Delicious! And such a fun concept with teas "on tap." We are the newest fans of scented leaf tea house from our campus tour of UofA. We visited the tea house twice a day! My daughter's favorite was the hibiscus tea with strawberry lemonade. My fav was salted caramel latte. This was my first time at The Scented Leaf on University. It was PACKED! I must say, that the employees run like a well oiled machine, despite the increased demand. My order was a hot camomile tea (my go-to order at any tea spot), but looking at their menu I am excited to return and try their various blends, along with their iced drinks. Great ambiance and services. The one who placed my order was very friendly and helpful. It was my first time there and he was giving me details on some of the teas, his likes and dislikes, and even offered to remake my tea if I don't like how it turns out. I love this place. Great place to do homework or play a board game! It usually is packed during school hours with people doing homework but if you can find a table with an outlet you should be good:) I always pre pay for my tea refill but some of my go to's are the iced dirty chai with caramel syrup and almond milk, iced jasmine leaf tea medium sweetness with almond milk, or their iced coffee! Oh also the people who work here are literally the kindest humans on this earth, they are so patient and helpful. The university location has expanded and been renovated to include the square footage from their former next door neighbors (a discount haircut chain - no loss there). It's huge inside now! They've added a couple additional registers, so the line moves quickly even when it gets busy, which is often. There are also many more seats and a small patio to accommodate the volume of business. The teas are fantastic as always, and they're regularly adding new teas and add-ins. My roommate loves all the fruity drinks of the month that you can add all kinds of whimsical things into, including colorful teas and edible glitter. I still love my old favorite teas (coconut lavender, house black, chai, evening in Missoula) but the dark rose and jasmine are becoming mainstays as well. The teas seem to get better every year! If you like tea, or think you might like tea if presented with enough options, come here!! read more

The new extension to this iconic tea shop on university boulevard has only made it more enjoyable! I've been a bit of a regular for about 3 years. This summer they added extra space and extended their menu to serve alcoholic beverages and I'm just that much more in love with Scented Leaf. The vibe is always very chill-from the music playing to the smiles of the employees to the pleasant enjoyment you can see on all the other customers faces-all build the foundation to an incredible, "base a book on this place" atmosphere. Today i ordered my usual black rose (low sweet) and tried the boysenberry sour (6.7%). Since we were dining in they gave me a glass and if you order a hot drink they can give it in an adorable mug if in stock! My friend didn't know what to order so she kind of asked for a surprise me drink, and the employee asked her preferences, making the perfect drink for her liking! Overall amazing The only downside is that they keep their door open and flies are also attracted to the sweet scents of the leaves (pun intended!) during the school year before it got the extension, it was already extremely popular so I'm glad they added the extra seating! read more

Half the time I prepay for my refills, they forgot to mark my drink so I look like an idiot when I go up for my refills. They get so nasty about it even though THEY forget to mark it. I love the tea here and the service. The staff are always great. It's usually busy due to being right next to the university but service is always prompt. If the line is at the door, expect around a 10 minute wait at the most. Once you order, the tea-rista makes it right away. I've also had cold brew packs from here which are super sweet but delicious. I went with a dirty chai latte with dark chocolate almond milk, less sugar, and it was more on the coffee side than chai side, and not very sweet at all. I love their refill system; the second one is $.50 (options from the tap) and the third is free. I got a mix of their pom razz and hibiscus tea for my second drink, regular sugar, and it was very sweet. Service was good, their chocolate brownie was decadent and delicious. I went back up to get a refill of water and after the cashier agreed, another worker turned to him and told him to give me tap water out of the sink rather than the water dispenser and put more ice in my cup because I had already asked for water earlier, AFTER I HAD ORDERED A LARGE TEA! I didn't care about recieving more ice or tap water, but the fact that I was being shamed by an employee for asking for WATER at a TEA PLACE is ridiculous. She returned to her phone to text. I've been going to the scented leaf since it first opened their doors. I use to study here during the last year of my undergrad and graduate program. I've had so many great memories here. This place can be a bit intimidating if you never been, but the staff behind the counter are so friendly and always willing to explain how it works to new people. Sometimes I can't decide what to order so I ask the staff to surprise me and every time they make me something amazing. If I don't like it they will ALWAYS remake it for me. I didn't see the appeal in the tea here. It's a good environment to work, surrounded by students, laptops, bright decors... However, the tea was very bland. I tried mango green tea and fruity fusion mixture, but with both drinks, it kinda tasted like lightly flavored water. If you're into light drinks, then perfect. But I'm more of a strong-tea type of person and personally, this did not satiate that thirst for me. I barely tasted mango and there wasn't even a hint of green tea; the fruit fusion tasted like super diluted gatorade.. Maybe other drinks would have been more strongly flavored, but I would not be back for more. The positive side to this is that if you're staying to do some work, refills are fairly cheap. read more

