I cannot recommend SC Barns highly enough. This past February we unexpectedly adopted some pet cattle, but had nowhere for them to live. All our fencing was falling down and the poor things were stuck out in the one of the worst Winter storms to hit CA in 20 years, up to their knees in mud. We didn't just need a simple cow shed and some patching up here and there. We needed a whole new pasture and alley system, specialized grading and drainage work, custom gates, deer fencing around the garden...even an above ground pool deck and custom pool ramp for our senior dog. It's turned into a huge project with a lot of complex components requiring plenty of creative problem solving. Because I often don't know exactly how I want things until I see it, I also requested a few change orders. Each step of the way, Michaela and Josh have made it clear they are always happy to go the extra mile to get everything right. Mario, Chris and crew put in long hours, sometimes in pouring rain and hot weather. They were always patient, and always arrived each day with a smile. The quality of their work is high. The pasture system is working great. Our cattle love their shed. Our dog loves the pool. Everyone is safe and sound with solid fencing. The property looks fantastic. We were told by Ryan, and I quote " I have plenty of projects. I don't need to do your project, and I don't want to do your project. I will not change my mind. " Sadly, we can't bring our horses home until we have a hay barn. As a result, this news was devastating not only to us, but to all in our community who have donated to our Go Fund Me to help finance this project, and also to those who depend on our services. The lack of humanity in Ryan's response to our nonprofit's needs in our moment of great need is appalling. Ryan you may be successful in business but your inability to be responsive to the needs of our community, when it doesn't meet your needs is exactly what our community doesn't need. SC Barns had product I needed and I sent an employee with a check to pick it up. When it arrived at the site the product was below standard quality and I wasn't pleased. After explaining this on the phone to manager Rachel, the resolution was as excellent as it could have been. Even though I had picked up the product and did not pay for delivery, SC Barns delivery driver came to my house with a check for the full amount I had paid and picked the order up. I though that was great service. Then it got better. Rachel looked around and found the product I needed at a competitor. Then she called me to tell me where I could get it. Pretty disappointing to receive such unprofessional customer service by Michala. Never have I experienced something like this. I am more upset about how the situation was handled than the actual problem. I ordered siding and roofing worth of $3000 in the color charcoal. When delivered it was not the color that I had ordered. I assumed I would be getting the color as requested as I have ordered my windows in that color too with no problem. After mentioning the problem with the color to Rachel who was really nice, I was redirected to Michala. I was then notified that the company doesn't actually produce the color that I wanted and received a gray instead. See picture below. Any person you ask will tell you that that is not a charcoal color as we know it. I was disappointed that this was not disclosed to me before purchasing it and asked for a solution. She offered to order a black which is not what I want so I asked if the material could be painted and if I could receive a partial refund to cover the cost of painting it. After that Michala totally exploded on me. She does not think their employees should be trained and know the color for the products that they sell. Which as a manager does not look good for a company that you are representing. She also told me that I should have told them how important the color was, I mean excuse me I am spending $3000 on siding and you have the audacity to say that it is not important? She continued to attack me saying that she had told me in the beginning that they have some samples at their location but since I live almost 2 hours away I requested a catalog and she did not care to send me a color chart with it. It is just great to get informed about these things after the whole order is already complete... Do yourself a favor and find a different place with a manager who values their costumers and values the correct training of their employees. I wish I would have seen their reviews before. read more

I was ready to spend some $$$$ on an easy project. I was transferred to Jeff, and I was barely able to get two words in before he started with we don't do that and we don't want to travel to do work and excuse after excuse after excuse. I needed four stall fronts swapped out and sliding barn doors put on the front. I also wanted two 16x8 run in shelters installed. Super easy money for them, but I wasn't even able to explain the project before Jeff said they only work on their own stuff. I asked him what are the before and after photos on their website???? He stammered and couldn't give me an answer, then went on about permits and blah blah blah.....Jeff just cost SC Barns a customer and positive references to other horse owners. Hi All, Back again with an update specifically irt their custom built products. I'll just say I had a really bad experience. They delivered damaged product, which cost me time and money to resolve. I had to project manage the heck out of them to get the replacement product. The kicker was the owner told me that for $3000 he was doing me a favor just making the custom built product for me even though it was a large profit margin for him. That was incredibly annoying. While I'll buy product out of their yard, good products, good prices; I will not contract them for any buildings or other custom built products. I'm really sad because I keep thinking about putting up a covered arena and they are an absolute 'no go' for doing that work in my book. read more

