Prices were quite high, unfortunately, and for now we don't need to replace thankfully, so we'll be waiting on that. They did come out per appt and the tech provided the info we requested although all the options were very high, so we doubt we'll be purchasing a new system from them or employing their services. I had a heat pump fail to turn on it was 103' day unfortunately, it was a Sunday, I called the on call tech. Tony returned my call and was on site in under 2-hours. He replaced a fan run capacitor and had my A/C back on in no time. The part had failed after being replaced in April it was under warranty and there was no charge. Called Schiller out to preform preventative maintenance on my rooftop unit. Jason did well beyond my expectations as always. Very knowledgeable and doesn't beat around the bush when there is something that needs attention. He got my condensation line fixed, coils cleaned out, thermostat wire changed, sealed the chute feeding the house, and cleaned the unit up very nicely! I've had Schiller A/C once before to fix a leak on my A/C Hvac unit. The problem was taken care of. I was pleased with the work and pricing. I thought I had a leak again ( which turned out true) and I called Schiller to confirm and take care of it. Here is my complaint. Knowing I had a prior leak this tech ( as every other would do for the last 30 years) First on the check list is the air handler ! Especially when they're aware of a leak. They may take a visual look at your outdoor A/C unit for obvious reasons but then it's straight to the Air Handler. He went to his truck , I thought for what he may need. I finished a phone call and wondered where is he? He's in my yard , The metal screen is removed, it sits atop your A/C unit and he's waived a hand wand over the pipes inside. I'm testing for leaks he tells me. For a leak, this is not your starting point, unless you know something and have reason. My family, friends, neighbors, other A/C businesses and a trusted intel maintainance chief and my experience with four homes told me something wasn't right. When I received my bill, there it was , an Unnecessary charge of $350.00 for checking A/C fan unit ( outside, on the ground, taking the top off, waive a wand ,I thought of when you're at the airport or concert ,similar and quick) I was reminded that day that some techs are honest, forthright while others are willing to pad the bill. Don't be taken advantage of , We trust them to be knowledgeable and honest and most are ! Whether it's Car , appliances or A/C we depend on their ethics because we just don't know until it's over. A piece on my mom's a/c motor burned out causing a small fire, resulting in a bad burning smell and smoke coming through the vents. To be honest, I do not know if the price was great or not, but I suspect it was mid range and that was good enough for me. My air climbed from (set) 74 to 84 in a couple of hours today. Things were not going to get better on their own. I yelped help and Schiller had a tech at my house 30 mins later and cool air flowing 10 more mins after that (high today was 108). I think it may have been emergency / after hours pricing but I needed a capacitor and the whole thing cost me $250. I'm happy. read more

Wow. What great service. I called Schiller Heating and Cooling to fix an issue with my AC unit not cooling consistently. My initial call was answered enthusiastically. The person on the phone (sorry I don't remember her name) was knowledgeable and asked thoughtful and intelligent questions about my issue. it was great to hear someone who truly wanted to understand the issue and help me get it resolved. She quickly arranged an appointment for today. And, followed up with a phone call prior the the tech Brandon arriving punctually. How refreshing. Brandon was thorough in his analysis. My parents AC stopped working so I called Schiller Heating & Cooling. They had someone out there within 15 minutes. It was just the battery that needed replacing and the filter. Since my folks are seniors without a car, Schiller picked up a filter for them and replaced that along with the battery. In fact, before I bought my 1955 Tempe house , at my request Schiller Owner Robert Baney inspected its aging, but still operational, heating & cooling system in its late teens. Mr. Baney and his amazing crew of technicians (some family members) babied that old unit & kept it running until I could afford to replace it in 2015. Schiller sold and installed a new Trane AC & gas furnace that cost substantially less than bids from other contractors. As expected, the new Trane resulted in considerably lower APS bills. My system had been sabotaged by an unscrupulous contractor performing a check up and I needed to know with certainty what was wrong. Schiller was recommended to me by my realtor for a rental property in Tempe. My tenants called to say the A/C wasn't cooling. This was mid-June when temps were around 110 degrees. I called three HVAC servicers to be blown off by one, told I was out of their service area by another. Schiller responded the next morning and had a tech on site by the afternoon, even though I knew they were backed up as much as anyone else. A/C unit was diagnosed, repaired and tested within 90 minutes or so of