I'm so glad I did! Not only was booking the appointment easy and the person who scheduled it very friendly but I got in the next day. I walked in and was greeted with a big warm smile and shown where to go immediately. I filled out my form it was introduced to the stylist whose name was Mackenzie. She told me that she would also have her Co stylist Savannah helping with her as well. While in there I met at least five other girls and all of them were so personable. I felt like it was just a nice Girls Club and immediately adored all of them. They had me laughing the whole time and talking about interesting things. All of them helped each other out and gave each other advice although every single person's job that I saw including my own turned out amazing! All of their teamwork and positive influence in helping each other out was fantastic to see. Mackenzie went over everything with me and explain what she was doing and even gave me some helpful tips for when I'm at home on things that I asked her about. It took about 5 hours which is about the time that I was expecting but the time flew by so quickly. My hair turned out exactly as I wanted and as her inspiration picture showed. I allowed her to do whatever with my hair in regards to haircut and other things because I told her I trusted her. He made my hair look exactly like I want to do and even give it a fresh cut that actually somehow made my hair look longer. I'm so happy with my haircut and have already thought about planning my next visit with other things to do. The business is located in a shopping plaza with a shared parking lot. One side of the salon was setup for hair services and other side was setup for spa services such as facials. The school trains students to be mail technicians, hair stylist, etc. Upon entry, I was greeted by a front desk employee. She was friendly and helpful. I met Delly after I got checked in. She gave me paperwork to fill out and took me back to get prepared for my facial. Delly was very kind & professional. She did a great job on my facial! It was the best facial that I've ever had. When I arrived, the receptionist was in older black woman with salt and pepper box braids. I did not get her name. She asked what style I wanted and sent me out to buy hair. Before I left, she explicitly told me that the final choice of style would determine the price and which student would be assigned to me. When I returned, I repeatedly explained that I wanted cornrolls. She kept insisting upon two french braids, and I repeatedly corrected her. Saying No I want corn rolls. Finally, she quoted me a price of $70.00 for cornrose and handed me off to Ambrosia, to perform the services. I showed Ambrosia a picture of how I wanted my hair braided. When it came time to pay at the register, the same receptionist initially, typed in $70.00 then bumped the price to $111.00. When I ask why the price had suddenly changed $41.00. She falsely claimed that I asked for an updo or French braid which styles that I did not agree to. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the instructor had left for the day. In a young man came down and represented himself as management. Instead of listening to the price discrepancy that I was complaining about, he continually overtalked me and told me I had corn rolls. Completely dismissing me because I got cornrolls. To quote one price up front, and then at checkout arbitrarily up the price by $41 plus tip at checkout without explanation and refusing to listen is completely unacceptable. I will never return and cannot ever recommend this business based on this bait and switch pricing and dismissive customer service.

Leading up to the appointment I checked in with her asking for an estimate on how long my appointment would take. She responded with a time estimate and I responded back. That was our last interaction over text before my appointment. Fast forward to the day of my appointment I arrive and am being checked in by a front desk lady who asked for my name and who I was there to see. She was confused and told me that my name was not on the list for today. I told her who I booked with and that I confirmed this date with her around a month ago and even checked in with her this past week regarding the time it would take to get my hair done at my upcoming appointment. Then the front desk lady says that she was told (by someone idk who) that I called and canceled my appointment yesterday. I was then confused myself and told her that I had been planning to come today and didn't cancel with anyone. At this point in the conversation the stylist who was supposed to do my hair finally acknowledged me and came over to ask for my name. I told her my name and after about 30 seconds of her looking at her phone she said that "she mis scheduled me". I told her that I might be able to work around it and asked for when she put me down for. Ultimately the date she put me down for on her calendar was not going to work for me and neither her or the front desk lady offered to set up another appointment time with me. They were apologetic but also kind of dismissive about it. Im just left confused as to how the front desk lady said I called and cancelled my appointment but then the student who was supposed to do my hair said she mis scheduled me. Those two things don't align. Anyways. To anyone booking directly with a student at Alexander Paul, I would probably call the salon after booking through text message with your stylist to prevent any confusion and double check that you are in fact in their system for the date you have an appointment with them.

The only drawback is that the stylists graduate and then move on, so you will never know from one time to the next who will be there.
