Too bad this is the only location offering classes like this because it's different and challenging in a good way. If you're looking to switch up your regular workout routine, this is the perfect alternative. It is a full-body workout! A small studio with its entrance located at the rear of the building. They offer many different classes and one of them is Bounce Fit which includes an individual trampoline. I'm sure if you go often, you'll get a hang of it, but as first-timers, it was mostly learning basic techniques and trying not to break an ankle, haha. Ever since I moved into the area I've been looking for a place to get a good workout in as well as meet friendly people. SBM Group Fitness is exactly that! This is a nice intense yet to the point class that I took here. I am gonna start taking the kickboxing regularly because that's what fits my schedule. They have a lot of classes and the times are great , hey if any place can fit my crazy schedule then they're definitely flexible. I like the length of the workouts. The guys got wisdom too, he was talking about how boxing is great for your memory along with being a great workout and I was like y'know what this guys great. It's been awhile for me so I needed some practice with some of my punches and kicks, this place is perfect for that. I really like the music too at first he played played a good amount of Michael Jackson then some hip hop and a mix of oldies. I was definitely feeling it. The music made my hip roll even better then I thought. The instructor is very good with people and makes you feel very welcome. I didn't feel awkward at all. The prices aren't bad either. It's 5 dollar to rent gloves if you don't have em, which I understand. Parking is great and the place is really clean. read more

A fun and supportive place to work out. I've been attending classes since SBM Group Fit first opened up and have been so pleased with the experiences. I've met some great people and got into much better shape, plus my confidence has grown. I particularly like the Ignite Boxing classes with Ilissa. They offer a good range of different and fun classes. I have tried Ignite Boxing, Ignite Boxing Express and Ignite Kickboxing, TRX Strong, TRX Yoga and Pilates Mat. My favorite must be the Ignite classes. The instructors, Ilissa and Jeremy, is dedicated and a true inspiration. It`s a killer workout that includes both strength and cardio. And it`s the best stress relief. I`m currently 6 months pregnant and with some modifications I`m still able to participate. read more

All of their instructors are also veteran personal trainers so you get a lot or personal one on one time to make sure you are getting the most out of your workout! They also offer programs to work directly with their personal trainers right next door at their SBM Fitness Personal Training Studio. The location is in the heart of downtown Menlo and there is ample parking in the area. SBM GroupFit also hosts free community classes on weekends, so if you are looking to try out a class look out for their updates! I've been searching YELP weekly for a HIIT class since March 2017 in Palo Alto. Most of the trainers I contacted who taught HIIT classes in the area were completely booked. When this one popped up on YELP but didn't have any reviews, I was skeptical. I signed up for 1 classes....no harm in trying a class for at an introductory rate. The class was great! First off, they have two separate bathrooms to change, provide water and towels, and there is plenty of street parking. I used to take HIIT classes religiously for years but hadn't got back into a routine after my pregnancy. Sean, the class instructor, showed up to class early, asked me a little about myself, asked about an injuries he should be concerned about, what my taste was in music....all prior to class. Once class started, he went through all the motions (explaining both verbally and visually showing you proper technique). By the time class had ended, I was sore, drenched in sweat, and happy. I've now taken classes for two weeks. I'm now down 5 lbs (lets not kid ourselves....diet plays a big part!). Sean has had the same demeanor throughout every class. I've also noticed Sean does a great job of pushing those who can do more (giving them heavier weights, pushing them to get more sets in, etc.) and those that are struggling he helps them mentally through it (whether they want to give up or they just need to modify a little and work their way up). For someone just getting back into fitness after not working out for two years....I know what I think I should be able to do is not what I'm doing which can be frustrating mentally. They had a special going on for Mother's Day so I signed up for another 10 days. Remember, you'll never regret a workout! Thought I'd post something because I almost passed this place up because I didn't see any yelp reviews! For those thinking to try out classes, ask for Sean! read more
