Told them i was going to pick up car on Saturday no problem, I show up in an uber and no one is there the place is open but no one there I try to get my keys and come back but do not see them on desk .stayed there for an hour no-one showed up .I took another uber to my house to get the other keys and uber back again back while im walking to my car some guy comes out (his son I think ) I asked where he was ? upstairs sleeping ????????,Left the garage wide open ,Ac service they said It would be 2700$I had requested an estimate and after that decided not to let them do it .I had them just check the connections on the undercarriage for steering and see if anything is loose it seemed like it was misaligned . Instead of doing that he sent it out and got it aligned when I already had a lifetime alightment with another shop $ .I did not ask for that but charged me anyways .I brought it to a different place and they fixed the AC of $1400 with warranty for compressor that's all it needed. Good lord for the sake of your families safety don't take your car there. The owner will complain and complain about his workers not showing as to why they could not get your service done (iow, high staff turnover thus dangerous repair work with unqualified people). To get in touch with them you have to drive over there because they take the phone off the hook !!! I took my cars there many times back in the day but now they are just awful and should not be in business and taking advantage of people. Somehow, I guess since the BBB is just overloaded, they get away with it. So my vehicle was towed to the shop second week in August give or take a day or two. After they diagnosed the issue the decision was made that I would not be repairing it and so I paid them what I owed which was just a diagnostic fee. I then posted the vehicle for sale online. I went back to the shop two times after that to gather things out of the vehicle each time having conversations with the service manager. The vehicle was not in running condition so it took 4/5wks to sale. I go to meet the gentleman who was going to purchase it so that he can load it on his trailer and my car is gone. The shop had it towed. The never placed a call to me never a discussion about it needing to be removed off properly. The topic was never breached. They knew I my intent was not to abandon the car. So now I have to pay a tow fee and storage fees equaling $275. Their parking lot was empty except for three cars. They didn't need the room. My mind is blown this is how they reason to proceed with this. Just pick the phone up!!! They pick it up when it's time to get paid so I'm puzzled why they couldn't pick it up this time. **Update as of 9/18/23** So since it was Sunday when I discovered my car had been towed. I had to wait till today(Monday) to speak to someone. I wanted to speak face to face with someone so I went in person. So I asked why was my car towed? The response I got was 'Because of the length of time it had been here' my response 'but we spoke about this you knew I wasn't planning on abandoning the car and I was selling it correct' Them:'Yes'. Me: 'where is your policy stating how long a car can be here' Them: 'We don't have one'. Me: 'why didn't somebody call me' Them: 'We did on the 7th' Me: 'let's check my missed calls on my phone' (no missed calls from them) Me: 'did you leave a message'(you would think if it's so important to get a car out of there that you have it towed you leave a message right?) Them: 'I can't remember' Me: 'can you tell me the number you called' Them:'it would be on your invoice' Me: 'let's pull the invoice and see if you have the right number' Them: 'Not sure where it is' Me: 'that's odd. So I still don't understand why don't you have it towed' Them: ****As of right now still no offer from Tilly Mill to help pay for anything and the tow bill ended up being $400 and not $275. read more

They do a good job in a timely fashion. They explain what they're doing and what they've done without being condescending or using confusing mechanic lingo. They're fairly priced and take extra effort to give a cost effective solution rather than replacing everything questionable and sticking you with a big bill. I think they have finally nailed down the intermittent problem that has been vexing us. There's a distinct advantage to sticking with one mechanic who knows your car. read more

I took my Lexus in for a "check engine light" repair. The owner determined that the O2 Sensors needed to be replaced. He replaced 3 of the 4 sensors for ~ $1000.00. We picked up the SUV and within 30 miles the light came back on. We returned and Danny further assisted us. As we drove the car, the light came back on and stayed on. We contacted Danny and he advised us to take the car to the Lexus dealer. He forewarned us that the dealer will tell us that the sensors are not OEM. If the parts are truly OEM and not possibly refurbished or reconditioned, why would he warn us? Before the repair warranty was up, we wanted to have the owner check the sensors to make sure they were not defective. He would not help us in any way. I asked him if he would use his code reader and let me know the code and he said no. He was rude and unprofessional. He did not honor the warranty. Please be aware of the unprofessional service you may receive at this auto repair center. The owner's son Tommy is kind, professional and helpful. read more

