worst experience ever. the inspector Gabriel ogobomon is a thief. He has charged emission on my car twice in one-month. my emission failed the first and, told me to come back after driving the car for another 100 miles for a free emission. when i came back for a second emission, he charged me again because my free inspection was expired just by a few days. even though i told to stop the emission at the beginning, he went ahead and did it anyway and called the police on me when i declined the payment. read more

Griped about the type of car (Toyota), snide remarks about not getting near his equipment (I was in front of car on other side of driver door) and threw credit card receipt over door at me. !!!WOMEN BEWARE!!! I don't know the name of the employee but I witnessed a man (white with a sunburn) being wildly inappropriate to a young woman getting her emissions checked today. I noticed her seeming uncomfortable so I rolled down my window, even though it was raining, to listen and I heard this man BARK at her. Actually bark like a dog at this girl. She did nothing. Just stared at him. He got louder and louder and was being very aggressive. I was a few cars back and could hear everything he was saying. That's how loud he was. He did not seem to be a stable human being. Another person in line opened their door (and it was raining!!!) to witness this. Thankfully no one was behind me. So I backed up and left. I didn't want to get harassed. Or worse. Because anger has a tendency to escalate. I've been bringing my car here for a few years and I've always been happy. However, more recently it's totally gone downhill. During hours it says they're open, you'll pull in and no one will be there. No sign on the door or anything. The hours online currently say they're open 11-5 on Sundays. As I FINALLY finish with my title transfer of my car from Florida to Georgia (oops, hope I'm not being illegal), the time came to complete an emissions test. I literally know zip about this car stuff, so I just went to the one right down the street from my apartment complex. Good thing Yelp had this place coming up as 4.5 stars, which gave me a sigh of relief. This emissions office is located on the same plot of land as the Shell gas station on the corner of Cotillion and Chamblee Dunwoody. There are constant advertisements for $12.99 certified emissions testing all the time on the side of the road. However, this price seems to fluctuate all the time, and I was surprised when she told me my fee of $11.99. I was the only person in line on a Monday morning around 9:15am, and I had parked in a spot at the gas station and walked up to her little office separate from the Shell convenience store. She told me to pull my car around. I left the car running and she ran a few tests on the car while I waited around. The whole process maybe took 5-10 minutes. A convenient spot and a cheap way to get my emissions test taken care of! read more

I really like this place and regularly recommend it. But this year I'm at a loss. I had emissions test done a week before my birthday. Sadly for the first time ever I had a fail. Luckily my mechanic is nearby and I had him take a look at it and fix the issue. The inspector told me to give it a day or two and dried before retesting. Two days from the day I had to test it would've been Christmas. I came back the day after Christmas and every day up until after my birthday, the 30th and there was no one ever there. I'm disappointed that I have to pay someone else for another test because I had no reason to think at this location would be closed. Especially with the sign always out front. Nor notice of being close five days after Christmas. It sucks having a birthday at the end of the year. I'm in adult and I realize I could've had this done earlier. But I've never had an issue before. Just disappointed. 01-02-19 update: So I learned that the owner of that location recently passed away and they are shortstaffed. Things happen and it's understandable. Re-test has been completed all is well! read more

Like others have said, service is quick and easy...IF you can catch them. The hours online and on the door say they are open Sunday. Went by on Sunday three times - morning, late afternoon, and evening and no one was there. Went Monday around noon and a guy was there. He was nice, wore a mask and it took maybe 10 minutes. Sounds like this place has gone through a few changes and here's what I've confirmed when I came back to this emissions stop the last few weekends: 1) They don't consistently stick to their posted hours. I stopped by at 9:30am on a Saturday a few weekends ago and it seemed like Ashley was struggling with the machine. Therefore a long and delayed wait. 2) Long time and inattentive: Ashley was talking on the phone/headset the entire time she helped me. 2) Poor customer service. We came back later and Ashley was extremely rude saying that she was going on break and wouldn't even try to add just one more car. I get it: she's worked long hours and deserve a break and this will just continue as more cars drive up. See a common theme here? If you see Ashley, just leave. However, if you see Anthony, he's awesome. As soon as the machine is running on one car, he'll go to the next car to find out what year/mileage is like. He's also attentive and KNOWS how much of a pain Ashley is. He says he's there 95% of the time. I still come back here because it's 11.99 for a test which is still more than 50% half off most places that charge $25. read more

