I cant not even begin to express my, quite frank,HATE for this vet. It, still to this day is hard for me to write this but I find it important. On Feb 1, 2010 my cat had an apt bc he was trying to use the litter box but could not. My reg. vet didn't have an apt but this local vet did. Shame on both for not getting me in asap when I explained the situation. This a$$ with a bad attitude and a foreign accent and a chip on his shoulder walked in 90 min late for the appt. Talked to me for all of 30 seconds, felt my animal for 30 seconds and instantly said he needed test. Turns out he was right. Go figure... its either bc he is an ass or a great vet. Well let me tell you its bc he is an ass!!!! Longggggg story short he explained the test results to me like I was 4 and too stupid to function. When I had an intelligent question about them he huffed and puffed. Well I thought he was a vet hospital?? Apparently not! Um-kay! When it came down to finally decision... English answers. Finally at $600 he told me I needed to take my cat to the emergency vet for being the choice to put down my cat (not bc of money) ( but bc of health issues) he scolded me bc he sent "the nurse home that had the key" I asked what this meant. Apparently he is the head shit in charge but does not do or have access to euthanasia meds. WTF?! SO at this point when I was pressed to make a choice, bc it was past closing time ( not past closing time since he was late seeing my pet) he got all in a huff and puff, told me how lucky I was that the "tech with the key was willing to come back" That shit! So the tech came back and magically at the counter turned from 600 to 775. Overtime! Asshole! Well at that point we decided enough was enough, Our cat was not acting like himself and with the broken asshole English vet we kinda sorta thought it would be best to put the cat down. We were actually prepared to spend $3k to make this cat better. When we were ready...for us to go into a room.... we decided to put the cat down...no more than 5 min later he appeared in the doorway with a full syringe (of the drug that would kill our pet) saying "is she ready yet? (with an attitude... kinda irritated and blaze) said "Ummm noooo! He didn't like this. I hired a vet later to read the results of the blood test... it was the right thing to do bc he was so far gone. Was this bc of knowledge or a puffed up chest? But I told the vet the circumstances.... none too pleased. I about 2.5 years later find that he becomes one of my clients.... let's just say he is just an asshole a vet as he is a client. Im just itching for karma to find him. May I add when we asked to be present during the euthanasia he asked for another $75... asshole !So... 1k to get seen for 5 min, talked to like an idiot for 5, and put down with med .... he is the biggest F(@k!N& a$$h*l) Ive ever met. Excellent vet and support staff! We live in Pittsburgh and our primary vet provided 3 options for surgery around the Greater Pittsburgh area when one of our three dogs tore her ACL while playing at the dog park. We talked to all three vets and determined that Rainbow Pet Care was the Right place for us due to Dr. Giri's extensive surgical background. Our 6 year old Multipoo was seen by Dr. Giri's's office immediately, she was quickly assessed and recommendations were offered for various treatments. The most logical to us, surgery to repair her torn ACL, was the right solution for us. Dr. Giri requested a post-op stay for our dog to keep her calm and quiet for an optimal recovery, which we accepted, and he encouraged us to visit her every day. While there, we discussed our concerns for our second dog, an 8 year old Maltiese, with 4 bumps located on her back. Again Dr. Giri provided several options, and we thought the wisest solution was to have those bumps surgically removed. Which he did and she has totally recovered. The next concern came when we realized that a pre-planned trip was going to need to be cancelled because our little girl recovering from her repaired torn ACL surgery would not be able to stay in a kennel because she required a quiet play to stay to continue her recovery. Once again Dr. Giri came to our aid, he explained that they now offer affordable kennel stays for their clients. We could travel with peace of mind knowing all three of our dogs would be cared for and loved by this vet and his support staff. In fact, we received regular texts updating us on each dogs' health and activity. We cannot find the words to express how grateful we were to have found Rainbow Pet Care Center! For us, this vet, Dr. Bimal Giri and his attentive employees have won us over completely! Although his office is a 25 minute drive, it is absolutely the Best place for our three dogs to receive their check-ups and we plan to use them from this day forward. Over the years I have conducted a massive search for the perfect vet. I have driven miles, and have been referred to many by countless friends only to be consistently frustrated and disappointed with the service they provided. Then, low and behold, in my very own hometown of Oakmont appeared Dr.Giri. Oakmont has not had a vet during the 33 years I have resided here so I was excited at the prospect of being able to take my dog to a vet without driving 45 minutes. However, due to my previous negative experiences, I was skeptical to say the least. The office is small and cozy. When I arrived I was greeted by Dr.Giri which in itself is unique. He is the only vet and therefore, the one I see regularly. This is a positive because my dog remembers and feels comfortable and at home when we arrive. Dr.Giri is always kind and positive. His vet tech is exactly the same. Dr.Giri is by far the most thorough