tech's arrival. I just had a wonderful experience with Schiller heating and Cooling. My tenants said that the furnace wasn't working. My rental agent sent another firm out to look at the problem. They said the fix would cost thousands but a new HVAC system would be $6000. I asked Schiller Heating & Cooling to provide an estimate for the repair and for a replacement. I talked to Robert after he had visited the house. He said that the problem was caused by a short in the wiring harness on the outside unit. He re-seated the wires and tested the unit & found that everything was now working fine. He said that I didn't have to replace the unit. I asked him how much I owed him. He said that they don't charge for estimates and I owed him nothing. He simply asked that I keep him in mind when I'm ready to upgrade my system. I told him that I surely will. I had a problem where my outside unit was freezing up. Really hot day. Called several companies and most couldn't come out for at least 24 hours and ALL OF THEM told me it sounded serious and I might be without service until it can be replaced. I live in Tempe and try to use Tempe businesses. Saw Schiller's on Yelp and Angie's List. Called them and explained to Heather my problem. She said it would be the next day but suggested that it might be a dirty filter and gave me a couple of simple instructions and within 2 hours we were back in business! No down time, replacing major components. I arranged for the Spring Tune Up on both units and Brandon and James came out and explained everything in need. $ 200 later they were on there way and I can't tell you how nice it was to have an honest repair company at my home. Fastest service, lowest price, good people I found out I lost air at 4:00 on a Friday in July in Arizona. Not the time you want to be calling an air conditioning place for service. I placed 4 calls (2 recommendations and 2 highly rated on Angie's list) and Schiller's was the only one able to come out same day - they didn't charge overtime even though it was pushing into weekend hours. Robert was extremely fast and helpful. He was able to get my air back up and running for the weekend and make the necessary repairs on Monday. He was patient and thorough in answering my questions (there were lots). He also gave me the exact parts info so I could research prices. I can tell you they came in under (by a lot) from the other quotes and guaranteed their work for a year. Great small company that I would gladly give my business to again and happily refer to all! I woke up to the sound of water slowly dripping from my AC unit, which is located inside a closet in my condo. It was currently dripping at about 1 drop every second. I looked up reviews and saw that Schiller Heating & Cooling was rated exceptionally well in multiple locations. I called them up and they were able to get a tech out within the hour. Unfortunately, that was where the good service ended. A van rolled up with a massive dent on the drivers side. The tech was also questionable looking. Not a great first impression, but I was more than willing to dismiss it since you cant judge books by their covers. As soon as the tech (James) got in my condo, he stops and looks at the items I have displayed in my living room (Pops, some figurines, etc) and asks what are they and if they are valuable. Red flag #1. You do NOT ask questions like that when you are invited into someone's home to perform a repair service! I dismissively tell him they are not, and he tells me about his friend who has valuable things he has displayed at his place. I finally show him the AC unit and how water is dripping all around the top part of it. He says he knows right away what is wrong. After banging on the drain pipe for a bit with his hand, he pulls it apart and tells me to put my hand over one open end of the piping. He then puts his mouth over the other end and blows. A "plunk" sound can be heard inside the coil housing area. "Heard that? That was your drain pan line clogged" He then puts his mouth on the pipe leading to the outside and blows again. Another "plunk". He then cuts the drain pipe and puts a connector on it and says if it ever plugs again, I can disconnect it at the connector he put in and do what he just did. He then turns the AC back on, looks at it for a few seconds and calls it done. The whole time he worked on it was approximately 15 minutes. He didn't open the coil housing to ensure it was cleared out. He didn't wait around to see if it would leak again for at least a few minutes. He filled out his paperwork, took payment of $119 on my credit card and said "Just keep an eye on it, it should be fine" and left. About 45 minutes later, I had a fan blowing on it to help dry the water that had leaked earlier. Of all things, my cat saved me on this one. She started meowing at me in an alarming way and kept running to the AC closet. I thought she was just nervous as to why it was all opened up. I turned off the fan and bent down to tell her it was worked on and is drying up when I hear rapid water drops. I grabbed my flashlight and looked in to see water now dripping at about 4 drops per second in more than one location. It was way worse than before! Water was oozing down the sides and had completely