For a vet who has been treating animals for decades you would think he would have an answer or a shred of empathy. Per the perfect OR report there should have been zero complications on a routine spay. There were also 2 doctors in the room at the time , the other doctor did not have the decency to show face and express any sympathy. They did not offer assistance to help me get my beloved Gracie to my vehicle and I had to carry my deceased dog to my vehicle in the dead of winter in the Catskills and have an excavator dig a grave for her. Please think twice before bringing your pet here, I wish I had.

She was a little over 4 months old and as part of our adoption agreement with the Sullivan SPCA we were required to have her spayed and they used this vet. The procedure was part of the adoption fee that we paid. We dropped her off in the morning and received a call later in the day that our puppy, Izzy, died. The chances of death during a routine spaying are like .1%, but our girl is gone. She was the greatest dog and we love her so much. When my husband called the vet to find out what happened we were told the procedure went fine, but she later had strokes or a blood clot and they did everything they could. He wanted to drive the hour to see our Izzy and make sure it was her, and take her body back to bury her in her yard, and they told us we couldn't see her or have her because she is still the property of the SPCA. We paid our adoption fee and we raised her, did everything we needed to under our adoption agreement. She's ours! We also had an issue when we first brought Izzy home in April. She had horrible diarrhea from the day she came home and was underweight. So we contacted the SPCA about a week after when it didn't go away and they had us bring her back for treatment from this vet. They said she had giardia and gave us about 4 days of liquid medicine. She wasn't getting any better after taking the meds so we ended up taking her to our own vet. We found out she actually had coccidia and we got the right meds to treat and cure her. I don't know if it's because our dog was an adoption through the SPCA and they aren't getting paid enough by the SPCA, but they didn't care about our baby. They were heartless when speaking about her death and they seemed to not want to treat her illness when she was a little baby. Don't go to this awful place!

Do it with someone else. I want the most experienced vet possible. He was older but they treated him so sweetly. A few months later, he started to not eat or drink and couldn't really walk. It was his time. They gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes and cuddle with him. We were allowed to stay through the process and were also given time to spend with him after he passed. I was ill and bed-bound, and he took advantage of me. I needed mobile vet services, so I had him come out to my home to draw blood from a pet of mine who needed testing. I was very ill and had no one available to help me to take my pet to the vet. "Dr." Rosenzweig came off as super disorganized and was clumsy when drawing blood. He had a terrible bedside manner and (really) put my pet in pain when inserting the needle, making him cry and jerk. I'd paid him $1,600 for testing which is outrageous, but he insisted that it was necessary. I waited 3 weeks and tried to contact him. Left two voicemails, a text message, and two emails. He completely blew me off. He's completely immature and unprofessional. He wasn't gentle at all, and despite what others had said in their reviews, he DOES oversell his services, he isn't caring, he's egregiously callous, irresponsible, and flakey. We dropped a healthy dog with a list of her routine along with her food and snacks . 5 days through her stay we received a call that she had diarrhea and they were giving her rice . We agreed it was possibly separation stress . Here is where things went way wrong the diarrhea worsened . Upon picking her up she was emaciated and dirty along with sores on her leg and paws with worsening diarrhea. There explanation was she wouldn't let them near her to clean her up. We took her home and noticed her symptoms were worsening we took her to the animal hospital very next morning she was ultimately treated with with medications and several rounds of IV solution to reverse her severe dehydration. She was diagnosed with giardia which is a parasite that can be found in kennel water as per the Veterinarian. When Mutt in Jeff was contacted to explain the findings they denied that it came from their facility and said wasn't possible. Their denial is what makes things worse . After a $240 boarding bill which we paid without a problem. We incurred $600 in vet bill. Be warned about bringing your pet their . There pet care is poor at best to let this happen! Be warned!
