Valet service was quick and we saw him hustling all night. Everything else was extremely slow. We were seated at 6:30 and it took about 10 minutes to order drinks, and longer still for food. Our appetizer came out an hour later, at 7:23, and our entrees finally arrived at 8:10. We heard our server explaining to another table that the kitchen was slow, but we were also slow to get water and drink refills. There was only one server for the entire upstairs back room, and the room alternated between freezing and hot. I noted on the reservation questionnaire that we were there to celebrate a birthday, but it was never mentioned. The food was fine, but not good enough for us to endure this experience again.

I ate about a third of it and told the waitress that it was too salty - it was still on the bill! We had to wave down other wait staff to get our waitresses attention for refills on our drinks, etc. The restaurant did not appear to be busy. I've always had fond memories of the original Atria's in Mt. Lebanon--it was a family favorite before I moved to California. My mom now lives in Canonsburg, and I visit twice a year. When I was here in January, I had an outstanding short rib special, so I was excited to return and even recommended it to a friend I was spending the day with. I ordered one of Atria's signature dishes, the slow-roasted pot roast, and it was one of the worst restaurant meals I've had in a long time. The meat was so tough I could barely cut it. It was clearly overcooked, while the carrots were so undercooked they were hard. The potatoes were fine, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. I also had a cup of wedding soup that tasted good, but it was served only lukewarm. I didn't want to complain because I was catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, and I was starving after only having a yogurt that morning. I tried to eat it, but it was simply inedible. I finally sent it back and asked if I could order a Reuben instead--another signature dish I've always enjoyed--but unfortunately they were out of it. Instead, I ordered a side of green beans. Ironically, my friend's green beans came out looking charred, while mine were cooked and seasoned well. Then, when my replacement was brought out, my utensils had already been taken away, and I had to flag down another waitress just to get a fork. The whole evening just felt off. Our waitress was very sweet, and she told me the manager had comped my pot roast. Honestly, that was the least they could do--it wasn't just disappointing, it was inedible. I'm glad they removed it from the bill, but that doesn't make up for such a poor dining experience. I really wanted to support a longtime local favorite, especially since I've had great meals here before. Sadly, this visit was a huge disappointment.

Filet mignon - 4.5 stars - My husband ordered this filet mignon twice. The chef cooked the first steak as my husband had requested, but the second steak was slightly overcooked. Nonetheless, he enjoyed the flavors of the steak and the sides of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans with the right amount of butter and pepper. Chilean sea bass - 3.5 stars - The fish was tender and came with pineapple fried rice and Asian slaw. Other important information: The dress code appears to be smart-casual. My husband and I, as well as many other customers, wore jeans. The restaurant charges a convenience fee for using credit cards. The grilled mahi sandwich was cooked so well and was so juicy it was dripping on the plate. In the best way. It was fishy but didn't taste as if I put the ocean in my mouth. Not pictured is the chicken quesadilla my friend ordered. She never finishes a meal but could not help to do so today. Street corn is to die for. Amazing. No notes. Great meal. Plenty of parking but you do share with Hallmark and a few other stores. Handicap is available. Lot is fairly level and there is access on the sidewalk. She was very knowledgeable and patient (we asked a lot of questions). She was also very friendly, genuinely friendly, not forced friendly because she had to be. You can always tell. It felt like being at an old friend's house for dinner. Great service truly (imo) enhances the meal. I'd definitely want Amy for our server the next time we visit!

Granted it may be a Pittsburgh thing to bring bottles of beer without glasses and I get that - and we should have requested a glass when ordering it perhaps - but when we did ask, it should have arrived maybe just a few minutes later. She did surprise us later with birthday ice cream so overall she was excellent. Second, the food quality does not justify the high price. We paid about $360 for four people (2 alcoholic drinks, 3 non-alcoholic). Some items were great: the made to order pasta, the prime rib, and the biscuits and gravy to name a few. Others were just meh. The Caesar salad (as others have mentioned) had soggy croutons and was slimy and warm. The pierogi and some of the other food at the breakfast buffet was dry. I liked the salmon (both the smoked and the baked) and the sausage, but too many other things were forgettable. I think people come here for the ambience - it's a beautiful building and we sat facing the river - but it's really a one-shot experience where the "wow" factor of the scenery doesn't seem to extend to the food.
