    Crab cake!

We went for the first time for our anniversary. Very nice atmosphere and the food was delicious. Our waitress (Deb) was most unpleasant. She acted like she was doing us a favor by helping us and was visibly annoyed when I needed more time to decide what I wanted to order. She never asked us how any of our food was and was overall miserable. We would have had an excellent dinner if we would have had a different server. Despite how lovely everything else was we probably won't go back.

This is an appetizer...bratwurst, knockwurst and a pretzel. To me...it's dinner and lunch tomorrow!

Been here so many times...and it's always fabulous. Classic German food with lots of options for sausage or schnitzel. Their pretzels are always fresh and warm. Potato pancakes and smoked salmon delish. And potato dumplings. And spaetzle. The service is always on pointe and cheerful. And set in a traditional modern German style restaurant setting. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit to Schnitzel Haus and it will not be our last. Everything we ordered was delicious!!

This place is fantastic! I finally went to the Schnitzel Haus in Hobe Sound last weekend with the family. OMG it was fantastic. I mentioned to our waitress that while I Loved Jaeger Schnitzel, I haven't had a good Pilzrahm Schnitzel (Mushroom cream sauce) since being stationed in Germany. She says hold on let me get the manager she might agree to make that for you. So she comes out and agrees to "try" and OMG she hit it out of the park. Then she says, well if you want dessert, I also make Sphaghetti Ice even though we don't actually have it own the menu. When I say it was as good as or better than what I got in Germany I'm not kidding. This place is legit! I was stationed in Germany and know good German food when I see it. The atmosphere was also great since we went for Lunch and things were a little quieter and less hectic. I'm sure that had something to do with the fantastic service we received. Overall this was an excellent experience.

Supposed to be Roladin, but not even close and it was really sweet like someone put a bunch of sugar in it???

Sugar sweet for kids, food weird ? I came here craving real German food and left very confused. There's a bit of nostalgic charm and the service was friendly, but the food was a total miss. I ordered Rouladen and got something that looked--and tasted--nothing like it. I was told it was sauerbraten, which was... generous. Everything was strangely sweet, from the potato salad to the meat, like someone dumped a tablespoon of sugar into every dish. I was told this is "for the locals," and that explains it. This is German-themed food, not German food. Please don't judge German cuisine by this place. Also ended up getting a hamburger asked for it well done. It was so dry. I can't even begin to tell you how my lips curled in. I think this place probably has senior citizen owners who more or less have stepped away from the business and they lit a bunch of people in there who don't got a clue what they're doing. It's sad. It really has potential here.

We went for an early dinner. It's a cute place, welcoming and service was solid. We shared the potato pancakes as an app, there were 3 size able ones. I had the pork schnitzel with the sauce, sides were spaetzel and red cabbage. Husb had the veal schnitzel with the same except the German potato salad. Overall we both said food was bland, the schnitzel was beautifully thin and fried, the sauce with mushrooms was a good add but sadly all bland. The spaetzel was lukewarm and tasted like it was uncovered in refrig, the potato salad had a sweet vibe that seemed like apples. The apple strudel with ice cream and whipped cream was flaky and fresh, the best of the evening. Overall it was okay.

Hubby and I literally live 3 miles from this restaurant and never tried it. Ok, to be fair, he has been wanting to go but I thought it was going to only have really heavy food and a dark dingy atmosphere. This place is elegant, well decorated and has a nice outdoor patio. We arrived around 4:30 as hubby has to work at 9. This turned out to be the best time to come as they had many reservations. Our waitress Lauren was very attentive and sweet. We started with the pretzel and added a side of beer cheese. We didn't need it as the sweet mustard is amazing!! We asked if they sell it as they have a cute display up front but sadly, just the spicy mustard. She came up with a container of the sweet and we took both.. Our meals came out quickly and were super yummy!! Hubby says "I can't believe you made me wait this long to try this place"! Well, who can say no to dessert when they have butterscotch bread pudding and limoncello cake? Not us!!

We had never been here before and honestly won't be back. The atmosphere was really nice and intimate, we didn't have reservations but they were able to squeeze us in which was nice. We started out with salads and I have to say, we both thought it was the best we've had. I and Caesar and my husband had the wedge. I had French Onion Soup which was extremely disappointing. Scooters and Duffy's is much better and everything is more reasonably priced. My husband had the Chicken Pot Pie which he said was just ok but wouldn't get again. We both thought the rolls were average. We aren't big drinkers so we each ordered a soda. Once we ordered, the waitress had a real attitude, probably thinking she wasn't going to get a big tip because it was a smaller ticket, needless to say we didn't see much of her after that, no refills, no deserted, no service. I'd say, save your money and go to one of the many places around here with good food and good service.