Women should not go here. You will be harassed by the attendant. Your personal space will be invaded because the attendant will get nearly into your lap as he runs his tests, and if you don't laugh at his gross jokes or answer his intrusive questions, you will be yelled at and cussed out. I pulled up wearing a mask and the attendant said, "I've had both of my shots, and I've been house trained," and then started barking at me like he was a dog. I said, "okay." But I didn't laugh, and I kept my mask on. I don't think that a grown man barking like a dog at a woman is a funny joke. He asked me what my birthday was, and I thought it was information he needed for the emissions test. But really he just wanted to tell me that his birthday is also in July, and have a conversation about how we were both Cancers. Again I just said, "okay," and went back to scrolling on my phone. I am literally just a woman trying to run errands get things done in my to do list, but he was clearly upset that I didn't want to talk to him about astrology, so he mumbled "oh, you're just not having it today," and went inside his office. A few minutes later I thought I heard him say, "turn it on." He was still inside his office and looking at the TV. So I asked, "did you say turn it on?" He had been muttering under his breath before that, so I genuinely was just checking if he was talking to me. He yelled at me like I was stupid, "yes turn it on!" I said, "okay, I just couldn't hear you and I didn't know if you were talking to me because you were looking at the TV." I turned my car on as he was saying, " You're the one I'm hooked up to, so who else would I be talking to!?" I just kept trying to say, "okay I just couldn't hear you." But every time I would start, he would interrupt me yelling "I said turn it on!" I was trying to deescalate the conversation by calmly repeating "I just couldn't hear you," and he screamed, "look if you're not going to turn your car on, you can just leave! I don't have to do this! I don't need your business! There's a place down the road that does emissions testing you can go there!" And he started snatching his machine out of my car. He was yelling at me so much that the person behind me opened their door and said something to him. I said, "it IS on...but okay..." I start to put my car in drive to leave and go to the other emissions place, and he says "oh, so now you're not going to pay?" And I'm like, "you literally just yelled at me to leave, and go to the other emissions place because you weren't going to do this." And he said, "yeah next year." Literally save yourself the trouble of dealing with this dude and just go to the Texaco nearby. It's the same price. This guy was either already drunk at 9:30 AM or he has some serious mental health/anger problems that are not anyone else's responsibility. read more

This is the 4th time I have driven to this emissions place this month, during their posted open hours, and no one is here..YET AGAIN. The car wash guys attached to the same building warned me that the guy comes whenever he want and basically never opens it on time. It is now 30 minutes after their posted open time and still no one. 3 other cars have waited and given up. If you aren't going to ever open when you say you are, adjust your hours! And there are 2 giant signs saying tips are greatly appreciated... And I drove to the next closest testing company and their machine is broken. Was in line for 30 minutes and all of the sudden everyone leaves and I see that he decided to take a lunch break with no warning. There were only 3 cars in front of me when I got there so I should have been gone before he even left but the fact that he didn't tell the people that had already been line or even put a cone up behind his last desired customer is garbage. Well. This could not have been much easier. I live off Ashford Dunwoody, one exit away. I searched emissions near Goldbergs because it was Saturday, I needed a bagel AND emissions done. What luck! It's actually $12.99 now, but there was no line at about noon on Saturday. I just pulled up, got out... the tech checked my VIN number and my miles I think, and then plugged something in underneath my steering wheel. She turned the car on, turned the car off and then said you're all set. I paid her with a credit card and I asked how fast it would be in the system. She said right at that moment that it was in the system, so seeing as it was a month after my birthday I decided to go home and pay this silly thing. read more

