Had a delicious meal here this evening. Had the Lingonberry porkchop and throughly enjoyed it, also had asparagus as a side and they were cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, professional, our server made us feel very welcome, thank you Sandra. The ambiance is upscale with nice linens and peaceful. My only regret is I didn't try this establishment sooner, wiil definitely return. I highly suggest you give this place a try, you'll be glad you did. read more

Sugar sweet for kids, food weird ? I came here craving real German food and left very confused. There's a bit of nostalgic charm and the service was friendly, but the food was a total miss. I ordered Rouladen and got something that looked--and tasted--nothing like it. I was told it was sauerbraten, which was... generous. Everything was strangely sweet, from the potato salad to the meat, like someone dumped a tablespoon of sugar into every dish. I was told this is "for the locals," and that explains it. This is German-themed food, not German food. Please don't judge German cuisine by this place. Also ended up getting a hamburger asked for it well done. It was so dry. I can't even begin to tell you how my lips curled in. I think this place probably has senior citizen owners who more or less have stepped away from the business and they lit a bunch of people in there who don't got a clue what they're doing. It's sad. Went first time for dinner meeting up with great friends.Actually the priests from our church and another couple.. so it starts things off on a great note foot! Service with Debbie was excellent. Very nice laid back place very large menu. Dinner is not cheap !. But not many German restaurants and my peeps like to try different foods. Two of us had schnitzel with mushroom gray it was good but def needed two gravy I had the pork it's pounded a bit thin for my taste. I've had it in Switzerland and Germany.. it was big so I took half home. Others had barvierian goulash they liked it very much. Been here so many times...and it's always fabulous. Classic German food with lots of options for sausage or schnitzel. Their pretzels are always fresh and warm. Potato pancakes and smoked salmon delish. And potato dumplings. And spaetzle. The service is always on pointe and cheerful. And set in a traditional modern German style restaurant setting. We went for an early dinner. It's a cute place, welcoming and service was solid. We shared the potato pancakes as an app, there were 3 size able ones. I had the pork schnitzel with the sauce, sides were spaetzel and red cabbage. Husb had the veal schnitzel with the same except the German potato salad. Overall we both said food was bland, the schnitzel was beautifully thin and fried, the sauce with mushrooms was a good add but sadly all bland. The spaetzel was lukewarm and tasted like it was uncovered in refrig, the potato salad had a sweet vibe that seemed like apples. Hubby and I literally live 3 miles from this restaurant and never tried it. Ok, to be fair, he has been wanting to go but I thought it was going to only have really heavy food and a dark dingy atmosphere. This place is elegant, well decorated and has a nice outdoor patio. We arrived around 4:30 as hubby has to work at 9. This turned out to be the best time to come as they had many reservations. Our waitress Lauren was very attentive and sweet. We started with the pretzel and added a side of beer cheese. We didn't need it as the sweet mustard is amazing!! We asked if they sell it as they have a cute display up front but sadly, just the spicy mustard. She came up with a container of the sweet and we took both.. Our meals came out quickly and were super yummy!! Hubby says "I can't believe you made me wait this long to try this place"! There are no real German restaurants in Palm Beach County so we took the hour drive to Hobe Sound where Schnitzel Haus is. Martin is a less stress county & sitting outside was idyllic. (Inside was very nice, clean, with a beautiful bar area.) We had brought our pup along & our waitress brought out a bowl of water right away! She took our drink and app order also & returned with a basket of rolls for us. They were quite good, warm & crusty! The bottled beer selection is perfect and we had a German beer & a domestic. Prost! The potato pancakes were perfectly cooked. We intended on saving the last one but it was too good to resist! My partner inhaled the pork schnitzel. It was served with a small cup of mushroom gravy, which he loved! I had the beef rouladen & must say, not only was it tender... it was better than the one I've been making at home. Such a wonderful, rich flavor! Everything along with it was truly perfect. We had the bread pudding with caramel for dessert & again, it was divine! Excellent meal as always!! We love this family owed restaurant. The halibut was the best fish dinner I've ever had in my life. It was amazing. The skin was crispy. The crab was plentiful. The white rice has a garlic flavor that is amazing. My husband had the short rib ravioli. The rib meat was so tender. The ravioli was thick, almost dumpling like. We have eaten here a handful of times and every dinner is better than the last. Cannot recommend it enough. read more

Great restaurant with German food, but also has extensive variety o other food. Place has a nice vibe with very friendly service. As someone who lived in Germany while serving in the Army, I opted for the schnitzel and split with my daughter who ordered the bratwurst combo plate. Both plates were nicely prepared and brought me back to my time in Germany. Others in our group had the halibut. We also shared the apple strudel and loved it. This is my favorite German restaurant here in the Treasure Coast. The flavors of their Rouladen, Sauerbraten, sides etc are all so delicious. My friend said that the burger was very good and cooked perfectly, as have been the other items that we have had in the last month. The restaurant is clean, the menu is large, everyone is friendly and even the restroom is clean and well equipped. It is a great place to go when you're hungry, as the portions are LARGE, and the desserts are super tasty as well. read more

