This place is seriously so cute! I heard they've been opened for just about a year so everything is still relatively spacious. They have long tables but also bar seating. When you come in, it feels sort of warehouse-y with a line of fridges on the side for you to also buy bottles to bring back home. You can order a flight of up to 6 ciders for $12 for the entire flight, or $2 per taster size which is a steal. I filled up my entire flight because there were so many types of ciders to try. My favorites of the night were the Sriracha lime, cold brew (on nitro!), and the chai-der. I wish there was a Schilling out here in San Francisco, but if I ever make my way to Seattle again, I will definitely make sure to stop by here again! read more

Schilling Cider House might be my favorite bar in Seattle so far. The staff was friendly and happy to discuss the menu with me. The menu itself is color coded from dry to sweet, which is very helpful as you learn your palate. I strongly recommend getting a flight. It's $2 per glass, and you can get up to six at a time. Schilling does not sell food, but recommends you bring your own. I wish I had done that. If you're exploring Fremont, it was a great last stop after reading in Gas Works Park, visiting the Fremont Troll, and wandering past Fremont Brewing (have to hit it another time). There are so many amazing ciders on the menu, and they also sell an extensive number of options even outside of their own work. Finally a place where one who hates beer can go to actually enjoy tastings. There's a giant chalkboard of dozens of ciders on tap to try, and each small flight is only $2! Nitro coffee cider!! So good. Any coffee lover should give this smooth cider a try. Cherry cider is decent in flavor as well. The pear cider and peach cider were a bit disappointing though in taste. We leaned towards some of the sweeter ciders, but they're all color coded for your convenience or preference. The place does get packed randomly so waits for table can extend out. 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up since the place has a really nice vibe to it. It's quite small and hidden actually. We had almost missed it when we walked by. There's about 4 community tables or so- might not be ideal for large groups. The interior is nice. The bathrooms are really nice and clean. There's a selection of games near the restrooms. The service was iffy. We weren't greeted or helped for quite a few minutes after we walked to the bar. All of the workers were chill. They weren't very attentive. They were mainly just chatting with each other or watching the football game. It took 10 minutes for the bartender to come around and get us another flight. We ordered a flight of ciders (mostly the sweet ones) and they 5 out of 6 of them tasted really water down- bummer! We tried another flight of ciders and three of them were also water downed. We had the pomegranate, cranberry, ginger, pear, vanilla bean, golden state, gold, and a few others that didn't really stand out. None of them really stood out besides the nitro coldbrew and the pineapple passion. Love the vibe here. Another bartender was friendly and offered some great Seattle travel spots. $12 for a flight is a great deal. It was a fun experience though. read more

I was excited to go my first cidery but was extremely disappointed by the quality & taste of the 11 ciders that I tried: Yes, I only enjoyed one. :( Our party of 3 ordered 2 flights - which honestly were a great deal for the price - and we only liked 1 out of the 12. Btw, it was the pineapple passion! This was A M A Z I N G. The rest of the ciders were extremely disappointing & no, not just because they weren't sweet. The two other guys that I were with even had a hard time drinking the ciders because a lot of them tasted watered down or simply, bland..? I realize that they're trying to run a business but if your customers didn't like 5 out of the 6 that they ordered on a flight - wouldn't you replace at least one or two? Even starbucks will offer to re-make your drink if you don't like this. However, the spot does offer games to play with friends so I guess that was a plus for offering us a place to simply have laughs & giggles. How can you say no to over 30 plus ciders on tap? You can't. Our group of four went here after visiting Fremont Brewing which is right down the street from Schilling. Parking in Fremont is not very easy, so plan accordingly. Cidery's seem to be appearing everywhere these days, so a place to choose from many different ciders seems awesome to me. The space was fairly large, but I can see it filling up pretty quickly in the evenings or on the weekends. They only accept plastic, no cash, which is perfectly fine. With over 30 ciders available to choose from, we opted to split a flight of six. Each flight glass is $2 and you get a few ounces to sample. It is cheaper to just get a glass, but I always enjoy sampling new ciders and figuring out which ones I like or dislike. Service was excellent and friendly and the servers were knowledgeable if you had any questions about any of the ciders on the menu. Additionally, they have growlers to fill and take to go which is convenient and they also sell bombers, six packs, etc to go as well. Wi-Fi is free, so it is definitely a place where you can chill and enjoy a pint of cider. Overall, I would definitely come back here and try to sample more ciders. I don't have too much experience with cider tasting as I do with beer or wine, and it opens up your palate to new flavors. I highly recommend Schilling Cider House. read more

Great spot for cider tasting!! There were so many choices/varieties here. They have everything from dry, to semi dry to sweet to sour cider. For 16 bucks you can taste 6 different ciders which is enough. I got buzz off of this lol. You can bring in your own growler and buy some to go. I LOVE CIDER!!! So happy we stopped here on our seattle trip! I've tried the pineapple passionfruit cider in LA and I absolutely love it, but I didn't know that they had a schillings cider house here as well. Inside is small, and they close early around 11pm. They have large benches for people to hang out at with some games. The cider flight was $2 per cider, or $12 for a flight of 6. They color coded the menu so you can choose between: Sweet, semi-sweet, less sweet, and no sweet. They lady was very helpful in making suggestions of what to choose based off of what we liked. I really liked: -Pineapple passionfruit! So sweet and delicious -Lavender Black Currant: very interesting, you could taste a hint of the lavendar which I've never tried in a cider before! I was never a fan of cider, mostly because I've never had a good one, but that changed last night. Wanted to try something different, since I rarely go to Fremont. I decided to try the cider flight as I'm not familiar with the taste and I didn't want to stick with just one kind and end up not liking it. So I chose 5, I hope I remember all of them. I tried the Passport, Impearial, Apricot, Peach Berry and BlackBerry Pear. They were different and delicious on their own way. The Blackberry Pear has a wine aftertaste to it. But my favorite was the Passport because it reminded me of Hawaii! I'm not totally sold on cider but this is a promising start! read more

