I love supporting bookstores, new or used. This Barnes & Noble will definitely be seeing me soon. They have a wide selection of books from many genres to choose from. While there I discovered their Travel Writing section which I didn't know existed. These are two of my favorite categories to explore. I found a book that I'm excited to dive into. It's been a book on my to be read list for a year now. And, there are many others I'm looking forward to buying soon. Sure I can buy these books online for half the price but if you're interested in supporting the lifespan of bookstores (like me) then you don't mind paying full price. The book I purchased was reasonable for a brand new book that was published just last year. Upon checkout, the bookseller was very helpful getting my daughter signed up with her own membership. To me, they truly value the customers that choose to walk into a bookstore when they know they could easily purchase their books online. read more

Of course I feel instantly happy once I walk in and breath in all the books. All the books nicely displayed and neatly organized and cared for. My kids love the kids section even though they can't read but they sure do know to pretend real well. It almost like a one stop shop here because you can buy toys, dolls, figurines. Always a great place to go to for Harry Potter items. I do love that I have been seeing them step up their game on more spray edges and special editions. They just feel so one of a kind! I would like to see kiosk around the bookstore so that you can find out what genre of the books you are looking for. I know there is an info desk but sometimes I've gonna to far in and don't want to go back. There is also a me problem of telling myself " I'm pretty sure I can find it" When I was in college many moons ago I use to study here and it's such an awesome study vibe. I knocked out a star because there no longer is a Starbucks. Honestly it doesn't have to be a Starbucks....I just loves being able to snack on something and sip on a beverage while looking for books. Plus this location misses out on that $5 book deal when you buy any cafe item. Never had issues with parking it's a shared parking lot but they get the corner of the lot so plenty of parking. The employees are friendly, helpful, and are truly fellow book lovers. read more

Stopped by during the weekend to pick up a few books! This store is very organized, clean, and delightful! The workers at the register are super nice! Bathrooms were clean too, and they had a bunch of items on sale for a great value! We were asked if we needed help twice, and it shows how attentive and thoughtful the workers are here! Fantastic book store in a large shopping center with many other places!! A huge selection of books, gifts, music, etc. staff members are lovely and nice. The store is well kept, clean, and extremely organized. Many places to sit down too to find the perfect book! Couple of weeks ago I came into this location looking for a collectible toy that was exclusive to this chain. Didn't see it anywhere so I asked an employee about its whereabouts and he explained there was a large amount of inventory being processed in the back room. He filled out a form for me, insuring that it would be on hold once it was found. Suggested I call back later in the day. When I called back I was transferred to Sara, I found out she was in charge of the toy section. I explained the situation and she could not have been nicer! She told me that she was still processing boxes but would keep an eye out for the toy and once she opened that box she would call me. True to her word, within an hour she called to let me know it was on hold at the front of the store! Everyone at this location is always so nice and helpful, really excellent customer service!! read more

Went there yesterday to buy a game listed as in stock online. The past couple of days I've wasted my time at other businesses whose website showed they had a product on-shelf but when I went there they didn't. Very frustrating. I couldn't find it on the shelves so I asked for help. Sam assisted me, looking through the back room where it had arrived but hadn't made it to shelves yet. He was unable to find it after searching for some time. I left, again frustrated as I don't have a lot of time to shop. As I was driving out of the parking lot, I could hear someone shouting behind me. It turned out to be Kevin who was helping Sam look for the game. He was coming out of the store waving the game they had found. I parked, went back in & bought it. End of my quest. THAT was some customer service. I ALWAYS have a good experience with the employees shopping at B&N. read more

I bring my kid here almost every week and he will read for 45 mins and will no go. We typically leave with one book or two. I feel joy to walk into the store every time. read more

I like bookstores I do. Something about the feel of bookshelves, books, interesting book covers that the books are not to be judged by, and the ever exciting fascinating places those books can transport you to through your imagination. Which far exceeds what the book cover could ever depict. Book stores are a slowly dying monolith of days of humanity bit by bit blowing away as sand in the wind. But try as they might, the digital powers that be have yet to toppel over Barnes & Noble. Everything from Manga (great manga selection) to Martel .....from Heinlein to Cummings can be discovered within this grandious store. It kind of saddens me to think the way things are going sooner or later physical bookstores of this magnitude will be a thing of the past. Then more and more publishers will go straight to a digital format. As is probably the case already. Future generations may not have the warm nostalgia I and many before me have for books; but I'll enjoy bookstores while they're around. This store has a nice staff and good selection. They also have some B&N exclusive vinyl. I like vinyl. But that'll be a whole different rant then the book one. So let's not go there for now. They stock alot of manga that may interest any one looking for manga. Stuff like My Hero Academia, Gundam: The Origin, Blame, and the list goes on and on. If some one knows a store with a better manga selection please let me know. But as far as I'm concerned B&N has an awesome manga selection. As other reviews have mentioned, this location has a Starbucks connected to it. I haven't been a sbucks fan for years now. But anyway........all in all this Barnes & Noble location is great and has a nice vibe. I drop by here from time to time. read more