My husband and I came here recently for date night and were blown away. The place is decorated with vintage looking chandeliers. Our server was the sweetest person and was very knowledgeable in regard to the menu which let me tell you, it is big! For drinks my husband had a beer and I had the bees knees cocktail. I you like strong tasting cocktails this is for you! For starters we tried their wieners and the billionaires roll and both were great. Their portions for mains are big also, so we shared the veal schnitzel with mushroom sauce and it was to die for! The meat was very tender and rich in flavor. I cannot recommend this place enough! We had never been here before and honestly won't be back. The atmosphere was really nice and intimate, we didn't have reservations but they were able to squeeze us in which was nice. We started out with salads and I have to say, we both thought it was the best we've had. I and Caesar and my husband had the wedge. I had French Onion Soup which was extremely disappointing. Scooters and Duffy's is much better and everything is more reasonably priced. My husband had the Chicken Pot Pie which he said was just ok but wouldn't get again. We both thought the rolls were average. We aren't big drinkers so we each ordered a soda. Once we ordered, the waitress had a real attitude, probably thinking she wasn't going to get a big tip because it was a smaller ticket, needless to say we didn't see much of her after that, no refills, no deserted, no service. I'd say, save your money and go to one of the many places around here with good food and good service. read more

This place is great, have ordered from this gem a few times and everyone there is super nice. Very careful with covid too as they have temperature checks. Had a nice lunch in Hobe Sound at the Schnitzel Haus. We were greeted and seated by the manager Demi who told us about some menu options and Tap beer offerings. Learned a lot about the dishes that we had not had at our old German restaurant. Walked in to a mini gift area that had chocolates, mustards and other cool gift items. The people were very friendly, the tables had white table cloths and I was impressed with the cleanliness. Nice atmosphere and Demi mentioned the seasonal things they do think Octoberfest. Very pleased with the courteous service and even the cook checked in on our food and Rob the bartender also was helpful. Check out their menu, watch for those seasonal specials on food and beers and don't forget to look over those gift items. You'll see some hard to find imported options with a reasonable price. Schmitzel ' were dry. !!!!!!!the Vesl was not good they pounded the Veal too thin. ( dry ) my wife had the chicken. She could not eat it set it back. Wife refused a reorder. Everything was very good and beat our expectations as we spend a lot of time in Europe and this is as good as if not better! I wish we took more photos, but we thought of it too late, so we only got a photo of the apple strudel. It's baked fresh, so order early. It's is all presented beautifully also. Drove by a month ago and noticed this German Restaurant. Tried it lastnight. Excellent! We came in and were seated immediately. The place is dimly lit but not too much or too little. Perfect! We then looked over the menu. They have quite the selection of German favorites and even biers. I opted for the rouladen. Wow oh wow! It had been a while and I was pleasantly surprised! It was cooked perfectly. My friend opted for the schnitzel and it was HUGE! We ended the meal with the apple strudel. All and all very good! read more

Sat down and was immediately greeted by the bartender, Rob (Bob or Robert he answers to them all) He showed us the menus and told us about how fun some of the drinks were. I am German so I tried the cider. Liked it skit cause it wasn't crazy sweet like dine off then. My hubby got the beer flight. They were all great We ordered our food and was pleasantly surprised, pleasantlysurprised .at how huge the portions were. The place was a lot nicer than I was expecting. It was busy for a Tuesday night dinner. The food had large portions and were very tasty. However, the service was horrible. Our waitress was very snippy and rude. Three peoples food came out 10 minutes later than the initial plates, they had basically finished their food by the time ours came out. We were also given the wrong plate of food when it finally did come out, we said it was fine and that we'd still eat it since we had already waited. Also had to ask for the gravy on top of the schnitzel multiple times before we received it. Food was on the pricey side, but servings were large. Don't think I would go back since the service was so bad. read more

We moved to Palm City 35 years ago from Cleveland Ohio. They have great Hungarian restaurants in the Cleveland area. Trying to duplicate this, we tried several in the area. Then we were recommended to try the Schnitzel Haus. Drove down there, the atmosphere was a 10. Our waitress was a 10. Compared to Cleveland the Schnitzel was equivalent to 3 pieces of paper. This was very upsetting. My wife almost had tears in her eyes. Had I known this, I would have told the waitress charge me more money. I did not feel like eating a plate of breading. I told her eating half, her reply was sorry I only work here. The sides that came with the dinner were a little skimpy. I ordered the potato pancakes they came out a disaster, to us they were frozen hash browns in a pancake form. We were hoping it would be close to back home. I do understand 35 years have past. I am in no way complaining about the price, but the portions are a joke! If you go here more than once you know nothing about Hungarian food. My wife was totally embarrassed.
