Good food. Poor service. Tried calling for take out for over 30 minutes, no answer. Drove there to order take out. Entered restaurant and was totally ignored. Finally raised my voice and was told someone would be with me shortly. Elderly lady (front of house) was asked why no one would answer the phone. She stated that they were short a server. Servers don't take orders over the phone, front of house does. No apologies. She then told me she was busy and would get my order in a couple of minutes. After waiting for about 7 minutes she came and took my order. As I watched the lady , she is obviously over her head for organizational skills. Having been in food service industry , I can tell that this is costing the profit margins. read more

Decided to swing in for lunch on a Thursday. Not too busy, updated decor and it is very lovely. We sat inside so I have not seen the patio, but most people were out there so I'm guessing it's nice as well. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food; it's okay. It is better than Olive Garden but still what we come to expect from Ruidoso, okay. I had the lasagna and my husband had the chicken parm. I could tell the sauce was homemade, but the meat was not browned enough so it was missing that extra chef's-kiss flavor. But the sauce was savory and had seasonings, it was just missing that little extra. There were a lot of noodle layers in the lasagna and plenty of sauce and meat but it was extremely light on the ricotta. The chicken parmigiana was one of the smallest portions of chicken parm we've seen. The breading was soggy and slid off the chicken when you cut into it, no crunch at all. The flavor was good, but the size and execution were not great. Also, the Parmesan cheese was not freshly grated, it was pre-shredded. Luckily not the dust you buy from the store in that green container, but not the flavorful freshly grated cheese either. I do want to go back and try a couple different dishes and dessert. They speak highly about their tiramisu but they did not have any for lunch the day we visited. The other baked goods looked great in the case though! This place is still new and I hope they stay around, because this location is wonderful and their staff and ambiance are fantastic and the food has potential! read more

Snagged a reservation on Valentine's Day here, the place is small but intimate with an eclectic dining space. The food is very good, both my wife and I enjoyed it. The service was extremely friendly but not real attentive. No drink menu but I knew that going in. One review indicated they are planning to add that. Wine would pair nice with the top quality food they serve. I will absolutely go back. Well done chef! read more

Cindy and Tom, the lovely proprietors, make you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Our sweet server, Claire, was attentive and checked on us as we enjoyed our salads then meals. She was very personable and attentive. She refilled our glasses and bread tray a couple of times. We felt even more special when we met owner- Cindy. Cindy works the front as hubby-Tom works the kitchen. And does Tom ever know how to cook. Pat had the eggplant Parmesan. It was probably the best we have ever tasted. I had the Linguine Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, bursting in your mouth as you bit into a bite of one. So delicious! The linguine was perfectly al dente. The creamy scampi sauce did not appeal to me. After I squeezed about a full lemon into it it was OK. That's not what I would order when I go back. I very rarely take the time to write a review, but this new gem in Ruidoso is not to be missed! The best food we've had during or two week stay!! Lunch at Roso's today and everything was outstanding...Roso's salad, garlic bread, spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli and lemon chicken were all delicious!! Service was great too! We sat outside on the patio under the trees and the setting was just beautiful in August. Crossing my fingers that they expand their hours to include a few nights for dinner soon. read more

We stopped by for a cold drink and a nosh on a Monday afternoon about 2pm. When we walked in, it smelled heavenly! Italian home-cookin! We opted for the patio overlooking the forest and creek. My husband dragged me here for lunch... the service was spot on- friendly, attentive and cheerful. Food? Delicious. Fair sized portions. Cozy indoor/outdoor dining options. The menu was a big surprise with lots of options, and the prices!!! Yeah - $40 for two entrees and soda pops with refills. No alcohol as of yet... but once you see the dessert menu you won't care. Desserts made in house and they are impressive. Today I saw cannolis, chocolate flourless torte, lemon blueberry pie, chantilly cream cake (looks heavenly) caramel pecan cheesecake and tiramisu. This is authentic Italian home style cooking. Nice size portions. Priced reasonably Service wss so thorough the staff asks what you might need, you don't have to search for staff. The Chef does an excellent job picking his vegetables, eggplant was excellent. Entire' s were excellent. The restaurant was decorated as you might find in Italy. The Tiramisu was prepared properly, not a piece of cake either icing. Pricing was average, they don't nickel & dime charges. Quiet, small open 11:00-4:00 on their open days. read more

