Great food and prices- Kristy was our waitress and she was lovely to talk to and made it a great day for us

We recently had a rib dinner at Schidtsville. There was very little meat and the bones were covered with a black rubber and slimy substance and the meat tasted terrible. The turnip was white, not yellow and it was water-logged and tasted weird. The cherry pie was purple like blue berries and there were two cherries in a thick and rubbery jelly. The coffee didn't taste at all like coffee and it was luke warm. My plate had a huge chip out of it. What a disgusting excuse for a meal and it wasn't cheap either. read more

Such a beautiful dainty place to eat. There was a queue to wait and I could tell why. The atmosphere was welcoming. The staff were friendly. People waiting we're happy to wait. The food was wonderful. Big portions. I didn't realise the junior breakfast was two separate dishes. The pancake was good nice and fluffy, real maple syrup. The breakfast was filling, I've never had home fries so was a new thing for me - like an open hash brown with the option of fried onion. Amazing! read more

Had a very pleasant lunch there on a mid week winter day. The food is like home cooking, but without extreme flavours or spice. It's a Mennonite town and this spot offers that experience. The house made pies were delicious. Gift shop in the same building had some cute Canadiana as well. Very friendly and relaxed local environment. read more

Stopped by for lunch with some friends after New Years. The first thing I see when I walk in is fresh homemade butter tarts in a display on the counter. Yes, this is the place we shall eat! You enter into a touristy store full of all kinds of things from puzzles to books to toys, jams, sauces seasonal merchandise. It's a great store. When you round the corner you see a big restaurant run by Mennonite people. So friendly and cheerful. Even though there was a line up we got a table pretty quick. There were specials listed on the board before you walk in. We all ordered the small daily special. The price was affordable and the food was delicious. The meat on my ribs melted in my mouth. My baked potato was twice baked. The veggies were just OK. The carrots were a bit rubbery. With the special a homemade dessert is included. This made us very happy girls. I ended up getting the butter tart I've been craving this vacation. It was so good I could have eaten two. The parking lot is located across the street. Would love to come back here again on my next visit. read more

One of the best things about living near the country is having access to places like Schmidtsville. My breakfast today had me wondering why I don't come here more often? For the price of a Rotton Ronnie's breakfast, you get fresh local eggs, fresh made toast (in house baked) fresh homemade Sausage patties, and homefries. The eggs were perfectly runny (I had over easy) toast was crispy edged and fresh, sausage was cooked just right, salty and not too greasy. My only complaint was the home fries came with fried onions, and they weren't quite Cooked and had a spicy taste and hard crunch. They should have been much sweeter and soft had they been fried longer. Overall, great price, great breakfast, and satisfied people. read more

Well I wish I didn't forget to take this pics of the food! Great place for old fashion style breakfast. I have the meat lovers breakfast! Bacon, sausage, and ham! 3eggs hash browns and toast. Everything was good but the hash browns seemed burnt, but was still edible. I added to onions to them also but would hold off on this the next time. Might have been my taste buds but it has a sour taste to it. It also has a nice shop when you walk in. Gifts and baked good that looked very good! read more

Good breakfast. Upgrade to potato wedges with breakfast unless for some strange reason you like shredded potatoes (does anyone?). I recommend the ham with the standard breakfast. The bacon is typically overcooked and the sausage is some strange puck of pork. The problem is when you get away from breakfast the quality drops fast. Club sandwich with deli meat, mains with heated frozen vegetables. Their pie is great though. Has its good points (breakfast - if you order carefully) & nice atmosphere; great points (pie), friendly service; and bad points - frozen veggies and other cheap ingredients which affect the quality of their other dishes. I have eaten there many times. It is too bad as this place could be great if they used better quality food. read more

I was told this restaurant was good. So I dropped in on a friday at 5:30 for dinner. While the dinner wasn't bad I was dissapointed thatafter waiting to be seated for almost 15 mins I wasn't greeted. 3 waitresses went by 14 times or more at not once acknowledged I was there. I was the only one waiting for a seat. They were cleaning tables off but no hello just be a few minutes or anything. I almost left when sommeone finnally czme to seat me. The other thing was I order an open beef sandwich - it wasnt beef gravy and the potatoes mashed were almost runny. Desert was awesome and the perogies to die for. We visited this location today and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. The three of us arrived at about 4:00 pm, the place was not very full. We sat down at our table and the wait staff were prompt and attentive. The menu selection was not overwhelming and yet simple fare was offered. The three of us placed our orders. My spouse and I had the potato and bacon soup which was serviced piping hot and had a fabulous flavour. For our mains, I had the Schmitsville Club, my spouse had the beef served on gluten free bread as she is celiac and my Mom had the pork schnitzel special. We all raved about the quality of the food and the quantity was perfect. The dessert pie selection was one of the most vast we have ever experienced. Great food and value. Highly recommend this eatery to anyone. When we left the patrons were lined up with a wait time of 30 - 40 minutes. read more

I was in for lunch recently and had the cheesy chicken special. The specials can't be beat. They include the meal, drink, and dessert. If you are really hungry you can order the large special for a few bucks more. It wasn't amazingly original. There is nothing new being done here. Its traditional fare, but when you just want a comfort meal, it will hit the spot. The pies are really good. They have a long list of choices and they are made in house. read more

Nice place in a village setting . Food is good at fair prices and service is good too .Their soup is home made and is delicious . Just on the outskirts of Waterloo On . Great place to stop for lunch if you are out exploring Mennonite country . Beautiful country with beautiful scenery all around . The town of Wellesley exudes old world charm as do many of the surrounding villages and towns such as Monkton , Mitchel , Atwood and Listowel . Be careful when driving these country roads for it is not unusual to meet up with Mennonites on their horse drawn buggies . Slow down and give them plenty of space . read more

Excellent breakfast, big portions, good price. Definitely go there again. Line up was a bit long, but we knew that coming.. next time will definitely come earlier. The sausage and home fries were delicious read more