soaked the paper towels I had there. I grabbed a Rubbermaid tote and placed it under the unit to catch the water. Once I had the droplets being captured, I called Schiller back and spoke with Robert. He informs me that they won't be able to come back out until tomorrow. In the short time I had been on the phone with him, the tote had filled approximately 1/4 inch full of water. I tell him this can't wait till tomorrow at this rate. He then gets into an almost crying sounding voice as he says he is down 2 techs today due to them having babies recently. As sorry as I am for their business to be short staffed, that doesn't help the fact I have water actively pouring down through my AC unit and possibly further damaging my walls. I tell him I need to get this resolved and will see if another company can assist. He then offers to send me a refund check which is supposed to go out today. Why they can't perform a void or a reversal on the credit card charge is questionable. Eventually I was able to get George Brazil to come out and they were able to stabilize the dripping enough till I can get the unit replaced. Its a shame such a well reviewed company like Schiller could falter so badly, but they did. Hopefully they can improve from this misstep. I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through what I did. read more

Had another company come to service our American Standard A/C unit. The fan was only working intermittently. They changed out a "burned out " capacitor which apparently had nothing to do with the fan problem. The unit worked for a few hours with no issues and then went back to the fan working intermittently again. Called Schiller the next day. Brandon arrived with in the first 15 minutes of the two hour window they designated for arrival. Brandon quickly diagnosed the cause of the problem He explained what he was going to repair and cost clearly prior to performing the work. Then preformed the work in a timely manner. The charge of parts and service I feel was very reasonable. Brandon and the office personal were very personable. Wish I had called Schiller first. I wasn't happy with what happened. My AC very old Goettll was blowing warm air. I talk to the owner and he said that might be the capacitor. Because the temperatures were above 110 I didn't want to wait for an install I had Schiller do $69 service charge. Well it wasn't the capacitor ( a simple fix) but a motor over $450 plus since the technician couldn't remove the fan blade add $50 for another for the fan blade, total cost almost $600. Since my wife was desperate we decided to go ahead. The AC worked for 2 days going bad on Saturday. I had to call an emergency weekend service tech (at 15% added charge for any service, no charge to come out) from their company who came out and found the wires had got burnt. For a non guaranteed fix that something else wouldn't go wrong (mentioning the capacitor) it would be another $200. To get 2 days of AC functioning it cost us nearly $600. The company said it would apply the cost of the motor less than $500 to installing a new AC which after researching I found their price quote to be on the high side and that deduction didn't mean much. Since I relied on their expertise and on their very good reviews I expected that they would have informed me better but possibly instead they took what they could get and put me on the hook for the money I invested. They are probably a very good company but I felt they could have been better in handling my problem and spending almost $600 for practically no benefit hurts. read more

The new high teck Trane is on the roof! Schiller Air did an amazing job. They were on time, quick. They cleaned their messes. They went above and beyond what most companies will do. He backs his work with a 10 year warranty. This was a big purchase. When the crane lifted it up my stomach turned, oh my... it is expensive. But after I add more insulation this house is going to be easy to cool and heat. My bills are going to drop like a rock. I get a $300 SRP rebate too! Brandon, the technician arrived withing the scheduled time, was very cheerful and after first discussing the problem with him (had an electrical short on our roof-top Trane Heat Pump), was quickly up on the roof diagnosing the problems. He found a burnt relay and a wire shorting to a copper coolant line, and quickly solved both problems within one and a half hours. The cost of repair was very reasonable and saved another $35 using the Angies list repair coupon. My present HVAC company sent 5 tech's on 4 appointments and couldn't solve the problem ! AC quite on a Sunday afternoon, called Schiller. Brandon said he would be out in 30-40 mins. He showed up took the panel off the unit outside saw the problem right away. We had a wire corrode and burn out the capacitor. He rooted around in his van for a few minuets found exactly what he need. He rewired and replaced a few other loose connections. it 109 out today I would have done anything to get the house cool he didn't try to sell me anything our tell me my unit was an old POS (even though it is). What great service from the time I called until my house was cooling again was less then 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon!!! read more