of any vet I have ever used. He tells me what and why he is doing what he is doing while he does it. He answers any and all questions with patience and knowledge. But, the best part is, when there is a blood test or sample test to be run, he does it on the spot and results are given within minutes. I don't have to wait for a phone call. He pays close attention to what my dog needs in the way of meds and tests. One time he actually made a special trip and opened the office, when it was typically closed that evening, in order to have available the medication my pup needed. He called and told me he would be there and I could pick it up. I couldn't believe it! Who goes to that extent to ensure the safety and health of your pet? Only Dr. Giri, that's who. Upon relocating from Florida to Pennsylvania we needed to find a veterinary for our English Bulldog, Temple. While in Florida Temple tore her ACL while we were in the process of moving. So we knew what we were facing after arriving in Natrona Heights, Pa. We started looking around and found a vet on the other side of town and took Temple there for their opinion. When walking in door we had a bad feeling about this place and to do ACL repair we would need to go all the way to another vet to do surgery. A week later we decided to go to Rainbow Veterinary Hospital. Our first thought was wow there are no cars in parking lot, to our surprise we were very welcomed at front desk and met Dr. Giri. We explained to Dr Giri of Temple tearing her ACL in Florida and needed his opinion. Dr. Giri did an exam and set Temple up for x rays and explained the entire process, all costs were explained up front, and gave us a tour of the Hospital. To our surprise the surgery would take place right there at the hospital by Dr Giri and not across town. Yes we had Temples surgery done a week later and when we went to visit Temple the 2nd day she was already putting some weight on the back leg. I forgot to mention they kept Temple for 3 days for therapy, in their boarding kennels. The surgery went fantastic, Temple is walking ahead of schedule, now doing steps after 6 weeks. We would highly recommend Rainbow Veterinary Hospital for ACL repair and for your veterinary services. In fact we had told the stylist who cuts our hair now she takes her 2 dogs there. I have dealt with many vets, both for large animals and small, for quite a few years and can say without any hesitation that Dr. Giri is probably the best diagnostician and talented vet I have ever observed. He quite literally saved the life of one of my dogs when the dog had an adverse reaction to a drug. He stopped everything that he was doing to stabilize my dog and because of his quick actions I am happy to say that 3 years later my 13 year old dog is still with me. I recently had some serious issues with one of my cats and when a problem arose on Super Bowl Sunday Dr. Giri did not hesitate to have me bring him to the clinic to be treated. He always has the best interests of the animal at heart. I have had my amimals teeth cleaned fairly regularly over the years and have never had an adverse reaction. Dr. Giri is an extremely ethical and caring vet. As with human doctors, he needs to examine an animal before diagnosing or prescribing any medicine. Veterinary medicines are as expensive as human drugs. Equipment costs have risen. Veterinary care now has risen to very much the same level as human medicine and as human care cost rise so do veterinary costs. Although sometimes expensive, options exist within treatment plans to sometimes ease the financial situation. My wife and I are extremely happy with the care our mastiff received from Dr. Giri and his staff! Our 175lb dog needed a TPLO surgery and we were a bit concerned because this dog is part of our family and it is not a minor surgery. We traveled some 60 miles from Ohio to make sure our dog had the best treatment available! Dr. Giri walked us through the entire process and made sure we were comfortable with the process. The doctor showed us many successful outcomes and how many hours he spends getting prepared. It was amazing to see how many hours of extra classes he has taken to prepare for this type of surgery. He and his staff showed great care following the surgery and made sure we were able to take care of our boy. The steps Dr. Giri took to make sure all was successful made us comfortable with our decision. It has been just over a week since the surgery and I can tell you our Onslow is doing very well! The pain and swelling were quite minimal and, he is resting and eating quite well. The discomfort appears to be minimal as he tries to play and do more than he should but we do as Dr.Giri has directed and keep him in under control. Just have Dr Giri show you my dogs video pre and post op TPLO surgery . 6 weeks ago he repaired her torn ACL ( CCL in dogs) He first sedated her for xrays ( cleaned her teeth at my request ) to obtain measurements. A few days later we scheduled surgery and she spent 2 days inpatient. She received cold therapy to the area and pain relief round the clock. When I picked her up to my amazement she was weight bearing at what looked to be 60 to 70 % on the repaired leg! Upon discharge he provided us with his own cell phone number and very good instructions and a video to watch before leaving. You really must follow his instructions for the best outcome. Which as an E.R. nurse I did. Bella is a 10 year old All American she continues to make very good progress and I expect to have my Dog agility teammate back to competition in about 6 months from now. Total cost for xrays , all medication ( clindamycin is expensive) E - collar ( YOU MUST LEAVE THIS ON ALWAYS) teeth cleaning and the