillicious and they'll bring it in for you (they don't have licensed patio). What more do you need?! read more

Great spot to try a few local brews and savour the selection. The sample flights are popular and a great way to find your favourite. I like the growlers and just have to remember to bring them with me to refill! Hungry? The food truck is awesome. Order, pay and they delivery to your bar stool inside. Both the pulled pork and Korean BBQ beef sandwiches are awesome. Once you have both it will be hard to decide what to have next. Check ahead of time to make sure on the food truck hours. Spectacular brewpub offering a bewildering variety of rotational beers and experimental brews. Excellent food truck out front specializing in Canadian-Korean fusion, complete with bulgogi or smoked trout poutine. We were fortunate enough to capitalize on some excellent seasonals including a collaboration special with a Bracebridge brewery, Little Norway pale ale dedicated to a World War allegiance, and a Berliner Weiss (a tough beer to find). Favourites include the Gateway Kolsch and Ol Woody Alt. For something interesting, try mixing their Skinny Dipping Stout with their cranberry barrel aged ale. read more

Great brewery with great beer! The bar itself is staffed with lovely people who are quick to offer assistance and make recommendations. You could try a flight of 4/5/12 beers so you can taste and judge for yourselves. Then if there are any favorites you can purchase them at the retail store up front. Our favorites were the mosaic (seasonal), golden beach (easy summer beer that was citrusy and light), and the chinook wet hop. read more

A variety of rotational beers, in fact we were there two days in a row and on the second day they had a new seasonal to try! A great space called the "Saloon" with their storefront as well in the old Home Hardware building. They had a delicious stout, kolsch, and some unique and creative seasonals. I tried them in a flight since I couldn't decide. If you want food you have to go outside to a food truck in the parking lot, but the lady will bring it inside for you when it is ready. She has some amazing food as well - smoked trout, bulgogi beef and unique poutines. If you are in the Muskoka area, this is a must-try stop! read more

Do not serve customers if you have capacity problems. A "small kitchen" is not an excuse to take 35 minutes to bring out a plate of hummus & veggies. No one wants to leave the lakes when in Muskoka, but when the weather refuses to cooperate with your desires and delivers cold rain, it sure is nice to have a rad place to go...and drink. Enter Sawdust City Brewery, Muskoka's newest craft brewery (opened at the beginning of August this season), conveniently located on the main drag in downtown Gravenhurst. The brewery, while still fairly small at this point, moved into the former Canadian Tire, a Goliath of a building providing plenty of space in which to expand. Having sampled SCB's flagship IPA, Lone Pine, at the Griffin Pub in Bracebridge a few days prior to our brewery visit, husband and I anticipated quite the treat. SCB delivered on all fronts: a big, beautiful tasting room with live entertainment on select days; eager and knowledgeable staff; and a fantastic array of beers on tap. In addition to their flagship line of Altbier, Kolsch, Pale Ale, IPA and Stout, you might find a Belgian IPA, Tropical Kolsch, Spicy Stout, or one of SCB's delightful collaborations with some of Ontario's other craft breweries. Seven dollars gets you four two-ounce samples; six buys you any pint. Capping off the experience is the food "truck" permanently located in the parking lot, serving up truly delicious, borderline-gourmet drinking fare such as local elk sausage with cranberry compote, bison burgers, tofu bulgogi, and design-your-own poutine. If you're going to be forced indoors in Muskoka, Sawdust City Brewery is the place to seek your refuge. After living in Minnesota, the craft brew beer capital of the world, I have become pretty picky with my beers. Sawdust is a true competitor when it comes to craft beer. The place is awesome. So the tasting flights are amazing, love the system they use as it's not a forced order but a customer choice. Also they do tours! And have a retail store, and they are open until 11. And the beer is crazy good, and the bar is affordable. I have to stop here every time, and now I own mugs, growlers, tank tops. A fan? Why yes. Plus the names of the beer make the drive worth it alone. Princess wears girl pants is a great name. Go find your fave! read more
