Went for the first time last week with a friend, ordered a pistachio mango w/ oat milk cold drink that was *amazing.* Together with my friend's latte, the total was about $16. I had part of her banana bread, which was fine. Nothing special. My daughter went a couple of days later and got two small pistachio lattes with oat milk.Total was almost $20. Not great. Owl and Lark is located in the downtown la grange area and is a nice spot for grabbing a quick coffee or huddling up and staying for a while. I wish they opened up earlier than 8am during the week. I typically have coffee around 630-7am but I can understand why they open at 8am if they aren't busy until 8-9ish. I stopped in a little after 8 and the door was still locked. I'm going to guess I was the first customer of the day. When I walked in there was a sewer stench that was over powering. My guess is this might be normal for them - 1 of the staff members was spraying Lysol to get rid of the smell. I ordered via the front counter and got the rose Cardamom latte. I always look forward to being in the area knowing I can get a coffee as a treat. The inside has a modern/boho vibe wish some table and lounge chair seating. I love the mix of textures, fun lighting, and all the plants they have! My favorite lattes are the Rose Cardamom and Lavender Honey Latte; it's never easy to choose! This visit, I chose the Rose Cardamom 12oz latte which comes with fresh rose petals on top! The flavor bursts with every sip and never has the overly syrupy notes as you get to the bottom. She said the latte was good; nothing special but solid. However, she did not like the banana bread. She said it did not have a very prominent "banana flavor" and that the texture seemed off. I ordered the peanut butter smoothie bowl, which was topped with coconut flakes, granola, and sliced almonds. It was good, but I probably would not order it again as it was a bit too runny and almost $20. I cannot say much in terms of service. You place your order at the counter and then go up to pick it up. The girls working were very nice though. The ambiance was quiet and the cooler color palette makes it a calm space to either get some work done or talk with friends. The inside isn't that big, but there's enough room for some comfortable seats to sit and relax. As expected, it's busy early. It still wasn't that long to place an order. There also wasn't that long of a wait to get my stuff. It's about $5 for one of the best drinks, the Coconut Matcha Latte. Really soothing. Also it has a cool color. There's also food. It's about $12 for the smoothie bowls. Many good ones. The Peanut Butter Bowl was full of flavor and protein. Good breakfast. This was almond milk, bananas, peanut butter and vanilla puréed together, then topped with agave, almonds, bananas, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, and granola. For sure it's among the best places in town for breakfast. It also has things like salads for lunch. There's always something healthy including many choices for vegans and vegetarians. read more

This place is small as most are, but there's extremely limited seating. When people are waiting for their takeout orders, they're practically on top of you. This is due to how busy they are, just a FYI. As for the food, I got a peanut butter bowl, muffin, and a 12oz mocha. Everything was huge. There's a lot of food. The muffin was delicious, the peanut butter bowl was filling, and the coffee was good, too. I used to tell my friends about this place, go out of my way to come here, find any excuse to stop in, but now I'm done. The last few times I've been in are absolutely atrocious. The people at the register have absolutely no customer service skills. If they're even remotely busy they are frustrated, and you feel it with your interaction with them. They never say "hello, good morning", or "I'll be right with you one second" - they sadly just arrogantly muscle through their tickets with sour faces and slowly get to you when they can as you awkwardly stand at the register wondering if they even know you exist. I think as they've gotten busiest their product & service have absolutely gone down. I waited literally 20 minutes from my açaí bowl and no one apologized nor did they even think to say hey, we're still working on that, it'll be ready soon. 20 minutes. Thank God I wasn't in a rush. Lastly, the cold brew tastes like tap water & my wife's iced latte was basically white. Where did the espresso disappear to? Really hope they get their act back together. So sad! read more

Very cool shop it's on the smaller end but it seats I would say at least 15 people at a time the baristas and the cashiers were so nice. The coffee was amazing. The baked goods looked great and they had a small freezer for specialty drinks as well. Parking is rare as this is in the heart of downtown Lagrange but there is a garage walking distance. Great art, lots of plants which is right up my alley. Cannot wait to return. read more

On my continued quest of trying different coffee shops, I came across Owl and Lark. Inside was very crowded. There were lots of plants at the counter. While beautiful, it was hard to hear/see the workers when calling out orders. The service was friendly. I think it would be better for them to call out order #s vs. the name of drinks. Several patrons, including myself, had to ask the staff to repeat what they said. It was very loud and crowded inside. I was attempting to do some work, but it was very distracting. I love the village of LaGrange and the coffee fits in perfectly. It has a huge selection of drink and food and the Matcha strawberry latte was everything I didn't know I wanted. The strawberry matcha is delightful and my favorite drink here! The baristas are polite but not over chatty. This spot is always busy, not can't-hear-your-conversation loud but definitely always folks here chatting. This is not a place where you'll find people on their computers though! It's always people chatting, conversing and catching up. Bathrooms are hidden back by the ivy wall. The plants in here are the loveliest touch- so green and full of life! read more

We had a little order mishap here. My wife ordered some sort of rose latte, but the worker apparently didn't hear her. I proceeded with my order of cappuccino and magic bowl. The latter two items came out quickly enough, but after a while we asked about the rose latte only to find out they never made it. We were already a little annoyed because there was no seating available and we had two kids with us, so we left. The interior of Owl and Lark looks great, but it's tiny and not family friendly. Plus, with the plastic covid screen and loud music, you really have to speak up so the workers can hear you. I still decided to give 4 stars because the cappuccino was very good and the magic bowl was even better. The bowl looked amazing with the blue spirulina base and tasted delicious overall, though the strawberries were tart. This was my first time at this coffee shop, so my first impression is good food and coffee, but lacking in seating and somewhat in service (which could be partly solved by turning the music down). read more

My cousin and found this really cute cafe in La Grange, IL when walking down South La Grange Rd. We were craving something healthy, like an acai bowl and some matcha. We decided to check this place out on a whim and were not disappointed. We tried the salmon toast, the avacado bagel, the green passion smoothie, the honey lavender latte and the Vietnamese coffee. The place wasn't that packed and we had seating available for 2. I tried honey lavender latte, rose latte, avocado toast, and açaí bowl. I loved the drinks but wasn't a big fan of the food here. The avocado looked good but it was nothing extraordinary and same goes for açaí bowl. I thought the price for food was little bit on the expensive side and given the taste, it wasn't worth it. However the drinks were reasonable price and tasted really good. I would definitely recommend this place for a coffee or tea date because the coffee shop is really cute and decor was on point.
