This guy shouldn't even be a lawyer. I am reporting him to the bar association due to his incompetence. I hired him for my divorce case back in March of 2019. It wasn't a difficult divorce although he has made it to be like he was divorcing a high profile royal couple. I had my first meeting with him and when I walked into his office I noticed that he had case file folders stacked every where! His desk had a mountain of papers and folders stacked as well. He fumbled around and finally found a legal pad and started asking questions. I figured he was moving offices or something so I didn't really think much of it. After reviewing my case he said it would be around $3000 for my case. It was $1,000 more than what the other lawyers had told me. I was under the old adage that you get what you pay for so I hired him. I wanted my divorce to go as smoothly as possible and have a bull dog in my corner! After that meeting and after I paid the $1500 retainer for him to file the petition he went to work. I didn't hear from him for almost 4 months and I had to contact him in order to find out what was going on. He called me back and he asked a lot of the same questions he asked me at our initial meeting. I had to bring him up to speed on things he should have had in his notes. He said he would file for an initial hearing, which he should have done already but I needed to pay the remainder of the balance which was $2000. So now I'm up to $3500. The whole time I've had to call, email, text and send smoke signals for him to even respond back to me. I was always met with excuse after excuse! We finally had our initial hearing 15 months after I filed. I met him at his office 20 minutes before the hearing because it was a virtual court hearing due to covid. Guess what? He took out a fresh legal pad and asked me the same questions again! You know, ones he should have in one of his 2 other legal pads! Well the judge granted me the divorce and ordered Sean to file the final paperwork no longer that 30 days after the hearing which was May 12, 2020. 30 days later we had another court hearing to solidify my final request, which had nothing to do with him filing the final decree and yep, you guessed it, he asked me some of the same questions, AGAIN! Well August rolled around and I was furious because I still had not received my divorce papers. After numerous emails, text messages and phone calls i was able to talk to his new assistant who told me that Sean would have the final paperwork to me in my email box by COB the next day! I was shocked because there was communication. Well the next day I received an email stating they were sorry because they had technical difficulties and could not send the final paperwork that day but promised they would have it by the next day! Well the weekend arrived and no email! I called on that Friday with no response. I waited until Tuesday of the following week and after numerous emails, text messages and phone calls that he did not respond to I finally threatened him with reporting him to the bar! Well what do you know, he responded that day! Of course he apologized because he was sick and with covid going on things were crazy. He then proceeded to tell me that he HAD LOST MY CASE FILE! He said he didnt want to tell me and that's what the "technical difficulty" was! He then asked me if I remember what the judge had said! He said I had to be exact because he has to put in the final decree exactly what the judge had said! Come to find out he ignored the court order for him to file this within 30 days of May 12 and we're at the end of August. I told him to get the transcript from the clerk and he didn't want to because I'm sure he didnt want to raise the awareness of his incompetence to the judge. So he said his assistant was going to work overtime in order to get my decree done that day and he would have it to me to review and sign if there were no mistakes. I received the email and OMG! The dates were not correct, addresses were wrong, he stated I didn't show up to court on one of our court dates and so on! I told him this and he said he wasn't surprised because he didn't proof read it! He corrected it, and resent it and I told him file it!. I was so pissed I just wanted it filed so I could have my divorce! He then brought up that I owed him more money and I needed to settle it up BEFORE he filed it! According to him I owed him another $2500 - $3000! I told him I wasn't paying him another dime until I had my divorce papers in hand and to send me an itemized bill so I could go through it and we could discuss it when I was in town. That was the last I heard from him over a month ago! Last I talked to his assistant he said the ball was in my court and they needed payment! What a sad, disappointment of a lawyer! Now I have to start all over again with a new lawyer! Unbelievable! read more

Incompetent excuse for an attorney. I would recommend anyone that considers this 'professional' to look elsewhere. My parents wasted a small fortune to hear: him speak in circles, make unnecessary phone calls, break promises, and do nothing useful. read more