I just hate that they had to close down Borders. There is absolutely no where to sit to read a book. I don't play off the hype of Starbucks expensive high calorie drinks. I come here to look at some manga and to find nowhere to sit what in the what type of place is this? Also, the books are pricey too. I'm a huge bookworm so I could never give a bad review to a bookstore, but if I did, it would be this one. And it's not anything I can really put my finger on; more like a few little things that add up to not make me love this place. The first thing that gets me is as soon as you walk in they have a huge display for their Nook. Ok fine, they sell electronic readers, they want to make money...I get that, but this is a bookstore....could they maybe display...oh I don't know - books in a prominent position? I guess I'm just old school. I like books; the smell, the feel of one on my hand, the fact that they don't need batteries... The booksellers just aren't as friendly as they are across the street at Borders, either. They're not rude, but they never greet me when I walk in, and rarely engage me in talking about books. This bugs me because I used to work at a bookstore and I loved talking to people about books! I guess it's just a job for some. They do sell Godiva chocolate, and who doesn't love to curl up with a steamy romance and some decadent chocolates? Well I know I do, so that is a plus for me! The only reason I have gone to this store a few times recently is that I had a gift card; but now that it's been used I think I will go back to the library, or used book stores. Or even across the street to their competitor, Borders. Sorry B&N you just don't do it for this bookworm. read more

I have been visiting this store for almost every week for the past 6 years. I love to stop in, get my Starbucks coffee and check out books that have come out. This store has gone through changes over the years, mainly in organization and inventory. I realize e-books are becoming more and more popular so less "kill the tree" books are available in the store. There are two things I wish this store would do: 1. Maintain their bathroom cleanliness 2. Have more chairs scattered throughout the store. 1. There have been times where I have used the bathroom and the floor is drenched with water, at least I hope it was, and toilet paper and paper towels all over the place. I don't want to touch anything because if I can see the filth, it makes me wonder what's on the stall locks, etc. of course, I NEVER sit on a public toilet seat--ever. They need to keep their bathrooms cleaner than how they are now. Wrote to them about this--no response. 2. The chairs. A few years back, I sat on the floor to look over a book. I tried to be considerate of those who needed to walk by or those looking for a book on a shelf I was sitting in front of. I remember one employee telling me to get off the floor as he was putting books away. I almost told him to F off, but thought better of it. I wrote B&N about it. No response once again. Then, I recently encountered a herniated disk and walking too much can be painful so I try to sit for a few minutes to recover from the pain of standing or walking. Nowhere to sit, I had to sit on the hard floor which didn't help my back at all. I know you all are thinking, "Why didn't you just stay home?" We'll, ever heard of cabin fever? Wonder if the store has ever thought about getting more chairs in that place, and ones with padding on them. Maybe one day. read more

I love to read and I love to browse a book store and this used to be one of my favorites but I am not sure I will come back. I bought the member card two years ago while in the store because I was making a big gift. I used it a couple of times afterwards and then it automatically renewed a year later. I wasn't happy about that but I thought, eh, I like books. I went in twice after this renewal and handed them the card at check out and was told I didn't have a membership. Both times I then asked for a manager to confirm this because I knew it had renewed (saw it on my credit statement) and was told, no ma'am, you just get the member emails EVERY SINGLE DAY just in case you want to renew it and you can renew it right now for $25!!!! Yes, I had every intention of coming home and calling BN and clear it up from there but, you know, kids and life. Imagine my surprise when my credit statement shows an automatic membership renewal yesterday. Um. No. This time I called the number on the back of the card and found out, why yes! I have had a membership all this time, who would have thought? I told Omar who helped me to delete that and credit my account because I am buying my books from Amazon from now on. I truly think they were trying to scam me into spending $25 in their store. Whatever the case is, it's wrong. The books are good, skip the membership because they won't let you use it here anyway. read more