Been here 3 times and each time I've had a great experience. With all the breweries in the Ballard/Fremont area, a cider house is a nice compliment. They have a large range of draft and bottle ciders to choose from. Some sweet some dry, some fruity some spicy. They have a little bit of everything. They allow you to bring your own food in and they have a slew of board games you can play while you are there. I rarely go to cider houses because I'm a beer and wine girl, but I enjoyed my experience. I tried their anniversary Pommeau, which reminded me of a sherry. It was strong and thick but I enjoyed it. Great spot in the heart of Fremont with a TON of different cider options. This was a perfect place for me since I am *gasp* not a fan of beer! It is equivalent to most of the breweries around Seattle with a ton of ciders on tap with different flavor enhancements or original dry options. They rotate them regularly and prices are on point! Uhhh, wait. HOW did I forget to write a review for this place?! I went MONTHS ago! Welp, here goes - the best that I can from memory. Schilling Cider is a tiny, humble place. It definitely can accommodate one or two larger groups, but nothing beyond that. I definitely recommend just coming with a friend or two. They have tons of nice wooden tables and comfy stools for you to sit on. We all ended up getting a flight - I believe we got six ciders, and for only $12 a person! Which, in my opinion wasn't bad at all. I'm so sad that I don't remember what ciders I tried, but I can say with confidence that there wasn't ONE that I didn't like. They were all so delicious and they get delivered to you in this lovely flight paddle (is that what they're called?) If they had these on sale, I would've purchased some for sure! Schilling is a little far for me to justify going regularly, but damn, now that I'm writing this review and thinking about cider... I need to make my way up to Fremont soon. read more

Just moved to the Fremont-Wallingford area, and finally got a chance to visit the Schilling Cider House. We came in on a Wednesday afternoon (after 5pm) and it was bustling with people. We got to the front of the counter, and there were just so many choices of cider that my friends and I opted for 2 flights of cider. We tried a total of 12 different ciders, and I had some favorites (although I don't remember any of the names) - the pineapple cider was one of the good ones. I'll definitely be back! I saw on the way out that they have a good amount of board games, but I could see it get annoying with the huge crowd and relatively small place. read more

So many options! I came with some friends to check this place out, and it's definitely a neat place to hang out and enjoy some cider. Not only are there a wide range of drinks to choose from, the prices are very reasonable for what you get. I tried their golden cider, which was tasty. Light and sweet with a bit of crisp. The place is a little small and it can be tricky to find parking. I've only been legal for about two and a half years, so feel free to take my bar reviews with the grain of salt necessary from someone who still hasn't really learned to enjoy beer. That said - wow, do I love this place. I'm generally a fan of cider, but think that most of the drinks I'd tried before discovering this place were too sweet - locally, I've tried Seattle Cider Company (OK but more useful for the weird flavors than the quality), Locust Cider (absolutely disgusting; do not under any circumstances order this), and Incline (their marionberry cider is fairly good but just a twinge too sickly saccharine). Schilling's drinks are amazing in that regard. Their ciders (30 or so on tap!) span the gamut from too-sweet to too-bitter, but there's a ton of drinks in between. Their house-made ciders in particular are incredible. Their Rhubarb Pear is one of the best drinks, alcoholic or otherwise, I've had in my life; their Grapefruit & Chill, while not my thing, is my roommate's favorite drink, alcoholic or otherwise; and most of the things they sell both in growlers and cans are otherworldly. This is perfectly-sweetened, perfectly-spiced cider, with something for everybody who likes the drink. Their tap selections, too, are unparalleled. Their 20ish ciders from outside of the house are hit-or-miss, but the hits are smashes. In particular, I had a Channel Marker cider last time I went whose name I forget but whose taste was unbelievable. It's the best drink I've had in my life, and I cannot wait for it to be put back on tap - thanks to the bar for providing it! Finally, the ambience is also incredible. Noisy but not overwhelmingly loud, it's the perfect place to go with a group for board games or just hanging out. For $12 for a 6-drink flight, it's great as a low-commitment option for people not sure what drink they want, and the variety and versatility of what's on tap means there's something for everyone. Schilling is definitely my favourite cider destination in the city. It's further from home than Capitol Cider, but I consider it worth the (slight) trek and tricky parking. With over 30 taps of cider on offer--including two nitro options--it's easy to see why. The first time I came here was on a Friday night. The place was packed to the rafters, and fortunately it was just two of us--we snagged a couch just in time. We enjoyed some very good, very strong cider, and I knew I'd be back. Last night I went back for the second time. Being a weeknight, there was a good amount of free space, and the bartenders had a lot more time to chat and recommend options. I had a flight of six 3oz pours, with each pour being based on a different fruit. I ended with a pint of Schilling's own oak-aged cider, which has now become my go-to cider here when I decide I'm done with trying all the funky flavours (seriously, there's a Sriracha cider here for heaven's sake).
