Took my dog into get looked her paw looked at. They had me sit on the bench for 2 hours then took me in the waiting room just to tell me they aren't gonna do anything for her today. Wanted to give her all her vaccines and bloodwork after I just showed them proof of everything, then tried to get me to pay 130$ just for them to remove the bandage I had on wrap it again, the same way I wrapped it at home. Brought a 9.5 yr old Dahlia a lab/shepherd mix to PetSmart at Pittsburgh Mills. Dahlia's owner passed away, and she was alone in the house for a couple of days. Molly bathed Dahlia, clipped her nails and helped us with purchases in the store. We couldn't give Molly a higher rating as she went above and beyond to help us. Everyone else at the PetSmart was very nice to us also. We are from out of town but would come back here for any services. read more

I can't say enough on how kind and compassionate the staff was. We woke up to our elderly dog needing to be put to sleep . I called my regular vet and 4 other places and no one was able to schedule us. Pet smarts schedule was booked but they made time to help our dog to keep from suffering. Weirdly this is one of the more busy places up at the Mills site. Probably one of the better places up here. It is located in a small strip that once had a Best Buy, so it's kind of the only thing there now. That should translate into ample parking. This one seems to be set up a little differently than others I have been to which made for navigating a bit weird. It felt like it was set up backwards in here. Nevertheless I was able to find what I needed because of the clear signage hanging high above the sections. Good prices if you have their savings card, ample products and since it is a pet store you have your top choices of every single item. Pet grooming and a vet is available as well. Place is a joke. Can't get an accurate price for anything. Every time I ask price goes up. Teeth cleaning was 350. Then 373. Then 460. Yeah no. Guess it's my fault because I kept asking. We bought a ball python from this store at the end of January and had it for a week and a half before noticing that it was infested with mites. We called the store and were told it was from the bedding (which we purchased from the same store). They were extremely unhelpful and we ended up contacting a different location and they told us how to bathe it to get rid of them. We bathed and completely tore down/disinfected the snake and enclosure weekly for a month and a half and they would be better for 2 days and then return. We called the store multiple times about this and even stopped in in person and spoke with multiple different associates with little to no help. Only after contacting corporate did the store begin to care that they sold us a mite infested snake. We unfortunately do not have time in our busy lives to deal with the level of care the snake needed and chose to return him to the store. When we did so, both the store manager and assistant manager were INCREDIBLY rude to us straight off the bat for absolutely no reason. They both consistently tried to tell us that we were lying while lying to us to cover themselves. The assistant manager looked at the snake for all of 3 seconds and continued to tell us she saw no mites in a snarky tone, as well as tried to tell us that he was sick because he only ate one time (we tried feeding him every week but a sick snake typically won't eat) and constantly was trying to put all of the blame on us. We didn't even get a simple "I'm sorry that this happened" which is literally the bare minimum of customer service. The store manager lied saying she tried calling me multiple times and left me voicemails and not a single missed call or voicemail was found in my phone log. I have never had to deal with such terrible customer service or such rude managers anywhere in my life. We will absolutely never be stepping foot in this store again. read more

Located at Pittsburgh mills. I have cockapoo, that needs to be groomed about every six weeks. Although there are locations closer to me I prefer the Pgh mills grooming. Not only is the grooming service affordable, but my pet seems to like going there as well. Her cut is always consistent with what I ask for and she never came back nicked up or anything . read more

We have used this groomer for years but,unfortunately it has changed. The service is terrible. The employee we dealt with was rude and incompetent. We found another groomer locally at Maya's Grooming who was very sweet, caring and did a phenomenal job and amazingly at about half the cost. We will not be returning to PetSmart. read more

Customer service terrible. Twice I filled out a survey complaining about something and twice I was ignored. Please do not give me any more surveys if you intend to ignore them and not please a customer. The last visit WAS my last. I went in, scheduled appt, no other dogs there. I was told two hours. I came back in two hours and my dog was 'just beginning' the grooming process (still no one else in the place). I was told ONE MORE HOUR! Why I asked? She said something about phone calls. Really? Was looking for a dog harness and found one on the end of the aisle. There were about 10 or so on the rack, 2 different colors. The price on the rack said $8.77. I checked and made sure the brand tag on the harness and the price tag was the same and it was, Kong. When I brought it to the cashier it rang up at $15. When I questioned it she went and checked and when she returned she told me that someone put them in the wrong place. I thought that they had to sell items at the price they were marked???? Leslie Stevens, the trainer at this Petsmart, is fabulous. Her philosophy is to teach dogs to obey through a partnership with their owner because they naturally want to please. She is so patient with both dogs and owners, but she gets such amazing results. She shaped our relationship with our dog by allowing us to see such success in his training, and he became a much calmer and more disciplined dog through her work. We are so appreciative of her skills -- we go back just to visit her! read more

