Perfect. This pretty much sums up my experience at Triangle Spirits. This place really got my attention when the Seattle Times Staff called it the best fried chicken in the Seattle area. I believe that they are right. I ordered the half chicken, Nashville Hot, cornbread, mashed potatoes and gravy and the collard greens. Since it's a bit of a drive for me I wanted to make sure and have enough of everything for a second meal, which it did. The prices are very reasonable, especially Happy Hour. My server was extremely attentive, much better than you would expect from a self proclaimed dive bar. You really cannot go wrong here. read more

I've only been here two times and they were both for Happy Hour. The Happy Hour prices for drinks are pretty darn good. My go-to HH cocktail here is the Vieux Carré, but I like herbal sweet & bitter, so it's right up my alley. Currently there are five HH cocktail options and they are $7... hard to find in Seattle! I've also had the rainier & rye for $9- the rye is great, forgot to ask what kind it is. I've had a few other HH drinks, which were alright, but these stand out the most. As for food, I've only tried the spicy Seattle dog, and I would get it again. The hot dog is cut up & shaped weird (see photo), but it tastes wonderful. I heard the fried chicken is great so I'll try that next time. Also, I was excited to see that they had buckeyes on the menu, but they didn't have any when we visited. Inside is spacious and woodsy, & outside there is an enjoyable patio. Servers are nice and seem happy to be there, which always elevates my experience anywhere. Cool vibe with fun and engaging staff. Unusual assortment of beers on tap and samples are cheerfully provided. Sadly the food did not live up to the hype. Mac snd cheese. I cannot remember the last time i had elbow macaroni. Not bad, but a tad overcooked and the cheese sauce was average, with a neutral flavor. Not overly warm. Fries. Huge portion but sadly barely warm. A good variety of dipping sauces are available. Chicken sliders. This was where the disappointment really hit. We ordered 2 normal amd 2 spicy sandos. Chicken was crispy, but dry and lukewarm. A lone piece of iceberg lettuce was found under the chicken. The spicy version was not overly spicy but had a bit more flavor than the plain version. Found my new favorite spot in Fremont. Love, love, love the vibe inside and they have outdoor seating. The drinks are excellent and the fried chicken is next level. The sides are okay, the cornbread was a little dry (butter was great though), mac and cheese was a little bland, and the fries were very salty but pretty good. A friend and I stopped in for a drink last night and this place was really cute! It is more a divey bar but in aesthetic/styling, not in terms of offerings or cleanliness. It's a tidy place with a full menu and service was great. I had the Moonlight Confessions cocktail, which was really well balanced and well made! The staff here is absolutely fantastic--super fun, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about their spirits and menu. They offered great food suggestions and clearly know their stuff. The bourbon/whiskey selection is impressive, which is always a win for me since I'm from Kentucky.. The vibe is giving dive bar meets old school cool, with classic hip hop playing. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable settling in. I started with the deviled eggs, which were excellent--really well-balanced and perfectly creamy. Definitely worth getting as a starter. I also tried the Kale Caesar at the bartenders recommendation and that was a pleasant surprise. The dressing was light but the high-quality parm and homemade croutons shine through. It's a nice twist on the classic Caesar. For my main, I ordered the 3-piece dark meat chicken and asked if I could do half Nashville hot and half regular--they were happy to accommodate. The regular chicken was solid but could've used more flavor in the breading. I also noticed the chicken was darker than expected with a slight oil taste, which made me think the oil might need changing. The Nashville hot, however, was where this dish really shined. Great flavor with a nice kick that wasn't overly oily, and it had the punch the regular version was missing. If you're ordering chicken here, skip the regular and go straight for the Nashville hot. The house-made ranch dressing was excellent and paired perfectly with it. Triangle is a solid spot for lunch, happy hour, or late-night eats. It's reasonably priced with high-quality ingredients, and you can tell this is a scratch kitchen where food is made with care. While the regular chicken could use more flavor, the Nashville hot version really delivers. I wouldn't necessarily make this a destination spot when visiting Seattle, but if I'm in the area, I'd definitely stop in. And seriously, the staff makes this place--they're wonderful and truly elevate the experience. read more