So many choices! Staff was friendly as I took a bit of time making my decision, and he was very knowledgeable too. I ended up getting a 16 oz special which had (on tap) prickly pear tea and strawberry lemonade; it usually has sugar too but I asked for none of that. The flavor was good, but I'm not sure what prickly pear is usually supposed to taste like. It was a bit on the sweet side and the tea flavor wasn't very strong; it almost tasted like juice but maybe that's how it was supposed to be. My boyfriend and I went in and the person taking our order only took my order. I ordered a special drink they had on display (lady lavender). It's my favorite drink and it was not made correctly. The guy that took our order did not inform me that they were out of the purple topping until after I had said something about it. Once he was done making my drink he realized that my boyfriend was also going to order something as well. We asked what was a drink they recommended and he replied with " i personally don't like any of the drinks we have." It was busy but i would like to still feel welcomed and heard. The Scented Leaf is a fantastic local spot to grab some tea. I tried the Dirty Chai and it was great, flavorful but not too sweet. I was pleasantly surprised by the drink, sometimes Chai can be overwhelmingly sugary but this one wasn't while still being incredibly tasty. Their tea sizes are also pretty generous, their small being the same size as some competitor's medium drinks which was appreciated. They had tables outside for patio seating, hand sanitizer available, and walk up ordering inside with the doors open which was nice during COVID. read more

They don't have any vegan pastries at the moment but they say they're working on the recipes, so they should become available soon. Their Strawberry Seduction white tea is super nice. It has a smooth rich taste. My wife, though, had a very different experience. She ordered white tea with hibiscus and asked to add CBD (they have AM and PM options). It was the first time she ordered this tea with CBD and unfortunately the mix of flavors resulted in something disgustingly grassy that I would assume tasted like maneur. I wish the staff would say anything and warn us against this combination, but when we specifically asked the person at the counter if she would recommend this tea she said she didn't know what it tastes like. Scented Leaf definitely deserves 5 stars!! Today was my first time ever visiting! They have a large number of tea choices on tap! For example, they have the typical Earl Grey, but also have an Earl Grey "Creme" ( cant recall the actual name but similar). I actually had the yerba mate which was good. (I didn't get it in a gourd like traditional). The prickly pear tea is great as well; not too strong of a prickly pear flavor, so it is very tolerable. The employees were nice to us, even gave us recommendations. Since the tea is on tap (if it is iced), you will get it fast. IDK how hot tea is, but yeah. Good place! read more

Scented leaf is a great place in many levels. The staff is extremely helpful in educating you about all the various types, methods and options of tea. You'll see lots of people studying, hanging out and relaxing. I got one of the recommended drinks with mango tea, lemonade and a little sweetener. Really nice on a warm day. They're open late so it's a popular spot to study and with it being so close to campus it's easily accessible from the dorms. If you like tea this is a way better choice than going to Starbucks on university. The prices are reasonable and if you want a more mellow vibe check out their downtown location. read more