They are very up straight and explanatory about the problems with your car. They are patient and the price is reasonable. I had them service on my Camry 2006 in 2017: water pump (and all belts) for $500 and rack-and-pinion for $1000. They told me the part is lifetime warranty while the labor part is 1-year. I have not had any issue coming back on the repair so I don't know how good they are when dealing with it. I take off 1 star because it's tremendously hard to schedule with them unless you call them 1-2 week before. They always seem to be busy, and I wish they expand their business to match with the demand. read more

I've been going here for a little over two years, since my husband and I moved to this part of town. My car has been a real problem child in that time. They haven't been able to figure out exactly what's going on with it. Despite that, I'm happy with my experience. I took a van that wasn't running emissions tests (not failing- they were just showing as incomplete) after literally hundreds of miles of regular driving (on street and interstate) in to my regular mechanic. $200 later he told me I need to drive it more. For 4 days I did. I put on another 4-500 miles and made sure to follow the drive cycle test parameters as frequently as possible. I had tried to call Tilly Mill several times and got no response, so I wasn't very hopeful, but I went up there to at least talk with them. I drove up on a Monday first thing in the morning. I briefly explained the situation to Danny and how I needed the fix in by Friday. He sort of brushed off my concern, said he could definitely fix it, and to bring it in Wednesday. I didn't have any other options, so I took it in Wednesday. When I dropped it off, two other people came to get not very urgent repairs. Danny said he didn't have time for them. When one got mad and said they wouldn't come back, he said he was in this business for 30 or 40 years and business has never been bad. At that point I knew I liked him. When I dropped the car off and reiterated my need to have it done by noon on Friday he was still pretty dismissive of me. I tried calling for an update that afternoon and got a busy signal. I tried calling for an update Thursday morning. Same busy signal. I tried calling, faxing, and emailing Thursday afternoon. Busy signal and no response. Friday morning I was driving up there to get an answer and I get a call at ~8am telling me it was done and had the emissions run on it. Essentially, all my anal retentive worrying was for naught. I'm sure he has made mistakes in his years of business, but he had the confidence and straight forward attitude that made it hard not to trust him. Couple that with fair prices and even though they're a half hour away from me on a good day, they're now my go-to mechanic for bigger jobs. read more

This was my very first encounter with Tilly Mill Auto Service. I read the reviews on yelp and decided to bring my Toyota Camry there to check an electrical intermittent problem! If you don't know what it is I'll explain it later but those are usually the hardest to diagnose as it's not happening all the time and there are no computer codes (check engine light ...etc.). You pay for the time and efficiency counts. This was my issue (if anyone is interested). My Camry would lose power while driving (once after about 25 miles while still driving on the road all of a sudden there was no response from the accelerator!). It happened few times after a short drive 5 miles or so. I drive, park for an errand and then the doors would not open with the remote and it would not start, radio would have no power but power windows work! Then after a while it would start and everything works as normal! By the way. The car has a fairly new battery, a new alternator and a new starter. Car was brought to Danny to check it on 8/31/15, early afternoon he called and said: "Your car has been fixed...there was a lose connection, I had to take the fuse box out to find it and fix it." Sure enough, I drove the car for the next 4 days to work (30 miles each way) and did all my errands; no issue, no worries whatsoever. GREAT JOB for diagnosing and fixing my car. NO CHARGES FOR ANY PARTS. Very reasonable labor cost. Only a very capable and HONEST professional could have diagnosed the issue and fixed it this way -in the most efficient manner. This review is for Brake installation service. I got my own parts from Autoanything.com - a full set (front and back) Rotors and Brakes. Before calling Mr. Danny (Owner of Tilly Mill Auto) I called a few other places, apart from the fact that they were not available for a weekend job, and were asking $100 to $150/set for installation. I called on a Friday afternoon and talked to Mr. Danny, and he very welcoming, and told me to come at 10am on Saturday and I will have the service - the price point was much better than any of the centers I had called before. On reaching Tilly Mill, I met Mr. Danny and he took my car in immediately, told his mechanic (by the same name), explained what needs to be done. The service was done perfectly, with care and efficiency - Mr. Danny (the kind mechanic), took my car for a test drive to ensure the brakes have been installed perfectly But the 5 stars ratings for the auto center is just not the great, high quality and affordable work, its also because Mr. Danny runs this place (along with his family) with honesty and respect, I noticed this while I was at his shop..he treats all his customers with the courtesy and respect, he understand how important a vehicle is to a person - for some people its their source of income. I've been bringing my cars here fir a few years now and I love Mr. Danny. He's welcoming, trustworthy and an all around nice guy. If I ever have an issue with the repair he resolves it quickly. They do however fall short of calling customers prior to making repairs. They might need a receptionist or something. I honestly have to say the owner here was really awesome and friendly. I went in to get an emission test done and it was like 7am he didn't tell me to wait or anything he took me right on on other places probably would have told me to wait because they were just opening. The test was $25 which I didn't mind paying because I needed it anyways. From the looks at it this guy gets a lot of business. He was telling me what kind of stuff he does and he went over prices. He made me feel really comfortable and it shows that he really enjoys his job. If I need some major work done to my car I will be going back to see this guy. read more