Believe it or not this is our third visit here and second time in Vancouver. An old pal, Sal, frequents the place quite often. It has the atmosphere of one of the log cabin eateries in Alaska. Always a great time and usually a ball game on. Where we're from you would never order waffles in a bar, here, everyone does. With chicken. Oy Vey! It's delicious. Might be the juicy chicken or the fluffy airy waffles. Sal swears by the spicy chicken sandwich. Although, last time out he had the Fried chicken and loved that. I really like the Triangle burger. It's not all that triangle shaped, the bar is "Triangle" Spirits, so, it's the Triangle burger. Moving on. They have some wonderful Southern dishes and an exceptional whiskey bar. I visited to try the chicken sandwich. First, let's talk about the vibe--it's like a welcoming neighborhood bar. It leans a bit on the divey side, but in a fun way, with dim lighting and a large bar area. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. I wouldn't say they were overly attentive, but that's likely because we came on a Saturday night at 8 p.m., which probably contributed to waiting over 30 minutes for just one sandwich. Again, great people serving, but I wish the wait had been shorter. I ordered the chicken sandwich with Nashville-style sauce--a staff favorite. It had a mild kick of spiciness that paired nicely with the sweet pickles and a thin layer of lettuce. The fried chicken was juicy inside, crisp outside, and served on a good bun--easily in my top three fried chicken sandwiches in Seattle. I also ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail, the "Pony Boy," which was pretty good, especially with its strong ginger notes. This is a new favorite of mines. Been here 3 times so far and can't wait to get back every time. What I like the most about this place is the vibe of it all. It's not divey, but not hipster either which I really appreciate. They also play good classic rock in here, but switch the music to something up-tempo when it becomes evening. I feel that anyone can feel comfortable here. Ok so the food and drink. I was told that this is a whiskey bar, but I'm a tequila girl so I wasn't able to explore their whiskey library. I didn't want any of the happy hour drink options, so I just asked for a margarita and it was damn good. I had too many to admit on here. The main food attraction at Triangle Spirits is their fried chicken, which has been dubbed by some as the best in the city. You can get the chicken as a slider or sandwich, boneless skinless thighs on the happy hour menu (great deal of 10 bucks for 3 pieces and fries), or as a meal (dark or white meat with a side, or half a chicken with 2 sides). I tried the happy hour chicken basket and the dark meat meal. After trying both, I feel that the chicken on the happy hour is better than the meal. The happy hour chicken is boneless, very tender and more flavorful than their chicken on the bone. The secret mix of seasonings is more pronounced on the boneless chicken than it is with the bone in. The bone in chicken was just ok to us and didn't blow us away and it was also ridiculously expensive. I would not pay 35.00 again for what I tasted. The bone in chicken was fried well, but didn't have as much flavor as we were expecting. Also, the mac and cheese was the most disappointing. I suggest skipping that as it's obvious that the cheese is some kind or processed concoction from a box. This is still an awesome bar in Fremont. Stop in for a good time and atmosphere. read more

This has quickly become one of my top 5 spots in all of Seattle. A little unassuming bar in Fremont with a lot going on! The drinks were also so reasonable in pricing which was great and our server was sweet. She did take some time to come around with the check but was able to get us all individual checks which was great. And in its current version, they have elevated both their f & b program with a serious whiskey selection and tasty eats. Their Whiskey Wednesdays is one of the best deals in town where you can get a shot or cocktail of good whiskey for $10 (recently it was Whistle Pig). But their regular prices on higher end spirits like Wellers are among the best in town. It's also Wing Wednesdays so that sweetens the deal. The fried chicken is rightly famous, and they also do a decent poutine. There are a bunch of regulars for good reason, and the bar is a great place to strike up a conversation or kick back solo. We had already eaten, so popped in here for a drink and dessert. Love that they serve buckeyes here! They were okay, not fantastic, but a great price at, like $2.00 for 2 of them. Or maybe it was only $1.00. We loved the ambiance in here, as well. We talked about coming back, then my husband excused himself to go to the bathroom. He came back frazzled, as while he was washing his hands, a cockroach crawled over his foot. I recently made my first visit to Triangle to celebrate my birthday along with 20 or so of my nearest and dearest. I called some weeks ahead to make sure they could accommodate a group our size and emailed the manager with our details so she could reserve the front room for us. There was a bit of a mix-up upon our arrival, probably due to my having to change the date, but the person who ended up being our server for the night (I think her name was Melanie?) took the news in stride, quickly pivoted to get us situated, and took very good care of our party that night. Dim lighting, casual and lively (or maybe that was just us...), cabiny vibe complete with taxidermied animals, plus a list of great sounding cocktails that were just as attractive and tasty as they sounded on paper (or our phone, as the case was). They're also known for their fried chicken which got the thumbs up from our group. They have a Beyond burger for veggie folx and mocktails if you're not in the mood for spirits. Bartender John is an expert at his craft and service, knowing how to connect people, how to make drinks, and anticipate every need. I'd come back just for his company again!