From an earlier post to my Facebook page. I only chose a "star" in the rating because I could not continue with zero stars. I have been stewing about this and decided I needed to get it off of my mind. All of you know that I have a pit bull named Raina, I post her silly sweetness all of the time. Many of you have had the opportunity to meet her, have had her jump into your lap or cuddle with your children. I have always taken Raina to Petsmart at Pittsburgh Mills to get her nails trimmed. We won't be going back. On our recent visit we walked into the salon and noted that it was a busy day. We were not greeted. We were told by a surly young blond woman that "it's going to be 10 or 15 minutes". I said no problem. I proceeded to stand quietly in a corner with Raina seated at my feet. One woman did ask if we'd been there before, I said yes. Eventually the surly blond came to the counter and said "have you been here before". I said yes and started to give her my last name. She interrupted me with "phone number". I gave her my phone number and confirmed my dog's name. She stated "your rabies is expired" I replied, it's not, she got it in 2015, I can't remember which but it's either a 2 or 3 year vaccination and I brought the paper in when it was updated. The staff member replied "it's expired". To which I replied, it's not. I attempted to show her the tag and again stated it was a multiple year vaccination. She replied "3 years, (eye roll) rabies is 3 years but my system says yours is expired so it's expired unless you have the papers". I stated that I did not have the paper work, but also couldn't understand the mix-up. She replied "if you don't have proof I can't do her nails because she's old and I'm not allowed to muzzle an old dog and she's a pit bull". Let that sink in for a minute. I walked out silently. Any of you who know me recognize silence as the hallmark of my extreme anger, the kind of mad that does not come easily to me. The kind where my crazy is shining in my eyes. That young woman is extremely lucky that I am self-aware enough to have walked away. I can assure you that I am considerably more ferocious than my pit bull. To be clear, I'm not upset about the rule. I get it, it protects workers and all of the animals who are entrusted to their care. It makes sense and I respect it. I am upset about a staff member who on a busy day was clearly not looking for anymore work to do. I mean, hadn't she immediately attempted to dissuade me from waiting? I am upset about a service professional who could not say "it looks like our records need updated for Raina's rabies information, do you happen to have her vaccination paperwork"? I am upset about a service professional who was spoiling for an argument rather than ready to acknowledge my inconvenience and apologize for not being able to provide the service I was seeking. Would it have been so hard to say "I'm so sorry for any inconvenience, I see that you are a long time customer and it seems like our records were not accurately updated when you brought in the paperwork- we'll look forward to seeing Raina another time". I was not upset that Raina couldn't get her nails trimmed, it is not life or death. It would have been no big deal; I would have gone home, put her records in my purse and gone back another day. I am basically a rule follower and I understand the inherent safety concern behind that one. I am upset because this obtuse and insensate young woman decided to close her unnecessary argument with a comment about my dog's age and specifically her breed. I am furious about her behavior, her ridiculous bias and her insensitivity. My sweet girl was discriminated against by a young woman who likely imposes her injudicious beliefs on all of those pet owners who trust Petsmart with the care of their animals. Im sure that many other pit bull owners probably haven't had the opportunity to actually hear it spouted by her in this uneducated and malefic way, but it sure does make this pit bull mom wonder how else her profoundly misguided "opinions" affect the work that she does? I take my lab in for grooming about every 6-8 weeks. He's just too big for me to bathe myself and he makes a big mess in the house when I bathe him at home, as well. Additionally, I've cut a toenail too short before and I don't want to do that to my furbaby! He is 13 years old, and has difficulty getting around. They let him lay while they brush him, and they gently grind his nails, even though he pulls away somewhat in his geriatric age. I have nothing but compliments for their team as they love my dog and treat him like he is their own! read more

I went to this Pet Smart for the first time 3 weeks ago before I got my very first puppy. The older lady working the desk talked us into buying the puppy booklet to get all the coupons that included a free bag of dog food. She looked at our cart and started pulling out all the coupons that went with our purchase. We got home and I went through the book and saw that there was still a free bag of dog food coupon in there but had no barcode and we were charged for our bag that we bought that day. So I took the coupon in today to get my 1 free bag and the young girl handed it back to me saying it's invalid and that someone had already used my free bag coupon. The manager wouldn't even give me the time of day to say I had NOT used my free coupon, and that the original lady took it out of the booklet and still charged me for my first bag. Now I know that customers sometimes try to get stuff for free but seriously!?! We were completely ripped off buying this booklet when this bag of dog food cost me over $60. Horrible customer service and I will not ever shop at this Pet Smart again. read more