You can't beat the price, can you? (No really, I have no idea. It was my first time ever doing this.) My car is small and efficient, and a Honda, so I passed effortlessly. The place is small, but the service was fast. I was in and out within minutes. Less than 5, I'd say, and that was WITH wait time. PROS: Price was incredibly reasonable, at 12.99. VERY fast service. There were two cars ahead of me, so I pulled in and was pulling forward in no time. It looked like he had 2 car readers, so we was able to do two at once for even more efficiency. Located right next to the highway. CONS: Set kind of out of the way, in the BACK of a Shell (I think?) gas station. I drove by the first time, because I was expecting a bigger place. THE VERDICT: This is probably where I'll go next year. It took longer to get there than to actually get the emissions done. The gentleman was polite and courteous, and understanding to my confusion when I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. (Easy breezy, simply pull the vehicle forward, then leave once done.) Definitely a tiny place, almost hole-in-the-wall. I can't help but admire the dude. By the time I left, there was a line of 6 cars behind me. He's making something like $77 for just 15 minutes of work, and doing it by himself in an efficient manner. Seems like a very lucrative job to have. read more

Five cars were in line when I pulled in, which somewhat surprised me, as I arrived around 10:30 am on a weekday. I guess the others were just as startled as I was, since we all thought we were clever to go before lunch on a workday. Anyway, five isn't too bad, though the car right in front of me lost its patience and the driver took off, reducing my wait time by a few minutes. I was just chilling out, listening to some music and spacing out so by the time I pulled up to the door on the side of the Shell gas station car wash, it didn't feel like I wait too long. I stepped out of the car and felt the Georgian heat and humidity. The woman working the register came out and hooked up my car. After about 2-3 minutes, she gave me the paper that said my car passed the emissions test. I paid her with cash because of my scare with the now-closed Emission Express located diagonally across from Scenic Emissions (that place was in the news because of credit card fraud) and was off. Painless experience and at $12 a pop, you cannot go wrong. read more

I used the service on Oct 21 2015 after being referred by Yelp and I had no issues, the testing was done and the receipt printed and given to me within about 5 minutes , this was a lot better turn around than the last place I went to. The tester was friendly, polite and professional. You should note that they are now open from 8:30 AM , apparently they changed the hours but the yelp page has not been updated. Also at $11.99 they will get my business next year as well. read more

so long story short, my usual emissions place (which was $10) closed due to fraudulent activities. funny thing is.. it was on the same road as "scenic emissions". but anyways, I was on the lookout for another cheap location in the OTP area. this was the only one under $15. scenic emissions is found right next to the shell gas station off the 285 ramp & chamblee-dunwoody road. it's a small, sketchy, white building. you can't go inside since that's their office. all you do is pull up to the sign that reads "enter here" and you park there until an associate comes to your car. simple, easy, fast, and cheap. takes less than 5 minutes and only costs $13 :) can't say customer service is the best but hey, at least you're not paying $20 or $25! read more

I showed up at around 8 a.m. on a Wednesday. The hours are supposed to be 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. I sat and waited until 9 a.m. and no one showed up. Considering some of the other reviews here, it seems that they show up whenever they want to and do not honor any specific business hours. They close early. I got here at 5:50 coming in traffic after work and they wouldn't serve me even though they are open until 6. It would be nice if they could revise their hours so that you don't drive all the way over here during rush hour for nothing. The closing time should state the time they stop receiving customers. As an alternative, they could start receiving customers earlier than the opening time. Somehow I doubt they are as zealous about opening early as they are about closing early. read more

Wow, this place SUCKSSSS. I go here for the cheap emissions but they are never open when they say they are. Their lunch breaks are at unpredictable and odd hours. You can arrive at 2pm and they are on a random 1.5 hour break or they've decided to close early (or heck, probably didn't even open at all for the day). Ended up going to emissions express a block away which was CHEAPER and actually had someone there to do the emissions test. I'm done gambling with this place, just a waste of time. read more

The technician I had was blowing through people, two at a time, and my wait for 5 cars was minimal. I was completely floored by how fast and efficient this place was.
