I have had bad experiences with the vet clinic. Many years ago, they told me my dog had a torn acl and it would be $6000 for surgery. A second opinion showed me an X-ray with no torn acl. Unfortunatel, I feel they care more about money than caring for the pet. read more

Took my French bulldogge to repair a declaw they were very professional and enjoyed going there. He had a lump on his testicle and recommended to have him neutered...Set up a appointment for April...they prescribed him aniexty medicine before surgery...gave him the medicine dropped him off at 7:30 and another dog broke loose and came after my dog in an aggressive manner I put my leg in between my dog and the other dog and yelled for help....6 hours later he still haven't had the surgery...the doctor called recommending that I give him anxiety medicine before they would do the surgery. I informed her that I gave him the medicine they prescribed....so at this point I was disappointed and frustrate...I picked my dog up and had a disagreement with one of the workers...she ask me if I got bite and my dog doesn't show any signs of a dog fight...she told me I was rude...contrary to her belief my dog was put under undo stress and aniexty for no reason...ask for my dog and the receptionist stated I was only going to be charged for medicine...I informed them I will not be paying......I truly let them know how unprofessional and rude they were... read more

I would not recommend Saxony Animal Clinic to anyone. Unfortunately my cat of 14 years had started to severely decline. She stopped eating, drinking was unable to hardly move and had lost control of her bladder. She was a hot mess, and broke my heart. I made the difficult decision to euthanize her. I called the clinic and spoke to a wonderful sympathetic women on the phone. I told her I did not want a visit but simply wanted to help my cat cross the rainbow bridge. She scheduled me an appointment and gave me an estimate for cremation costs etc. I struggled with this decision for a whole week. My family and I watched my cat moan in pain to poop or pee. She could barely lift her head up. After arriving at the office the young tech ask the same question over and over again. What was wrong with our kitty. After telling her 3 different times, she announces the vet has to examine. The tech picked my cat up and placed her on the table with no issues.. my cat would typically hiss and go bonkers with anyone picking her up besides me. The vet came in asked us the same questions as the tech .. checked my cats heart and lungs in less than 10 seconds and said she seems healthy. They would like to run some tests and treat her. I attempted to explain that my cats has no respectful life In her condition. She is no longer grooming herself, she has grown some sores along with no longer eating or drinking in the last 5 dand I felt that it was time for her to rest. The tech came back in our room and reported my cat was alert and I had options.. 1) sign her over to the clinic, which she reported this is something they never do 2) pay for testing and treatment or 3) euthanize her. I have known my cat for 14 years of her life. I was not putting her through additional blood work or testing. And what a slap in the face to say I could sign her over to them! My husband was pissed and asked how they knew her quality of life and what alert looks like. The tech responded with we see cats everyday we know. Yes I will give them credit but this was my cat! My baby.. I knew it was her time and she was ready. I found it extremely unethical how my situation was handled. The tech told the vet she felt threaten by my husband because he raised his voice with a question. I apologized for his actions and explained how difficult this was for both of us. I was told by the vet that I will be receiving a letter that I'm no longer allowed to return to the clinic. After this horrible experience I will never step foot in that clinic! It's sad that my wishes were viewed as I no longer wanted my cat. After thinking about the occasion they were only looking for more money with unnecessary testing. My concerns were never heard. I walked out of the clinic numb.. feeling as if I had made the wrong choice to let my cat cross the rainbow bridge or that I was a horrible pet owner. Even though multiple friends, family members and a family member who's a vet tech told me I made the right decision. My poor kitty had no quality of life and was struggling. At any point in this visit.. nothing was explained to me. I was told nothing about what type of testing or what they felt like was happening. I did not feel heard and did not feel respected. The clinic did allow me to euthanize my cat but offered no process steps of what will happened. They were very cold with our decision. Alls I could do was cry. We also paid for a private cremation, I was never told what the next steps were for cremation. I am very disappointed. Don't take your pet here, they are only looking for money and when you don't agree with them they treat you rudely. read more