I did purchase a car port and I did arrange the installation that cost me more than the price of the port itself. I did accept it and I did pay half of the price for the installation in advance as they request. After this, I never receive any information or estimated time for the installation. I did call several time to the person in charge leaving messages because she was not available without receive any response. Finally after several attempts I spoke with this person and the response was: We don't schedule any job and we can not give you any estimated time, if we have a break one day, we will call you or if you prefer, we can re-emborce the money of the deposit to you. This year I had 800 feet of horse fencing that needed replacement and they finished the job despite rainy weather, on time. I started going to SC Barns after seeing the gorgeous 8 stall horse & hay barn they built for a friend. I have purchased several structures, stall matting, gates and numerous supplies from them over the last decade or so. They never disappoint on selection, stock, quality, service or price to value. Their products are extremely well made, of high quality materials and last FOREVER, even under a lot of stress from my normally very destructive livestock! Their service really sets them apart. They always go out of their way to help me get exactly what I need. Last time I was there, while loading a small barn in my truck, their yard crew even noticed one of the tires on my truck was low -- and pulled out their compressed air hose and filled the tire back to proper pressure for me ! You'll not find this kind of service or quality anywhere else in the North Bay. SC Barns just finished a three stall barn and tack/feed room for us. They were extremely helpful from the planning of the project to its completion and beyond. They helped us find the ideal spot to build the barn and insisted all through the process on making it practical for the horses and us. I feel that this business should have two employees that are able to approve returns. If they are unable to approve returns when the customer calls they should be able to let them know that it will be a week or two when they call and ask about coming in that day to return items. I'm sure your employee deserved a week vacation but someone should be able to cover for that employee. read more

i was referred to sc barns by someone who has lived in this area for over 30 years, and who knows the value of a dollar. the young woman who works the front counter is friendly and knowledgeable. they have helped me figure out projects, and what i need to finish them. when i bought an animal shelter from them, they were very clear that the price was for the shelter, and that they would set it up for an additional fee. they carry good quality inventory at competitive prices. definitely a thumbs up business. read more

I ordered a large cyclone fence dog kennel from this place. It took two weeks for them to complete the work, and they delivered it a day later than they said it would be ready. When I asked if they would "deliver and set it up" they said they would deliver it, and I need to be there to let their guy in the yard. They never specified that they did not actually set it up, only delivered the pieces. When I got there, taking time off work, there was one guy who asked me to help him unload the fence pieces, in business work clothes. Then left with a hand drawn picture of what it should look like, no directions and where the clamps should be placed and spaced, tools required, how to get it together, etc. I'm not sure how I was supposed to get a 12x6 piece of fencing onto the top of the kennel to form the roof either, being a 5'4" female. When I called to ask why they didn't set it up, they said that cost extra. Thanks for explaining that when I ordered the overpriced kennel in the first place, and letting me know I would be expected to unload it as part of the delivery as well (maybe I would have dressed differently than a business suit!). If you go here, you better be clear about what you want and expect, down to the last detail, because they will not help you out or make it clear what you're getting. read more

We recently purchase paddock fencing for our barn. The wrong height was shipped to us but they claimed that is what I ordered but I know it is not. The clamps that they sent to clamp the panels on to the posts have extremely sharp edges. I have already had 2 horses scrape their sides on them and rip a fly sheet. SC Barns claim that is the clamp they have used for years and have never had a problem which I find very difficult to believe. My horses like to rub against the fence and it has caused the scrapes.Their solution to the clamps is to put duck tape on my brand new fencing. Also the gates at the end of the corrals had sloppy welding. None of the gates were even along the bottom. A big disappointment. read more

We called around to a couple places to do a combination of repairing and replacing fencing on our 5 acre ranch and not only were the employees at SC Barns knowledgeable, responsive and friendly but their prices were better than the other quotes we got! From the first phone call, to the initial visit to give me an estimate, to the work crew that came out and Ryan's oversight, insight and management of the project ... everything went better than smoothly ... it was exceptional! Because I was both new to the area and to having some of the types of animals we planned to have on the property I really valued Ryan's willingness to advise me on a number of fronts. They did everything they said they would and were even able to squeeze the project into their already very busy schedule to accommodate the arrival of my baby goats! Every person I interacted with at SC barns I felt comfortable with, helped by, listened to ... their customer service is exemplary! When you make a big investment like this you want to feel confident with the people you hire - I felt completely confident with them before they even began the work and anyone who knows fencing who has been on our property since has asked who did the work ... because they were so impressed! A very dear friend of mine recently spent over $20,000 and while the quality of the barn was a little better than average it certaintly wasn't a great value for the money spent. At the time of delivery she was told she was misquoted the delivery charges rather than Sonoma County Livestock absorbing the difference they refused to deliver the barn unless they received $600 then after they extorted the additional amount and it was paid they then insisted that my friend hire some independent labors to unload the barn. Please be aware of the bait and switch. There are a lot of competitors that would love to provide a viable and fair quote that perform at least or better than Sonoma Live Stock. read more