I love reading and I love bookstores. However, I refuse to do business with a store who clearly sells books online cheaper than they do in the store. They refuse to match the online pricing in the store. Someone gave me a BN gift card for Christmas. Here it is 9 months later and I'm finally getting around to using it. I found a hardback book at the Barnes & Noble website for $16. I called the store to see if they had it in stock. They did. They placed it on hold for me. It never crossed my brain to ask them how much it was because I was looking at the price online. Well, here is a newsflash for you. I went into the store and the EXACT same hardback book from the EXACT same seller was $27. They would not match the price. The sales person asked me if I was a BN member and I could save 10% off a hardback. Gee, let me do the math. That would be a savings of $2.70 IF I SPENT AN EXTRA $25 TO BECOME A MEMBER??? You're asking me to spend $25 to be a member plus $27 (minus a 10% savings) for a book that is $16 on your website without a membership plus $3 shipping. That is a difference of approximately $30 for the SAME BOOK. On which planet does that make financial sense? I'll admit that I used to be a member at BN a few years ago but I got tired of paying the $25 annually to save money. I can get it on Amazon where I already pay an annual fee and have it in two days. The only reason why I'm trying to buy it here is to use this gift card. I'll order the book this time at BN.com but this will be the last time they get any of my business. Retailers better wake up or they will soon have empty stores all over the place with people out of jobs because they refuse to match an online price FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE!!!!!!! Botton Line: Shop on their website to save money for the same book. Shop at Amazon and save money without the "membership" fee. You just read about the slow death of Barnes and Noble stores. read more

The place has interesting stuff the sell, but crappy/ inconsiderate service! I came to do some studying, but that didn't happen bc there were hardly any electrical plugs to plug my computer into. All the areas for reading are so far from outlets. I moved a chair close to one and the manager got upset. He was not very understanding, or concerned at all about why I needed to be close to the outlet. read more

This may be the closest Barnes and Noble store I have to my town near Baytown but I love coming here because they have a Starbucks with it. I enjoy the variety selections they have of books and movies. Great sales and friendly staff! It is a busy setting but for now its worth my trip. I'm hopeful that we get one near Baytown! read more

After the Borders chain shuttered and my local Pleasant Hill (CA) Barnes & Nobel branch closed, a good chain bookstore became harder to find, and a better independent (outside of Powell's Books in Portland) remained even more difficult. So when this Barnes & Noble caught my eye during this business trip, I was all in to wander the stacks, look at the journal selection, and browse through their extensive magazine selection. There's a Starbucks too, which includes patio seating. This is a nice well-organized store and it was a pleasure to linger. read more

This B&N is so ridiculous. They didnt let my kids sit down for a minute to review the books they like. Texas already lifted mask mandate and they still treat us so rudely and ridiculously with all requests to not sit down and go quickly. We have come here for ten years and are loyal customers to them. They see us every weekend and know our face so well. So disapointed with their ridiculous rules with masks. read more

I come here once a year, and it's usually 2-5 days before Christmas. Because my family is tough to buy for, but I ALWAYS find something here. There is always friendly staff around to help you find the cooking or sports or history sections. They have great selection of bargain books in some areas. And a great kids section for those nieces and nephews that seemingly have all the battery operated toys they can handle. During Christmas, they always have plenty of staff at the checkout lines. You might have to wait a bit, but they are efficient. I never get the club membership, just doesn't seem worth it for once a year shopping. There is a Starbucks next door (connection inside) to sit and rest (also nice). During Christmas, they'll have a charity organization (school or animal shelter, etc.) to wrap your gift for a donation. I take advantage every time, that's 3-6 less things for me to wrap and the money goes toward a good cause. They always have the latest books and the place is always clean and tidy. I shudder to think that someday, brick and mortar bookstores may be no more, with eBooks and Amazon. It's nice to come here and walk around and in one hour, find gifts for everyone! read more

I love the children's section at this B&N. They have a cute stage with a large tree to lean against and read. There's also a little section where kids can get together and play on a large train set. Since my daughter isn't in daycare, this is a good place to take her to socialize her with other children when you want to beat the heat and not pay a ton of money to do so! The cafe is always hopping for some reason. There's always a ton of people sitting outside and chatting it up, I like that! :) read more

This Barnes & Noble is much better than my own Barnes & Noble off of Fairmont Parkway. It has a large children's section with toys. I got an amazing coloring book entitled "Calming; Therapy- an anti-stress coloring book". I got it for $6.98. The books original price was $15.00.. I got it for half off of the original price! The book, (along with the rest of the discounted books) were prominently displayed in the store, and easy to locate. There was also a wide array of trinkets, stuffed animals, board games, and all manner of different items. There also is a Starbucks coffee joint attached to this Barnes & Noble, I'm not sure if that comes standard with every Barnes & Noble or not. read more