I only hesitate to give Danny and his team 5 stars because I don't believe any of us are perfect - but he's damm close! :-) A friend's car failed on her while she was visiting and I simply did a search on YELP for a good mechanic. I spoke to Danny when I went in - he told me up front he wouldn't be able to get to her car until the next day (his lot was full of cars!) Came back the next day and her car was sorted out and she hasn't had an issue since. (this took place during the summer) NOTE: it's an 11 yr. old car!! I ended up sending my nephew to Danny when his radiator went out and he sorted him out as well for a fair price. I can't speak highly enough of the way they have taken care of our two cars. They are always friendly and have even discouraged us from getting some things done because it would be an "unnecessary expense." One time, the starter on my car died and someone sold them another faulty starter. They came to our house to try to troubleshoot it, had it towed back and after it was repaired, they drove it back to our house! Now mind you, we live about six blocks away, but still, that is customer service! We are firm believers that once you find a trustworthy mechanic, you stick with them. If you are a woman who doesn't know much about cars and you do not know EXACTLY what you need done to your car then avoid this place at all costs. He WILL take advantage of you. Read Holly's review she is not lying!!! I received good service the first time I brought my car here because I had already taken it to Pep Boys who told me I needed to replace my compressor. Since their prices for parts and labor were higher I ordered my own part online and had it installed here for much less than Pep Boys quoted me. Since I had a good experience the first time when my car overheated last week I had it towed here for a diagnostic even though reading Holly's review made me a little doubtful. When he called me he told me that the head gasket was blown and whole list of other things (radiator, hoses, belts, etc.) that needed to be replaced. He told me that it would run me anywhere from $2500-$2800. I have an 03 honda civic so my car is not even worth that and I was prepared to buy a new car. When I asked him why he could not give me a more specific quote he got very rude with me. I came to understand that a specific quote is not always possible but at the time I needed clarification because any other time I have taken my car for a diagnostic I have been given a very specific list of costs for parts and labor. He basically told me that the only way he could tell me exactly what is wrong with the car and how much it will cost is if he performs the repair. As I tried to understand what he was saying he interrupted me and told me that he would "really rather not even do it." His disrespectful and condescending attitude towards me was enough to make me write this review and never patronize this business again. However, after having my car looked at by an honest mechanic, I am even more disturbed by the way he is operating this business. I paid him $85 for the diagnostic, which was useless since it was so unspecific and had my car towed to Pep Boys. I received a call from Pep Boys today who informed me that my head gasket was NOT blown and that all I needed was my radiator and thermostat replaced (along with related fluids, etc.) and THEIR quote for all parts and labor is about $800. Somehow they were able to give me all of this info without performing the repair which this rude man at tilly mill auto claimed was impossible. In summary, not only does this man have zero customer service skills, he also is taking advantage of his customers. My advice to any woman (or person really) who wishes to utilize this service center is to get your diagnostic done elsewhere and THEN bring your car here for a (possibly) less expensive repair. If you bring your car here without knowing what's wrong with it, be prepared to be ripped off. If he tells you you need something done, it will definitely behoove you to get a second opinion. read more

Well all I can say is it helps to have a family member who has been here for a while, to let you know about an honest reputable shop. I brought my car in for an oil change and for them to look at my brakes. When I go to pick my car up, they had replaced my brakes! UMMM, nobody called me to get approval for that!
