If you care about aesthetics and want a custom floral arrangement that actually reflects what you ordered, do NOT go to Scarsella's Florist. For a once-in-a-lifetime event stay away- I trusted them to deliver what we agreed on. They give you blah blah blah when you're there and when you pick it up it's not what you ordered! I had a full consultation for my daughter's Communion and carefully selected a soft pink-and-white palette with the designer. We specifically discussed the flowers I wanted, the overall vibe, and the flowers I absolutely did NOT want. I made it crystal clear: NO hydrangeas. Mostly roses!! When I arrived at the venue, not a single flower we selected was there. A completely different tablescape- I couldn't believe it. Instead, I was given a bunch of yellow and gold flowers - basically whatever was left sitting in their HOT refrigerator. The arrangement completely clashed with the entire tablescape and decor I had planned around the pink-and-white aesthetic. And yes -- despite specifically requesting no hydrangeas -- they were included too. The corsage look like it was a throwback from the 1980s. They charged $100 for that too. This place is magical... you walk in and are greeted by amazing scents (flowers, candles, etc). The space is beautiful- with a greenhouse to explore in the back. The flower arrangements are ingenious. You basically tell them your price point and any preferences (color? flower type?) and they design the most beautiful bouquets. My experience with Scarsella had been a headache for nearly the entire experience. From booking, everything was fine, however, Phillip requested I reach out to him in March of '24 to do samples. When I reached out it took nearly 2 months for him to get back to me. I called and texted and would get a response 20% of the time, he'd say "tomorrow I'll get back to you", and he wouldn't. I finally got through after saying I was concerned and instead of apologizing he was arguing with me about how busy he is - meanwhile I'm an international corporate event planner, and I wasn't too busy to make time for him, which always happened to be in the middle of the work day. We did our final meeting (for 2 hours) I felt confident that he would get the job done correctly, I was wrong. List of things done incorrectly : My FIL wasn't given a boutonnière My bridesmaids bouquets were wrong. My 4 sisters were meant to have plussed up bouquets, they didn't. My bouquet was smaller than the sample size. The aisle was done incorrectly. The men's boutonnière were meant to be on cards to stick in their pockets, they were pinned on. He added vases at the end of the aisle, which I said I didn't want. He didn't even deliver my personals, I didn't see him once the entire day. We had a mirror with messaging, 2x large clamshell pots in which florals were placed in. When all was said and done - these 3 items went missing. It took us nearly 2 months, and 3 people reaching out to Phillip and his team to finally learn that they had these items. I only received 1 text message back from Phillip for the 6 that I sent him. I finally lost my patience when I called the shop and asked them to look in the back right that moment after they went on an on about how busy they are - because apparently they're the only people on the planet earth that are working & busy. FINALLY they located our items. It's worth noting these items valued $600. I firmly believe if we didnt force them to pay attention to us they would have kept these items. My husband went to pick them up the next day - the messaging had been removed from our mirror. This indicates to me that he either used it in another wedding or planned to. He asked the shop to tell Philip to call him immediately. He did not. My husband finally grew impatient after a week and called him. Philip didn't apologize, instead he made excuses "there was water in the van, the wrapping took it off" both of us work in events, and we both know that wouldn't remove the messaging. Then he said "most people don't care to have the messaging on it still", which isn't his decision to make. He then was trying to manipulate the situation and tell my husband "your wife wasn't smiling the whole morning of your wedding, I saw one of her bridesmaids tell her to smile before she walked down the aisle. I was standing in front of her and she didn't even acknowledge me. Neither of you came to find me to say hello" Who tells a newly married man that his wife wasn't smiling on the day of their wedding. This couldn't have been further from the truth. H&MU and my coordinator told me I was the chillest bride they had ever met and I had a smile on my face the entire day. Also, he never delivered our personals so when would I have seen him? The officiant before the ceremony even said "your florist is such a miserable man". He tried to take my happiness away from me post wedding and talk horribly about me to my new husband. Absolutely disgusting behavior: I honestly wouldn't have bothered posting a review if he didn't treat us so horribly after the wedding, because despite his false proclamations, it was the happiest day of my life and I didn't care that he did virtually everything wrong. read more

I've been going to this florist for all my flower needs since 2001. I don't need a florist so often, but when I do, they are quite impressive! They went off the proverbial beaten track and made me a flower garland that was very fragrant and opulent for a very important occasion and they exceeded expectations (in 2001). I will never forget that! More recently,in April, I had to prepare floral arrangements for some elderly visitors from overseas. Again they made some great floral arrangements! The photo should manifest below. They also sell a tasty brand of granola that I can't locate anywhere else. The entire store is quite an experience to behold. I highly, highly recommend them. I have been using this florist for years for my family in NY - birthdays, mothers day, condolences, you name it. Every time (over the phone) I literally just give them my budget and tell them "just something pretty" and they put together the most beautiful arrangements!! The flowers are always gorgeous, fresh, and long lasting. The staff are always professional and very customer-service oriented. I live 3000 miles away and I have them programmed in my phone because they are my favorite florist in Long Island. This last time I sent family flowers for mothers day and they had to leave them on the doorstep, so they left them behind a column in the shade so they wouldn't wilt and also called their phone number and left them the nicest message. I contracted with Carolyn in September for my daughter's wedding and she left in October and Scarsellas failed to inform me. When I called in early March no explanation or apology for failing to notify me. I then received a phone call from Philip and it was all about him, how he meets all his clients, etc. Never met him and neither did my daughter or fiancé. I asked for my deposit back and wrote letters, emails, etc. will never recommend them for any type of event. read more

Scarsella's was the florist for my wedding on June 11th and they were remarkable. My mother coordinated everything with them and they were not only willing to work within her budget, but created a beautiful atmosphere for our wedding. Our centerpieces were the most beautiful I had ever seen and different from the typical wedding centerpieces. There was a horrible storm expected to take place during our ceremony and cocktail hour, which were supposed to be outside, and after setting up everything inside, the team from Scarsella's worked incredibly hard to move everything outside once the sun came out. The team was sweating and running around, and the result was more beautiful than I could have asked for. While my friends don't usually comment on floral arrangements, many came up to me at the wedding to say how beautiful the flowers were. My mother worked closely with Carolyn for weeks who designed the most beautiful huppah of trees woven together with white flowers throughout. I cannot say enough how much my mother enjoyed working with Scarsella's, and how much we all appreciated their flexibility, patience, and most of all, kindness, to make our wedding day exactly what I had hoped it would be - and more. They are pretty awful to deal with and the prices do not warrant the paltry arrangements. I would not recommend. I didn't even deal with them directly yet ultimately I ended up having to work with them. There are so many other talented florists who do excellent work who are straightforward to deal with. we decided not to go with scarsella's after a very bizarre initial consultation. the positives...very lovely shop and they seem to have beautiful flowers...they also devoted a lot of time and attention to us during our consultation. however, carolyn did not really listen to us or understand our vision for our wedding, and shot down many of our suggestions. she continued to try to convince us of "her" vision, even when were expressing that we didn't like it...very pushy with her point of view...at one point, after i stated several times that i really did not like the concept she was explaining/showing me, she stated, "you may not see it now, but believe me, you'll love it the day of your wedding"...she also gave us a price quote that was double what we said our budget was...and she didn't seem willing to work with us on that either, and told us that she "wouldn't be able to bring her vision to light" on a lower budget. i felt very uncomfortable and confused after meeting with carolyn, and definitely did not feel comfortable moving forward in working with her. read more
