Jay and the crew at Schock are second to none! Did a very thorough sea trial and showed me what Grady White boats are all about. The ride on my boat is the best I have ever had!!! I downed sized from a 26' CC and was worried about channel crossings and how a 21' boat would handle it. This little boat handles our local waters better than my 26'! Boat feels like a much larger boat and cuts through chop like a knife. The swim platforms on the stern really make this a great boat at anchor. We go to EBay and other coves often and drop the anchor for a fun day. These swim platforms add extra deck space when on the hook, great place to sit with feet in the water. Also nice for diving, great platform to throw fins, mask and gear on when coming out of the water. Boat is a Swiss Army knife and does just about everything on the water very well. I can't say enough good things about Schock Boats. I moved to an Island in Newport Harbor 2 years ago and was looking at purchasing a nice harbor cruiser for the family which could be both Duffy-like for harbor cruises and a fishing boat for off-shore and good-weather Catalina crossings. I asked all my fellow Newport Harbor friends and neighbors and one name kept coming up: Schock Boats. Upon my first visit, Gary Hess immediately commenced teaching me everything I needed to know about power boats. I took a few weeks to make my decision but he patiently stood by while we asked question after question until ultimately - we pulled the trigger on a 19' boat which met all our needs. It's been 2 years and we've literally used the boat on almost a daily basis in some capacity so we've been back to Schock for regular scheduled service and a couple of issues related to my Mercury outboard and lighting issues. Bottom line - they have been an absolute pleasure to deal with on every occasion. George and Jeff are about as awesome as they come when it comes to service. Having a boat is NOT cheap. They have at every turn tried to take the sting out the boat owning experience. I reside in Chicago but own property in San Diego. As a 60th birthday gift to myself I wanted to purchase a boat to keep in Mission Bay in San Diego. Specifically a Boston Whaler Outrage 250. I was referred to Schock Boats located in Newport Beach. I contacted Schock Boats and my sales person was Gary Hess. Gary worked with me during the whole process making this long distance purchase as easy as possible. In addition to assistance in ordering a new Whaler he and his staff was instrumental is helping me pick out electronics, obtaining financing and insurance coverage. On delivery day Gary organized a sea trial which included Carlos the boat delivery captain for Schock Boats and spent numerous hours going through a complete orientation of my new boat. After years of used boat purchases I finally pulled the trigger on a new boat. The brand (Cutwater) has 1 dealer in SoCal located in Newport Beach. I began working with Jay McCants at Schock Boats several months ago who fielded my questions regarding the C-302 Coupe and he's great on support and boat knowledge including where you need to go to get whatever and who to ask for. He's been in the business a long time and that is what you want as he can field most questions and will go get answers for you if not. They also have a guy named Carlos who is also very knowledgeable on a variety of boats when it comes to operations and systems. I don't think there's anything that guy can't tackle and if you talk to him you'll get that right away. Anyway, we we're looking at a few other boats but kept coming back to the C-302 as it had things we could not find on any other boat in that class. Hence, if you're shopping for a good size, great looking with very very nice features boat that is trailer-able, look no further as I have done the homework for you. I've only had it for 2-months and everywhere we go whether in or out of the water attracts a crowd with me answering questions. You really should look at the Cutwater lineup as their products are very high quality and the attention to detail is phenomenal! Great boat plus working with a dealer that has folks with integrity... how much better can it get.