Excellent meal as always!! We love this family owed restaurant. The halibut was the best fish dinner I've ever had in my life. It was amazing. The skin was crispy. The crab was plentiful. The white rice has a garlic flavor that is amazing. My husband had the short rib ravioli. The rib meat was so tender. The ravioli was thick, almost dumpling like. We have eaten here a handful of times and every dinner is better than the last. Cannot recommend it enough.

There are no real German restaurants in Palm Beach County so we took the hour drive to Hobe Sound where Schnitzel Haus is. Martin is a less stress county & sitting outside was idyllic. (Inside was very nice, clean, with a beautiful bar area.) We had brought our pup along & our waitress brought out a bowl of water right away! She took our drink and app order also & returned with a basket of rolls for us. They were quite good, warm & crusty! The bottled beer selection is perfect and we had a German beer & a domestic. Prost! The potato pancakes were perfectly cooked. We intended on saving the last one but it was too good to resist! My partner inhaled the pork schnitzel. It was served with a small cup of mushroom gravy, which he loved! I had the beef rouladen & must say, not only was it tender... it was better than the one I've been making at home. Such a wonderful, rich flavor! Everything along with it was truly perfect. We had the bread pudding with caramel for dessert & again, it was divine! Knowing how delicious everything is plus the fact they have a dog menu as well - we will definitely be back!!! Bravo!!!

This is my favorite German restaurant here in the Treasure Coast. The flavors of their Rouladen, Sauerbraten, sides etc are all so delicious. My friend said that the burger was very good and cooked perfectly, as have been the other items that we have had in the last month. The restaurant is clean, the menu is large, everyone is friendly and even the restroom is clean and well equipped. It is a great place to go when you're hungry, as the portions are LARGE, and the desserts are super tasty as well.

Took forever once seated to get food or any type of service. Eventually went to the bar to get a refill of drinks along with others in our crew. The menu is an absolute joke as there is a lot of fill on what they serve you but both my wife I chose the burger as it was the most likely to interpret what I'm ordering. One it came after about an 1 -1 1/2 hours the burger was ok and fry's looked like it was fried in old oil. They were cold and for the money it was not worth it. I think a Macdonald Big Mac would have tasted better at a fraction of the cost. $27 for a burger, cold fries and a small milk shake which I couldn't understand that addition. While sitting at the table I am getting dripped on by the AC duct as that portion is in front of the door opening and with humid air coming in hitting that cold duct it was condensation and dripping on the patrons. In this case me. The server was terrible in my opinion and didn't really cater to many of our needs but the restaurant feels obligated to charge 20% gratuities of 6 people or more. Now I understand that concept as foreign people don't tip like in their country or none at all but that is where the problem is. If a server is good or bad they still are get their tip and in this case there was no incentive for good service. If I am paying $27 for a burger and fries that server better attend to my needs quickly and efficiently. Not sure if I ever will return to this restaurant as it left a bad taste. I usually go by the baseball rule 1 2 3 strikes your out but what brought me over to 3 strikes is the stupid menu and pricing. I think I will make my own dinner at home and bring it to the causeway for a better view and cheaper food and much better food.

For our entrees, I had the seafood platter, my bride had the shrimp scampi. Finally for dessert we shared a slice of the caramel cheesecake. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

A 5pm reservation would make one think, quality service and a fresh hot kitchen! Well something certainly has changed in the last few months because we received neither! After explaining to our server how excited we were to be there for Mother's Day and how it was our parents first visit we placed an order of 3 appetizers (all more bland and less hot than they should be) - keep in mind the restaurant was mostly empty. As we waited for our entrees (an unusually long time) our server didn't check on drinks or water. When 3 of our 4 entrees did come out, we waited for the 4th as manners would expect. Five minutes, 10 minutes, still nothing. When I finally was able to flag down our server there was some excuse about "mixed up tickets" and that a "manager would be right over." 15 more minutes, all were done with their meals as my husband still awaited his entree. No manager, no server. Completely unacceptable. As my sweet husband cut into his filet, completely over cooked and rubbery, was supposed to be medium- he dare not send it back as everyone else was done and he felt terrible. To make matters worse, my father's fish, was loaded with blood line, ruining the flavor of the meat of the snapper. The least they could do was send a manager over. $200 later- (no alcohol) we will definitely never be back and you shouldn't waste your time or money either.
