I just had to leave these guys a great review. I own a 21 center consul Parker with 2100 hours on my 150 Yamaha. I brought it in for a major Maintnece to the engine and was surprised at the cost being very reasonable. I just did a sea trial and whoa!!!!! I never remember my boat being so fast and tight with killer hole shot! It felt like a new engine! I'm fact I got higher rpms than I've ever had before. The guys at west coast marine know what they are doing and George was a pleasure to deal with. Now I'm ready to kill some fish with our upcoming season. Timely, professional, and true master mechanics at a great value. It is one of those "finds" you don't want others to know about for fear their line will get too long. They regularly service my Yamaha outboard motor, and they do a great job; They make a field call, when they say, at the price they say. BUT, when I had a "dead" motor, they were even better!!! Well is you only need an oil change this is the place to go. Not for repairs, I took my Yamaha 50 needed a valve job adjustment on one cylinder, they said it's to big of a job and that they don't work on carbureted units. Gtfoh. Oh pardon me they replaced the trim motor for 700 dollars. Such bs. I'll never go back to this expensive shit hole ran by some rich trust fund kid. read more

Let me start by saying that Kevin, Chase, Kyle, George and the entire team at West Coast Marine are awesome. I can call Kevin just about anytime and he is always there to answer my call and help with any issues I may have with my 2120. Recently, I had to take my boat in, due to dropping a small shim in to the lower unit housing. As soon as I got there, George was on it and had Chase drop the lower unit, remove the shim and put everything back together in less than an hour. Now that's CUSTOMER SERVICE! Took my Parker here for some work to be done, the "o" ring from prop to engine was leaking oil. Discovered the leak in Avalon, Ca. Luckily my boat has two engines. They were able to take care of the issue at a timely manner and the price was reasonable. This is my go to place even though I live near San Pedro in LA county, I don't mind the drive as long as i know my vessel is in good hands with experienced people. The staff at the office was also very helpful. I will be bringing my other smaller boat for routine maintenance here as well. read more

For boat repair big and small this place is honest and fair, and they do top notch work. I have had my boat now for almost 20 years, I have gone to many places, mechanics, repair facilities, from San Diego to San Pedro, and am so happy that I decided to go with Gonzalo, Nick, Kevin and crew to handle my boats facelift. I am currently in the market looking to buy a boat. The last service on my boat was very expensive and west coast seems to have a we are the only game in town take it or leave it attitude.They must have used my engine covers for a work bench because they were scratched all over. It is a pain to find good boat service and they did fix my boat so I figured I would give them another chance.When I called to make an appointment for a 100 hour service NICK said it would be about 5 weeks before he could get to it, I asked him what was the soonest date he could pull my 29 foot sport fisher out of the water to service my two 250hp Yamaha outboards and he said April 13th.I said if that's the soonest you can get to it put me down for that date and i will have my boat at the launch ramp Monday the 13th. I asked him what time he would be there to pick it up and he said 10:30 am. I called west coast on the 9th to confirm and the guy i spoke with said Nick was not there but he saw that I was on the schedule and would tell Nick I called. I went to allot of trouble to get my boat to the dunes, if you have ever done this you know what I mean,When I called Nick to let him know my boat was ready for pick up he said he could not pick it up today and he never told me he would. I thought he was joking at first but when I realized he was serious I reminded him of our conversation and that I called last week to confirm. His reply was "I don't know what to tell you, I'm not picking up your boat today I have two other boats to deal with" We argued back and forth but the end result was he couldn't even tell me when he could get to me. I strongly recommend taking your boating business elsewhere! They are not the only game in town. read more

I had a Yamaha 2-stroke 200 since Oct 1994. About 15 years ago, it flooded regularly and the original dealer couldn't solve the problem. After three attempts, I tried Gonzalo as a fresh start. I was impressed by his Gold certification with Yamaha. Problem solved. Since then, I used Gonzalo regularly and followed him to West Coast Marine Service. People were amazed that I had made over 200 crossings to Catalina and the engine ran like it was new. That says a lot about Yamaha but says even more about Gonzalo. I go out into the ocean with my kids, I don't mess around. Gonzalo is like a sports-doctor. At 20 years, I decided to repower to a new Yamaha 200XB 4-stroke. Gonzalo got me an incredible price, was very flexible with pickup and delivery, did new throttle, gauges, etc., and my 20 year old Whaler came back like new. Professionally done like a new boat from the factory. If you want it done right, with Gold certification, and a ton of resources backing you up, I would go straight to West Coast Marine for Yamaha parts and service. I can't say enough. read more

This place is just first class. Just bought my first little RIB last summer. It was time to get my Yamaha F40 outboard service along with some work on the tubes. Went to see the inflatable expert shop and they wanted to get me for $1,200 telling me I needed all these things or I would have serious issues. I was concerned but willing to fork over the cash given what I was told. Then I went to West Coast Marine to buy some parts and got a card to call Gonzalo to make a service appointment. I explained over the phone what I needed done along with the things I had been told. Gonzalo was incredibly knowledgeable about my engine and completely honest. Told me what I really needed to get done. At the end of the day I spent $450 to get my boat serviced and the tubes worked on. West Coast Marine Services is a fantastic place. When we purchased our 2000 Grady White in 2005 we searched for a Yamaha certified technician to service the twin 250s. We found Gonzalo, a Five Star Certified Yamaha Technician located in Costa Mesa. Even though our boat is kept in San Pedro we decided to take the Grady to Costa Mesa and have Gonzalo Foguet service the boat. We have never regretted that decision. When Gonzalo relocated to West Coast Marine, where he has teamed up with Nick Kelly, we followed him there. We will never consider having anyone else touch our boat. Nick and Gonzalo at West Coast Marine have given us outstanding service, and not just for our outboards. West Coast Marine does our bottom painting, they have replaced our batteries and upgraded the electrical circuitry, they have replaced our battery charger, steering cables, bilge pumps, you name it. I find Gonzalo and his team to be very fair in pricing and they have provided prompt service. Gonzalo, Nick and his crew do it right the first time.