Wow! Is this really in Ruidoso?! I am floored by how good this restaurant is and that it is in such a deserving village! My wife and I always judge every Italian restaurant we go to with a sampling of the chicken parm and chicken Alfredo. Alfredo sauce is usually tough to make and many places fall short on this half of our equation. Not here. Delicious, bold, creamy, smoky flavor for the Alfredo and the grilled chicken is tender and juicy. The chicken parm is solid as well! The atmosphere is cozy and this place should be full at all times with customers! The staff is super friendly and it was a pleasure to dine here. What a great little restaurant in Ruidoso, family run and staffed. We were there on our last trip to our place in the Village. Wife, daughter, and 3 picky, sorta, grand kids, 9,12, and 14. Would we all be pleased with the food, the service and the atmosphere ?? We were all more than satisfied with our food and service. We all had something different and shared a taste ...or two. Chicken Alfredo, Lemon Chicken, Shrimp with Linguine....well, several more but I was too busy eating my own entree. And of course Spaghetti and meatballs, which were almost the size of small baseballs, but much more tender. Great, I mean GREAT, food is lovingly made in this place. All the kids were more than satisfied, as were we. Owners came over for a brief chat regarding our satisfaction with our meal. Great people who deserve, and I'm sure they will be, supported by the community. Will be one of our first stops on our next visit in August....next time we hope to enjoy lunch on the patio. read more

This restaurant was absolutely wonderful! The inside is really cute shabby chic! Nathan, our waiter,was attentive and pleasant. The chicken piccata was excellent! Lots of capers, tender chicken and perfect sauce. The mini salad had a delicious lemon-basil vinaigrette. The owner was very friendly and helped us figure out which parts of Ruidoso were flooding so we could make it home safely. Highly recommend this place! read more

Il cinque maggio! Tried Ruidoso's new italian restaurant & Rumordoso got it right! The fresh Italian aroma invites you inside. The friendly servers welcome you. The flavorful tea refreshes you. The eggplant parmesan & lasagna transport you to Italy. The flavorful large portions are amazing. I would not say the eggplant parmesan is your usual breaded eggplant but it's good. Robust bolognese sauce is rich & plentiful. The lasagna is fresh & not stuffed with any fillers like carrots that you sometimes encounter. Even the bread is delicious, soft & lightly seasoned. Cosy atmosphere, cosy food, great service! We really enjoyed our Sunday Brunch on the front porch. The service (Clair) was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. My companion enjoyed her Shrimp alla Rustica and my Shrimp Gnocchi outstanding. Unfortunately, my gnocchi was one of the Fourth of July Weekend holiday specials so I probably won't be available next time we go. But there definitely will be a next time! We did have a little trouble finding them because their ground level sign was partially obscured by a pile of debis. Look for the big "River Rendevous" sign across the street from the city pool. read more

Finally, an excellent Italian restaurant in Ruidoso! Everything that I have ordered has been freshly made and delicious! The veal parm was the best I have ever eaten, the Shrimp Rustica is a wonderful blending of flavors including goat cheese, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes and shrimp, all served over a bed of linguini! The vodka sauce on the chicken vodka is delightful and the bread is sinful! Did I day I enjoyed everything I've ordered? YES! The servers are all friendly and attentive and do not try to rush anyone out of the welcoming atmosphere. We really have waited a long time for a place like Roso's. I hope they continue to be patronized by everyone who comes to town. It's their loss if they don't stop in. Oh, the desserts are freshly made too! read more

I had the shrimp and asparagus which is served with a mild red chili cream sauce. Think of what would happen if a really talented Italian chef comes to love New Mexico chilies. It worked really well. Also had the bruschetta. I have had a dozen bruschettas at many fine restaurants. This one was by far the best. My wife had the Rosos salad--large portions with lots of great flavors. read more