AVOID THIS CLINIC AT ALL COSTS!!! The office staff at this clinic are the most unprofessional and flat out despicable people you could ever have the occasion to meet or speak to. I'm extremely disappointed in myself that I have ever allowed my animals to be seen at this clinic in general. Upon calling to attempt to schedule a regular check up for my cat, a woman claiming to be a nurse at the clinic could barely be bothered to schedule my appointment, because "she had a waiting room full of people". She spoke with the maturity and professionalism of a 12 year old, surfing her Instagram account, screwed up sending a medication to the pharmacy, refused to answer any question or concerns about the appointment or the medication dosing, because she was in hurry. Upon calling back two days later to speak with the office manager regarding the attitude of the previous employee, I was told that it was ME being terminated from the practice, without the input of the vet, simply based on her spur of the moment reading of her child-like employee's scribblings about the initial call. More than anything I am disappointed and hurt by the fact that I trusted my animals to a clinic that employees such loathsome people. I will tell anyone and everyone I know to stay away from this place. The clinic staff of this practice are horrible people. Avoid dealing with them at all costs! read more

This is only the second yelp review I have ever made. This time, what I have to say, is important. I have been taking my multitude of pets to Saxony Animal Clinic in Sarver for over 40 years. Last week I called about my critically ill dog. I was told they could not see me on that day nor the next. Then it was the weekend and I would have to wait till Monday. Despite my pleads and reminding them of my loyalty to the clinic, I was instructed to take her to an emergency clinic. Even though the cost of these clinics are outrageous, the worse thing was I did not know anyone. After being evaluated at three emergency clinics, we made the heart wrenching decision to put her down. We were in a clinic we had never been to, surrounded by strangers. I found this unacceptable! Decades ago, at Saxony Animal Clinic, they saw my sick pets before clinic hours, after clinic hours and on Sunday. I could ALWAYS count on them to be there for me and my pets. This is no longer true. Saxony has lost their compassion. They simply do not care anymore. They are either unaware or do not recognize the love and devotion their clients have for their beloved pets. They do not comprehend how difficult it is to put down a member of your family under any circumstance let alone not to be allowed to do so in your home clinic. Shame on Saxony Animal Clinic! I realize they have staffing issues, but that is absolutely no excuse when it comes to critically ill animals. Especially, when it is a loyal client who has been going there for 40 years. Never again will I take my animals to saxony animal clinic. My regular vet was booked so I figured I would go back to my roots where I used to work because they are fantastic people or so I thought. The techs were fantastic as always, the doctor himself was unprofessional. I spoke with the doctor and towards the end of the appointment I brought up the fact that I used to work there.. Well according to him after he walked out of the room and was bad mouthing me and I could hear the entire conversation he said "it pisses me off she says she use to work here". He said some other things but I leave that out of the review, I recorded the entire thing for anyone who would like to hear it feel free to contact me because it's very interesting that we trust these people to take care of our animals and they're more worried about everything else but our animals. Not every doctor there is a moron but this one takes the cake. I couldn't even get an apology from the doctor for how he acted, and had to take my cat to the emergency vet. read more

My elderly mother recently lost her husband and had to move into a retirement community close to Saxony Animal Clinic. In my mother's frail state, she was physically unable to bring her dog to the clinic when it began having seizures. Sadly, the poor little pooch was dying...but Saxony came to my mother's apartment to retrieve the little guy for my mother. And after he passed, Saxony not only gave my mother a plaster cast of his paw print and a clip of his fur...they also waived all fees! Truly touching. We are incredibly grateful for this. read more

I've been going here since I moved up here 11 years ago. Very knowledgeable and caring staff. My pets have always gotten excellent care and the vets I've seen are awesome. My favorite is Dr. Wilderoter (or Dr. W.). She does a little chiropracting and accupuncture on pets, as well as traditional forms of medicine. She's seen so many of my pets over the years. You can't go wrong with Dr. W and the staff. I only wish they did emergency hours since I trust them much more than I would trust the emergency vets. read more

Recommended unneeded, painful, expensive surgery for my dog. They tried to pressure me into this surgery. My dog is healthy and happy today. I gave then over 200 dollars for the visit, a bunch of meds, and some simple and unneeded procedure. all they did helpful was sell me overpriced amoxicillin. When I refused the surgery, I was told it was the ethical way to go. I felt judged. I believe I saved my dog a lot of trouble by leaving without the surgery. When my cat needed surgery, they were hundreds of dollars cheaper than surrounding clinics. They were wonderful and caring. In the many years since then, they have been consistently friendly and helpful to our family and pets. We never had a problem with their care of my 9 year old 120Lb Rottweiler (whereas another hospital in Monroeville muzzled him).
