We contacted the…read morecompany and discussed these matters with them before posting this. #1 - Although we are the property/homeowner, you do not have to be home during install. We are nervous homeowners. We took off work to be there. Unlike other construction we have used, Creative has only ONE crew that installs. That weight is on the ONE foreman who will have to take off work unexpectedly. No one showed. #2 - Calls the day of. We were called the morning of and asked "Can they come today?" We felt this "same day" scheduling was very erratic, compared to what we experienced with this company before. #3 - Customers - mark your wires and inform your adjuster. Your buried internet and automower wires are not marked by the Utility company. Inform your adjuster so he/she can help you get these marked. The 3-star rating was a 1-star. The company took time to speak with us about the issues, so we are showing some teamwork. Gary has been there for decades and knows his stuff. The management here - doesn't have time for conversation or empathy. They will throw the paper work back in at you, and you can see that response in their comments to reviews here. Sometime everything legal isn't moral/correct. We aren't sure we will use them again. It just seems sloppy and unorganized for our type of property ownership. I'm sure it would work great for other types of homeowners.

I addressed the need for good communication prior to signing the contract. I was assured this was not the case, that people are just bitter, and I was assured good teamwork. Well...Communication was HORRIBLE. Job was supposed to be done in 3-4 days, took over a month to build my fence (from first dig until completion). Excuses included: our guy unexpectedly left the country for the month, our machines broke down, we realized we didn't have the parts (tied a plastic bag around the gate instead of a latch and left without talking to me), we need to come back and dig bigger holes (fence came dissembled and parts leaned), broke a pool pipe and needed to order. When I spoke to Jim and stated that I was at the point of writing a poor review. He replied, "Well, when it rains it pours; Some customers have good experiences." I met the project manager 3 WEEKS after initiating the job because I went outside to talk to them. Project manager NEVER knocked on my door or reached out to communicate these problems or delays. Returning calls were always a different person and it took over a week to respond to emails unless I mentioned BBB. I informed them that I wanted to discuss the final payment. They returned my call while I was out of town for the holidays and then charged my cc without my consent. Again, do not recommend!

Fence and deck connection are the contractors who built the deck. So I called them to see if they could come make the repair. I sent them a picture and they responded quickly! I was given some information & guidance about reaching out to my HOA, which I had not thought of so that was helpful. They gave me options for the repair and all I had to do was choose the time frame. The overall the experience was convenient as they sent me an invoice. I was able to pay a portion of the bill until after they completed the replacement. They arrived promptly, actually early, on the agreed upon date and the beam was exchanged within 2 hours. They also had the best price, but the initial responsiveness and knowledge of product. The project began few days ago, they sent 2 men? But when you see the quality and expertise of them you see why. We have large 16'x16' main deck with 2 more levels , 2nd level attaches to screened in porch. George was so meticulous I was so impressed at his level of craftsmanship and attention to every detail! In 3 days they removed existing wood, and installed new TimberTech decking and main stairs. Next few days the remaining work, 2 sets of stairs, and rail system. The initial engagement with the owner Curt was pleasant, the quote we received was reasonable, and the job started 8 weeks after we signed the contract. Unfortunately, that's where the good ended... On the day of the job, the crew didn't let us know they were onsite, which wasn't a good start. Then after the work was completed they left without notifying us that the job was done nor doing a walkthrough with us. The next day we looked over the work and noticed that two of the installed gates were not level and were substantially tilted to one side. We contacted their office manager, Tammy, who stated that the owner Curt would stop by the following day to review the issues. Curt was a no-show and after following up with Tammy she stated he would stop by the next day instead. He was again a no-show. We once again followed up and asked for a specific day and time that they would come out so that we didn't have to miss work again and never received a response... The following weekend Curt finally showed up unannounced and without notice and never apologized for the no-shows. He then immediately asked in a defensive tone "What's your problem with the gates?". We explained the issue and he tried to blame it on the previous fence builder. We stated that the previous gates were level and installed correctly and he replied "Well then what do you expect, this was a repair job". Uh ok... I expect properly built and installed gates, per our contract. He finally agreed that one of the gates should be rebuilt after initially denying it had issues and said he would try to reposition the other gate to reduce the slant, but he clearly was not happy about doing the work. Also, after providing feedback on the crew's disappearing act he stated "We have bigger jobs than this that are more important". When I stated I couldn't recommend them to others due to their lack of customer service, he walked off and barked "We have plenty of other work in this area so I'm not worried about it". Wow... A simple apology would have gone a long way... Ultimately they did fix the gates and followed up to see if we were satisfied. However, based on our overall experience I would not recommend this company due to their lack of basic customer service, lack of basic respect for their customers, and shoddy workmanship. Also, they clearly don't value smaller jobs, which is a bad move on their part because they lost future business with me as well as my neighbors who asked about my experience.
