Last night we went to the mall and dad tried out the 805 Barbershop in the mall. He liked it and felt confident enough with Tim to introduce my son to the shop. My son is 4 and has sensory issues and cutting his hair especially with clippers has been a nightmare the 2 times clippers were used he left in tears and was screaming the entire time also these places said they specialize in kids. Since his previous haircuts were pretty much traumatizing he has been rocking the long hair for awhile. I do the occasional trim so it's not too long. We basically let him have his own style. Recently he asked us to cut it and pointed at a old photo when he had cut his hair and well let's just say i botched it. Not too bad but noticeable. Tim calls my son over after cutting dads hair and starts talking to my son. He shows my son the clippers and the scissors basically what ever tool he was using he showed my son and let him feel them. He talked to my son the entire time and was calm we didn't feel rushed. He was awesome I just can't say enough about the entire experience. I highly recommend him to anyone and will be taking my son back as long as he wants his hair cut. read more

Haircut, Shave and a Test Drive! This review is a long time coming and have been meaning to get one written. I've been searching a long time for a place to get a haircut and I believe I've finally found it. First the Haircut - walked in with no wait. Upon sitting in the chair (with Tim - one of the owners), requested a haircut. Noticed they also offered a shave and requested one of those too! I'm basically a no special needs guy when it comes to haircuts and asked to have them do "whatever" - just make it look good and not too wild or short. After all said and done - Perfect!! Definitely took his time and could tell he knew what he was doing! Next was the Shave - it had been a LONG time since I've had a straight edge shave at a barber - and although a tiny bit painful (whiskers may have been too long), it was at the same time very relaxing and when done it looked great. If getting one of these in the future, I might suggest trimming with an electric razor first!! Finally the Test Drive - I know what you're thinking - this is a barbershop, they don't sell cars here and how did a test drive happen? The other owner (Michael), also heard him being called Mickey, noticed I was driving an Alfa Romeo Stelvio. It was always on his "bucket list" to be able to drive one and think he was floored (literally) when I suggested let's go for a drive - and told him you're the driver too!! After about 15 minutes of driving around Ventura - I think he really enjoyed himself!! Bottom line - I'll be back! As you've read in other reviews - if you do encounter a wait - they have a pool table to pass the time - if you think you're good - challenge Tim to a game. If you win - your haircut is FREE! But if you lose you pay DOUBLE!! Would love to maybe see a Classic Pinball Machine there too (just thinking out loud). I know there are many choices out there when it comes to haircuts, but really feel that you will enjoy it here and make this your forever haircut "home". Nice place located in the mall. Great for us guys to get a quick clean up or full cut while the other half is shopping in their favorite store!! Shop appears to be neat and clean. Place is full of sports memorabilia which adds a nice touch to it. Young guys fresh out of Barber School making a go at it. Good job so far!!! They were extremely rude and unprofessional.. had my boyfriend wait a whole hour to get his hair cut just for him to come in and say "sorry man we're closing up" when it was only 6:20 and on their website it says 7pm. Who does that?! Young inexperienced people that's who do that! This was only the second time my husband had ever been to a barber shop an I fear he will never go again after this place! I don't know how they stay in business! The one young guy, was rude an acted like he was all that! The other guy that worked on my husband was nice enough but no experience! These guy are barley out of school!!!! Was looking for a new spot to get my cut... and I wasn't disappointed. I was taken care of by Leo Ramirez and he was a true professional. He took care of everything. From the fade to the lineup everything was on-point. Razor shave with a mid-fade. He also shaped and trimmed the bread and mustache. Every step of the way he made sure I was good and ask questions. To me that's what a true barber does, ask questions to make sure the customer is on the same sheet of music. Especially since I was a new customer. The price was right and it made me feel like I was getting more bang for my buck. The spot is inviting and the barbers are all friendly. They were cool to chat it up with. The décor was classy but had that new wave feel to it. So not your pops barbershop, but still felt like a barbershop and not a hair salon. It was clean and welcoming.
