I used to be embarrassed to take my chihuahua Freddy to a vet because he growled and screamed at the slightest touch by a vet. Freddy absolutely fell in love with Dr. Matt. It felt insulting considering I am very particular about my (11yr old lab/Aussie) baby girl's diet. I was happy that they took my concern seriously and the vet was able to take a biopsy of the 2 concerning tumors. However, getting the shots and biopsies and medicine was unnecessarily traumatic for my little girl. I told them several times that she is well trained and will do what I ask, but they refused to let me help as they wrestled and forced my dog to be held by them refusing to let me hold her. My dog does NOT like to be pinned down and was squirming and panicking when a simple command and being held by her mom would have been far more effective. The vet just kept saying, "now you're being ridiculous" when I could see my dog was freaking out by the strange people jerking her leash and treating her like some wild beast. She is a well trained, obedient senior dog. There is no need to be so aggressive with her. And to not even allow me to hold her... I just had to sit and watch my dog be wrestled by strange people. I am grateful that they tested her and gave her the shots. But in 11 years, she has never been handled with such aggressiveness.

With no space at all in the waiting room, a very hyper pup along with other animals everywhere, I've sat outside multiple times for 30-45mins PAST my appointment time & today was the last time. I watched multiple people that walked in 15-20 mins after me, get called before me. When I questioned this, the reception girl very rudely tells me it's going to be an additional 15 min wait, with no apology or explanation. A full 50 mins after my appointment time & I decide to leave without service. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Creepy vets These are just a few gd reasons why we travel so far. Our Darby Darling: We lost our paw princess Sat., 7am on 4/24/21 as she quietly fell asleep in death over nite. Windermere Vet #10: We went to our 10th Windermere vet 3 miles fm our hm. We decided to engage the Windermere vet, during the pandemic, for just such an emerg. Their Sat. hrs. were 8am-1230pm but it was dark bet. 8am-10am. We saw 6 cars at the annex bld, knocked on the glassdoor, a male waved for us to wait, turned sideways, cont. on his call, not mindful enough to call another staffer, & we waited til 10am. They kept us waiting fm 8am-10am. We were the only customer car in the lot & all lites were off. We finally called Countryside, left, & took the hr. drive down the 429 to I4. Countryside: We wiped our well groomed little girl, dressed her in her lovely yellow floral dress, laid her on her fuchsia ladybug blanket, rolled her yellow blankie under her head, & placed her in her cozy bed. I kept asking for the vet because this is not how it goes. My poor baby suffered so bad for the last 10 minutes of her life. When he came back in with the vet my poor suffering baby tried to get under my husband's legs but all she could do was move her head but he came over and pinned her head to the floor while the vet came in and killed her. My poor baby suffered so badly the last 10 minutes of her life because this guy who calls himself a nurse tortured her. He tortured her. He had his hands around her throat as he was pinning her head down. She was tortured to death instead of peacefully leaving this earth. If you want your pet last minutes of life to be tortured go there. The guy who thinks he is a nurse at a vet specializes in torturing your pet.

She, and Deland Animal Hospital, was referred to me by my parents, who were referred by neighbors. I can't stress enough the personal concern and utmost care and respect extended to me by not only Dr. Deb, but the techs with whom I've interacted and office staff, especially Sherry. Kali, a 16-year-old rescue from Hurricane Katrina is thriving and enjoys playing with her brother, approximately 4 years old, rescued after being dumped in our apartment condo.
