My friend Maddie and I volunteered at Connemara Ranch for the past two weeks, and it was one of the…read moremost meaningful and eye opening experiences I have ever had. Talley was incredibly flexible and met us where we were with our horse experience while sharing her wisdom and deep knowledge of equine therapy, something she helped pioneer in Malibu. Every horse at the ranch has such a unique personality and is so clearly loved, cared for, and well trained. Over the two weeks we rode every day, painted and washed the horses, practiced equine therapy activities, and built such special connections with all six horses. Talley made us feel so comfortable from the start and became not only an amazing instructor and teacher, but also a true friend. Every ride was beautiful and completely unique, and I am so grateful for everything we learned about horses, equine therapy, and ourselves during our time at the ranch.

Well, I thought it would go well at this place for my daughter but yet again, another riding school…read morelet down. Erika (the hired trainer) had my daughter do a private evaluation lesson. When it was over she said for my daughter to come again next week for another private evaluation lesson. She said the owner, Michelle, would be there and would watch my daughter and decide which class to put her in. We got there and Michelle was nowhere to be found and two other kids were in my daughters "private evaluation lesson." So, it was a waste of our time and money because there was no evaluation and it wasn't private. Even so, I was hoping this place would work out. Erika was busy when the lesson was over but I texted her right away to see which classes they have available for my daughter. All the text got was a thumbs up. I didn't want to bother her and figured she would text me with class days and times soon. Well, it took her 6 days to text me back. She said to come again for another evaluation lesson the next day. I don't know why a place needs 3 evaluation lessons. We have been to many ranches and one lesson has sufficed. I guess they wanted to make extra money for less time. Erika seems to think we have nothing to do but sit around and wait for her text. I didn't answer her text until the next day and told her she could have texted me sooner as my daughter has a life besides this place. I also asked if she was going to refund some of our money that we are entitled to because my daughter did not have a private evaluation lesson the week before. Erika accidently sent me the text that she was obviously planning to send to Michelle. It said and I quote, "Can I tell her to fuck off please" Wow, really nice. We did nothing wrong here. What a horrible way to do business. If they would have kept things they way they should have been they would have another customer and most likely a leaser or boarder. Instead, this trashy Erika wanted to tell me to fuck off. I honestly don't know what all the good reviews are about. Probably friends of Michelle and Erika's.

I booked about a week in advance and Rose checked in multiple times over the phone/email to make sure we were still good on dates/times and if we had any questions at all that we forgot to ask. She even went as far as sending us pictures of where to park our cars since we don't live in the area and there can be spotty phone service near where the ranch is. Rose literally couldn't have been more helpful! Genevieve was our guide/instructor for the day and was just as above and beyond spectacular. Just like Rose, she was incredibly helpful and informative right from the jump, and even asked my fiancé if she had any preferences on what horse she wanted to ride since it was her birthday! Despite all of this, two other riders that were supposed to be riding with us were giving Genevieve a really hard time about wearing a helmet for the duration of the ride (among other obnoxious remarks). These people were incredibly rude, and had the audacity to act this way even though they showed up late to the ranch for the ride which held the group up. Genevieve handled this interaction as smoothly and professionally as anyone possibly could, and repeatedly went out of her way to apologize to my fiancé and I for any inconvenience that these people caused even though it wasn't her fault at all. Despite all of that, Genevieve remained super sweet, helpful, and informative throughout the entire duration of our ride. She even found some extra time for us at the end of the typical trail and took a whole bunch of awesome pictures for us where there was a really great view. Overall, Genevieve, Rose, and the horses gave my fiancé an absolutely amazing birthday. We had such an amazing time and will definitely be back! Thank you very much!

Our guides were Isabella and Cody. This horseback riding experience was actually a surprise from my boyfriend, so until the very last…read moremoment I had no idea we were going riding. Overall it was a really interesting and memorable experience, especially because of the beautiful nature and the whole atmosphere. The only downsides for me were the trails themselves in some areas they were very narrow, which made me a little nervous at times. Sometimes the horses were walking very close to bushes and plants, and my legs were getting scratched a bit, which was uncomfortable. Also, my saddle was attached unevenly, so I was sitting in a pretty awkward position for more than half of the ride. Eventually the instructor noticed it and explained how to adjust it properly, which definitely helped, but I do wish it had been checked earlier. Other than that though, it was still a very unique experience and I'm glad we did it
