Really liked this cute sandwich shop... freshly made sandwiches served nicely on a wooden board. I was here for a quick business lunch but will be backs soon. Had a scoop of the pecan ice cream which was delicious and made in-house. Good quality and quick service with plenty of parking. I will certainly be back!

Have you ever had an experience at a business and was so blown away, that you could not wait to write a review?! Well that's my story. Sawmilly is in a class ALL by itself, especially for a sandwich lover. During one of our explore a neighborhood adventures, we decided to have a sandwich at Sawmilly. We read the menu that is taped to the window just outside of the front door and decided to dine there even though it did not list gluten-free bread as a bread option. Seeing this, the plan was to order one of them without bread.. To our surprise. GF bread was offered and make a Cuban sandwich on GF bread! So 2 we're ordered. One as advertised and the other on GF bread. Both Cubans (one with no changes and one on GF) were made to order and the roast pork was melt in your mouth greatness. The homemade chips were also some of the best I've tasted, though chips are not a favorite food item of mine. I left lunch excited that (1) I stumbled across it, (2) tried it and looking forward to trying other sandwiches the next time. There is something for every palate at Sawmilly. The mere thought of the chips, French onion dip, zucchini pickles and Cuban sandwich are enticing me to return for another visit in the coming days.

Delicious sandwich menu. The peanut butter and jelly panini is the world's most amazing PB and J. They also have a lot of fun ice cream flavors. The staff was warm and friendly.

Great place in downtown Riverside. I had the Cubano Sandwich, homemade chips and dip. Everything was fantastic, I high recommend giving this restaurant a chance.

As seen on Chicago's Best TV 3/17/19. Find it on YouTube.

I was intrigued with their episode last night on Chicago's Best TV and made the trip to try the featured sandwich. Pork Roast Dip was as delicious as it looked. Love to support this type business, which makes everything in house. I look forward to exploring more of their menu. This is the same owner as Chew Chew, which is next door... so I may need to try there too. Very friendly staff. They opened 12/2016, would have likely not found them if not on CBTV.

you guys.... I don't know what sawmilly put in their ice cream but I saw God when I took a bite of my scoop today. just let me put you on to, zanibar chocolate & heaps of love with Reese's pieces.

Came by here for a quick lunch break. Got the pulled chicken sandwich it was very juicy and tasty. They have free Wi-Fi which was great to work on lunch. They also have a variety of sodas and beers if you'd like. I didn't get the potato one but did see others and it looked very good. They have gluten-free bread options for free which is also very nice. I will be back to this cut Sandwich place.e

Very fresh ingredients. Wide selection of sandwiches and ice cream. This is a great stop off the nearby bike trails.

Said it's what they grew up with and they've not had better. The friend I was traveling with was on board so it's how we both ended up having Serbian in Chicago. Lots of parking. Small private lot. Street parking galore. It was a sleepy evening. There was only one party (of four) when we went in. I have to admit, I was skeptical. But the aroma wafting from the kitchen ... My friend and I shared everything. Generous portions. I stuffed myself beyond what I should have. But I couldn't get enough of the grilled meats and roasted vegetables. I could have eaten nothing but the lepinja and kajmak but putting them altogether was so tasty that I just kept eating and eating. The one woman show - she was awesome. Not much English but wasn't needed. She was so pleasant and welcoming and the barrier wasn't an issue - at least for me. As she was a one person team FOH, there were times I wondered if she was also in the back cooking as she would be gone here and there but would show up right when she was needed. I don't know of many Serbian restaurants here in SoCal but when I do (and remember that is), I'll definitely go and see if it compares. I just know it was an excellent meal on my last evening in Chicago for my summer road trip.

The menu has pictures and the portions are plenty. This is easily in my top 3 restaurants of all time. Smells amazing the whole time. Staff was great. Sean helped us out and gave some solid recommendations. We went with the pepperonly pizza. When it hit the table, the presentation looked amazing. First bite... that was it. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside but still soft inside. You could taste that wood-fired char, just enough to give it that smoky edge. The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Crispy on the edges, a little oily in a good way, and full of flavor. Every bite just worked. Thin, balanced, nothing too heavy. If you like pizza, this is one of those spots you gotta try. I'd go back for that one easy.

Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and we enjoyed what we ordered. The Buzzkill pizza was delicious, and the appetizer platter was a great option for the table. Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to seat us, another 10-15 minutes before someone took our order, and when our Snap Into It salad arrived (for a party of three), it only came with two pieces of bread, so we had to ask for a third. At the end of the meal, we waited around 20 minutes just to get our check. The surprising part was that the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so the slow service was hard to understand. The food was definitely the highlight, but because of the overall service experience, I don't think I'd return.