surgery was 2,600 dollars. Dr. Giri repaired our dog's torn ACL recently using TPLO surgery, and we have been very pleased. He spent a lot of time with us the first visit (not to mention it was late Friday afternoon as an emergency). He spent time explaining the injury after the next visit (which included x-rays) and he patiently waited as I asked numerous questions. He even encouraged us to ask questions! When I would call with a question, Dr. Giri himself would call me back. He always made the time. He was even willing to keep our dog when we thought he needed extra cold therapy (which thankfully he didn't) and he treated Dexter like he was his own dog. He even acts like he likes him, and he's an active almost two year old Shepherd/Pit bull mix weighing 80 pounds. He's doing well after three weeks, but we have a very active dog. We have been patients of Dr. Giri since be obtained Rainbow Pet Care Center. We have always had complete faith in all procedures, checkups, testing & treatment of our pets. Our beagle Katie has had multiple surgeries done by Dr. Giri. First he removed a foreign object from her intestines as she ate something she shouldn't have. Approximately a year later she had a torn ligament & dislocated kneecap in one rear leg. This procedure required extensive surgery & recovery involving many long months. The following year the kneecap in the other rear leg also was dislocated. This procedure wasn't as complicated as the previous surgery but still had lengthy recovery. We took our dog, Nigel to Rainbow Vet Hospital for a second opinion. It was suspected that he had torn both ACLs. Dr. Giri did an exam,( which included sedating him so that he could actually move his legs freely). After watching and videoing him walk, viewing the xrays, and moving his legs, he confirmed the original diagnosis. He explained in great detail the TPLO surgery as well as the cost, which was a significant reduction compared to our original estimate. Nigel had his first surgery on Sept 18th, and it is healing very nicely. He actually was walking on it within a few days! We are very pleased with Dr. Giri and his staff!! He has kept a close eye on Nigel ( via pictures from us to his cell..) to ensure he continues to make progress, and he is very cautious regarding minimizing risk of infection. My black lab Gracie had TPLO surgery in December, this is her 2nd TPLO surgery with Dr. Giri. Her 1st one healed amazingly and we are now 1 month into her recovery from her 2nd one. She is doing great. Dr. Giri and his staff (Cheryl, Keith, and Tom are amazing with Gracie and myself. They are so caring and attentive to all of our needs. Dr. Giri explains everything in detail and is always available if I have any questions or need anything. He is also half the price of any other vet that does the TPLO surgery in the area, and that includes everything from the first consultation through her surgery and her follow ups and meds. We recently had our lab here for a TPLO surgery. We didn't have anyone close to us to perform this surgery, so while searching we found Dr Giri. Dr Giri and his team were very helpful with answering our questions, and were able to get our dog in sooner than most places for the surgery, which was important as we could tell our dog was in pain. They also were significant less in price, for the same surgery and same care! They didn't charge me more because Gunther was over 80 pounds either. We had to travel and drove about an hour and half so it was important to me to find a vet where my dog would be in good hands. We go back for our checkup and xrays in a few days and I'll report back - but since the surgery Gunther seems to be recovering well and we've had no problems. Dr Giri is always available to answer my questions. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you need the TPLO surgery for your large dog. read more

I would recommend them to everyone!!! They are the nicest people! the Doctor was willing to help my dog anyway he could! He fixed her leg when she was hit by a car at just 7 months old and she was just like new. it was severely broken and she had a partially collapsed lung but he was willing to work with us on price and gave us every option. We could have amputated but I didn't want that so they did everything they could to save it and it was very successful! Fast forward to 6 years later she came down with a rare sickness and they all did it again! gave us every option and was willing to help us with price!! When I was in the office crying uncontrollably he didn't want me to be upset and reassured me it was all going to be ok! well sure enough the treatments worked and she is getting better everyday!! As a longtime client, I totally trust Dr.G for my pets' care. When my older dog was ill recently, this Dr. checked on him in the middle of the night! And, he called me at home to follow up on his recovery! At an exam, someone shows me an estimate that I must agree to before any treatment begins. I appreciate this, especially since I do have a budget. It is also an advantage that Dr.G has the skill & equipment to perform procedures that other doctors send to a specialist for. We've taken our pets, 2 dogs and 1 cat, to Rainbow for several years now. I have found Dr. Giri and his staff are very friendly and compassionate. We recently had a tumor removed from our Pomeranian's neck, the incision is very clean and she is recovering well, and the cost was less than the original estimate. We also had our cat in for surgery previously for spaying, the same day we got her home she ripped out her stitches running and jumping through the house, Dr. Giri stitched her back up for free, and suggested we keep her their for a couple days.