Ugh this is such a love-hate relationship. While I love books, shopping & browsing for books- I still wish Border's was open! I've even started ordering more from Amazon, but there is something about browsing books that gets me! Every time I come to this location, I leave disappointed or frustrated. The past two visits they have been out of multiple books I was looking for, or I was able to show that a book was available in store and where it was located at- but after going to where the computer was directing me, it was no where to be found! Finding a staff member to assist here is like a needle in a haystack, so good luck getting assistance on the floor. I was finally able to locate one of the books on a table at the front of the store (I was directed to the absolute back corner via the computer). My visit prior to this, the sales clerk notified me that if it's a newer release, then always check the tables because they move new releases around- well then have your computer state that, isn't that why they are there? To be helpful and direct your customers? Also, the intent of my last visit was to exchange a book that I received as a birthday gift (I already owned it). I waited in line and after getting to the checkout, I was informed that B&N doesn't allow exchanges without the gift receipt. I made it clear I wasn't looking for cash, merely just wanted to exchange the book. The staff member made it clear it wasn't an option, that they have no way to prove the book was even from B&N (the book was in a B&N bag). How can a company this big not have a way to track purchases? Maybe because they are too busy pushing their membership on you at checkout. Finally a manager came by and approved the return and gave me store credit. I was then told that in the future, I would need a gift receipt and that they don't always do this- I felt like they were accusing me of scamming B&N. I went and found another book, spent more than my store credit and decided that this may finally end my love of in-store book shopping. (Except for Half Priced Books!) I am truly disappointed in their lack of customer service and the fact that this mega-store doesn't have a way to track their purchases & makes it so hard for someone to exchange their product. We would camp out in B&N if they would let us. Most B&Ns have that same intellectually modern vibe like this one. It has a decent selection, though more specific and less-popular books are rarely in stock and must be ordered (like other B&Ns). The recommended fiction is usually a good set to peruse as well as the new fiction. The staff is friendly and usually looks items up for you quickly; however, they do have a self-lookup computer to let you do it yourself for a faster result. The cafe makes good drinks but they can be busy at peak times with very little seating available. Right now they are a little difficult to get to with the I-45 construction, but I'd rather drive construction and go to this one if I can. read more

For huge chains, I don't expect a lot with the employees going out of their way for service in general. They do what they are hired to do. I have asked help finding some books for school here I go to the service center located just a little further upon entrance to the left. They are always able to easily find my books and will look up as many as I need with no complaint and actually lead me to the book and find it, as well as put it in my hands, simple as pie. I'm glad they don't tell me the section it should be it and point in the direction I should go. read more

Kevin, the "manager," is disrespectful towards customers. Instead of owning up to a mistake that was made on his or his staff's part, he instead decided to imply that a customer was lying and talk over them and make a little bit of a scene. As we were unaware that Kevin was the "manager," we phoned the store to report the disrespect only for Kevin to be disrespectful again after stating he was the manager. Upon being told that we would just contact corporate, he basically taunted us. Kevin, people like you are the reason more and more people are being driven away from real stores and into online sales. It's better to wait for a product to come in the mail than to be disrespected by unfit employees/managers. Congratulations on losing another customer. read more

Was denied service after i didn't have the 2 cents to finish my payment, and after i said let me go outside and scrounge up 2 pennies the cashier, told me to "Take my money" and then she proceeded to put the products that i planned to buy back on the shelf....horrible customer service i will never go to this location again, screen your people, or teach them how to treat and respect customer. read more

I like Barnes and noble since it's one of the only book stores still open. Besides maybe the occasional overnight release or author signing, I'll probably never shop at B&N agin. This has nothing to do with the employee's or how I was treated. I hate how they don't price match. One of the books I wanted was 13 dollars more then amazon or their online store. At least have competitive pricing. Or have the same prices online. One of the employee's said it had to do with extra costs at retail. Why do I care about that, as a consumer I only cares about how cheap I can get the product. B&N really needs to get with the times. read more

I've been coming to this bookstore a couple of times a week for over 3 years. I have a 3 year old son and have been bringing him here since he was just a little baby. They have a section in the back of the store for toddlers to play and a great selection of toys for all ages. The staff is incredible. Most of the toys are open faced and children play with them so the staff ends up having to pick up after them quite a bit. They do it with a smile on their faces. They have story time for kids as well. It's been a big part of my little boys life and we'll share those memories for life. When I was shopping for a reader I had to go with the barnes and noble Nook over amazons kindle. When I purchase a new book, it comes from barnes and noble. We really have to support the business' that make a difference in our lives. read more
