Decided to stop by this place in search of quality Thai food and a nice ambiance and it did not disappoint! My friend and I walked in at 9:20 (~40 mins before closing) and got a seat at the bar. They have happy hour from 9pm-close so we ordered the curry from the happy hour menu ($10), kra pao with an egg (~$20), and drinks (lychee martini $9, Thai-Tini $9). Such a great deal!! My favorite thing had to be the yellow curry, it was so creamy and had a nice kick. The kra pao was also very good, we picked spice 2 which was pretty hot but manageable. The battered chicken red curry is one of my top 10 most favorite dishes, ever. Everything about the chicken and the curry is just perfect; the chicken is perfectly fried with a light batter and the curry is super flavorful without being too heavy. And the portions are HUGE. As of this review, I've went twice when I was starving - I barely finished once and had leftovers the other time. The taste and value are insane, my only main concern with the meal is that it's not balanced at all since there's zero vegetables at all but it gets a pass from me. Service is pretty average and it can be really hard to get in. I think both times I got in we went at pretty late hours, that's probably the move if you want to dine in. Vibe - When I walked in, it felt like I was in a nighttime district on the streets of Thailand, eating and drinking whatever they had available. Food - Food-wise, we ordered the Fried Papaya, Crispy Fried Rice, Khao Soi, Tom Yum, and Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice. Gosh, I have to say, I was blown away by the flavors and the portion sizes! Typically, four dishes can serve three people, but I felt like these could have served five. The fried papaya salad was lightly battered with a typical papaya salad dipping sauce featuring a base of fish sauce, green beans, tomatoes, and chilies. It was good. The crispy fried rice was served with lettuce wraps, and OMG, I kid you not when I tell you this is some of the crispiest rice I've ever had. It's hard to find, but when you do, you can't wait to take another bite. I thought the khao soi overall was not bad. I enjoyed that they put the fried noodles on top so that you can mix them into the curry when it's brought out. Went to Kin Len for happy hour on a Thursday evening. I love their Yelp waitlist system in the front entryway- it gives an estimate of wait time and makes it easy to check where you are in line. That said, only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The atmosphere was lively , and the decor is truly unique and vibrant! This is such a cool place, we had to wait for about 30 mins to get table, we walked around the block while we waited. This place stands up to all the hype around it. It's a lively place on a Friday night, with good music and happy hour after 9pm. We got the Thai fried squid with Roe, Kra pao with Chicken, and Garlic Prawns with sticky rice. The standout for me was definitely the battered chicken- crispy outside, tender inside, and a GREAT sauce that my friend was scooping clean off the plate. The only thing that I probably wouldn't get again is the calamari. It wasn't bad, but just wasn't anything to write home about. As for drinks, I got the coconut bonfire and my friends got thai teas and lychee martinis. The coconut bonfire was nice and creamy with the coconut milk, but didn't have the matcha note I was looking for. I would definitely get it again tho! The one thing I wish was different was that none of the food came spicy, nor were we asked if we wanted spice with anything. Granted, I could've asked for it after but I didn't want to bother the staff on such a busy night. I don't eat super spicy usually about 2 or 3 out of 5 but this is more like a 4.5 to me. Beef Hotpot (4/5) This is a really interesting flavor profile to describe but I can't even say anything but almost all the flavors you can imagine. The broth gave a sweet but sour and savory with a hint of sweetness in it. It came with a lot of beef as well as meatballs and your choice of noodles. The hotpot is a larger size that can definitely be shared with people. Prawns with Glass Noodles (3.5/5) I didn't really like this dish too much. I felt like it lacked a bit of flavor even with the additional sauce they provided. It was really dry as well which didn't help with the texture of the glass noodles. I would definitely order something else next time. Rainbow Custard Bread (3.5/5) This was okay it was steamed bread with different custards.
